Best kept secret in Lexington. If cheap drinks, great crowd and zero bullshit is the place for you, come to the CCI. Advertised as Lexington’s oldest bar is a great place to meet new people and enjoy a true dive bar experience. Kevin the bartender is awesome and will quickly learn your name and know what you drink. Great place to watch games and you could get lucky and get to hear play by play by CCI regular Scott. Truly a Lexington staple, which everyone should experience once.

It’s a Lexington institution. It’s one of the last of the great and genuine American dive bars here in this city. I would put it next to Archie’s in Chicago in that category. The cocktails are cheap. The ambiance is dark, dirty, vintage, and brooding, in the best way. This is an old school dive bar, one of the oldest operating bars in the county, from what I understand. In the afternoon and early evening this is a genuine dive bar, with the Moe’s-esque clientele to match. Sometime around 7:30 it becomes a little hipster(though you can still find a one armed pool hustler waiting for a game… You will feel like you need a shower and a tall glass of Airborne after you leave this place.

Wow, where to start? The best dark bar in Lexington! Heavy pours and a mixed clientele of college kids, Yuppies and gruff old bar flies! Who could ask for anything more?

Best dive bar in town. Beer comes canned and ice cold. Very affordable. Place has tons of character. Pickled egg is a must have. This place has a strong pour.

First time visit In the bar. The bartender, Jen maybe(?), was drunk or high on something. She expected a friend and myself’s whole life story before she served us because she was convinced that we were ABC. She was incredibly rude. We walked out instead of staying for our drinks. Was very disappointing bc I’m visiting my hometown and had to experience something so blood boiling.

Dive. Bar. Heaven. It’s where Budweiser lights go in the afterlife. STRONG whiskey drinks. Some old dude playing«Wagon Wheel»(why is O.C.M.S. so Lexington?) on an acoustic guitar. AZTECPINBALL! Inexplicable crock pots. The bartenders are nice. The space is incomparable. It’s the Chevy Chase Inn. It’s traveling through time. You are just a small stop in its existence. Go. But just once. I’d hate for this place to get crowded. Or anyone to beat my score in Aztec Pinball.

Please don’t go to this bar. Their beer selection sucks, they close early and I don’t want everyone crowding into my favorite bar in Lexington. That’s right, I love this place and it’s too small for the me and all the obnoxious bros that flood his town every season. Go crowd into mccarthys with your sweaty cohorts. Leave me this bar.

Chevy Chase Inn, or CCI as it is affectionately known by regulars, is the place I wish I had known about in college. You can always expect an eclectic crowd in this 75 year old watering hole. The bartenders are exceptionally friendly, especially Mike, who works weeknights. CCI is great for its cheap beverages and unassuming atmosphere. On weekends, they have live music that is, at least every time I’ve been, pretty awesome. If you’re looking for a hip place to go on the weekend where people will look at you and judge you by what you’re wearing, this is definitely not the place, but who wants that?
