I stopped at this place about six months ago and ordered a burger, I went to the window, made my order and went back to my truck to wait. another truck pulls up with three or four guys and they go up and make their order… well after about 15 or 20 minutes, the woman is sticking her arm out the window with bags giving the other truck their food and then at that time I see one of the guys bringing a bag back to her and I knew what had happened, I walked up to check on my order and I see her putting the burger that this other guy had touched back in the bag to give to me. So I ask her is that what she was doing and she said I don’t THINK he touched it… That pissed me off for that stupid woman to assume that something that I was about to eat was just fine that someone else could have tampered with!!! I’m sure things like this don’t happen everyday at this place… at least I hope not… but for something like that for me, it inexcusable, for someone to be too lazy to make a fresh burger for their mistake. I have been going to this place ever since I was a kid, but I will never be able to trust it again!

We came to try out the fried pies. I chose a chocolate fried pie, which I wasn’t too thrilled with, but the Pecan Coconut pie was really, really good. I would definitely recommend stopping by and trying a slice(or two).

Huge menu. I had a plate lunch which was good and pie for dessert which was great. Apparently it was on the Food Network.

Come for the pecan coconut pie, stay for the pecan coconut pie. In fact, just get an entire pecan coconut pie to take home with you in case you forget how awesome your first piece was. I’m vaguely aware that Ray’s has other items on the menu(including other kinds of homemade pie!), but honestly– I haven’t gotten past the pecan coconut pie yet.

I always go by Ray’s when I’m in the area and have a piece of pie. If it’s good enough for Alton Brown and the Food Network it’s good enough for me and it is very good pie.
