Bon Buffet

Went here around 6pm. Service was good and the selection is very good, but this could quite possibly be the worst food I have ever had in my entire life. I love cheap Chinese food too, but the food was cold and lacked flavor. It seemed as if the food had been sitting out for over three hours.

Took the family here today. We were in a hurry to make it to a movie. None of us were impressed. Their sushi is horrible. Most items on buffet didn’t even taste that good. Their won ton soup did not have any wontons in it, just broth, wontons were in a separate steamer/​Warmer and they were dried up and hard and lacked in flavor. Spring rolls not good. $ 10 a person was too much for this place. Poor quality. Will not return and we certainly would not recommend going here.

I went with my sister and brother-​in-​law; I’m visiting from out-​of-​town. They have never tried the hibachi. I usually love it, so did. BIG MISTAKE. I don’t know whether it was that, or the fact that the buffet looked like they weren’t adding new food at all (well, they were adding new sauce so that the food looked fresher) even though it was hours before closing — but not even two hours after getting home I was throwing up. I spent all night vomiting. It was a great way to spend the first night visiting. This was the only food I had eaten for most of the day; it could not have been anything else.
They did not add anything to buffet while we were there. The food was dry, except for the one where they added new sauce. As another reviewer said, the sushi was just sitting there.
I would stay away.

Place has a new name. Habachi Grill Buffet or something like that. $ 8 lunch. $ 10 dinner. Cheap Asian American buffet with plenty of variety. I loved it. Nothing too extraordinary though

I came here for lunch one day. Worth 3 ½ stars. There was a nice selection of the buffet. The food was good during lunch, especially the veggies. The sushi was ok even though it was just sitting on the counter, not much selection, but it is what it is. They even had some whole steamed fish, which I really love. Plenty of choices on the buffet. They also had ice cream, was too full to eat some, but looked good with several choices.

Does the idea of four food lanes with cuisine from the four corners of the world sound enticing? Then this is the place for you. From hot mackrel to a fresh hibachi this place has everything with a Southern Maryland flare. Even grilled ham and cheese cooked to order! Want an Asian beer, just ask. If this restaurant were in any other locale, you’d have to make a reservation. If you live in Southern Maryland or are just visiting, be sure to try this local hot spot. Better plan a trip to the Green Door afterwards. Took off one star because the gum ball machine is a little anticlimactic.

I think they renamed this place to Hibachi Grill and Buffet.
I wouldn’t eat here if my life depended on it. None of the buffet areas had hot lamps, so all the food was room temperature including the seafood. There were raw fish sushi rolls just sitting on the counter. The shrimp used for the Hibachi smelled and tasted off; I couldn’t bring myself to swallow it as I was put off by the foul taste.
I ate a bite out of a Spring Roll and the shrimp inside was pasty and foul smelling. I physically couldn’t swallow. The only food item I chewed and swallowed was a Barbecue Spare Rib, but even that came to bite me in the butt as ended up spending a good portion of the rest of the night with horrible nausea and diarrhea. Do not eat here.

The last time I went here, the food was terrible, and one of my friends got food poisoning and had to get his stomach pumped after eating the seafood they serve. Please, if you want to live, don’t eat here.

Negative folks. Sunday buffet after church. All the food was cold. The trays were hot but the food was cold to the touch. Investigation reveals they are not using heat lamps over the food. A chopped up English convo with front fella, resulted in him not understanding the issue, and attempting to show me the hot trays. I made him handle a dumpling that was ice cold and he froze up. We left and I promised a call to the health inspection folks. As long as nothing is done these types of restaurants will haunt St. Mary’s county. Please folks… stop accepting mediocre food and service.

This was the worst Chinese food I have had in a long time. Not planning to go back.

Bön Buffet has Chinese, and American food in a large buffet setting. The food is very cheap, and it shows. I am not saying it is god awful, but is certainly is not good. I have been here a few times for work outings, or meeting friends who worked nearby in high school. But overall this place is no great shakes, and I wouldn’t suggest going.

Well… hmmm…if you’re looking for Chinese food, you have come to the right place. Bön Buffet has Chinese food! Like wontons and general tso’s chicken and sesame chicken and noodles and grilled cheese… and pizza… and french fries???
I have been to Bön Buffet more times than I would have liked and generally it was for a coworker outing. I can’t say it is terrible. It is Chinese food plus American food which I assume is to please the little ones and those without a palette refined enough to eat such things as fried chicken smothered in sauce with rice on the side…
Go figure.
So two stars. One for the strange yet familiar buffet atmosphere, and one for the food that does its basic responsibility as food and fills you up without giving you food poisoning or bacterial infections. At least not yet…

Gotta say I just don’t like this place. If you’re from out of town, like I am, or you’re from around here and you’re on Unilocal to find a good place to eat, DONT GO HERE!!!
It’s not gross or anything but I’m not saying it was good either. The only reason I went is because I was here on business and that’s where everybody else wanted to go. Just say no!!!

For a 7.99 buffet, this IS as good as it gets! The food is always fresh and the help is great about keeping your glasses full and plates picked up as you use them. The selection is great! We like it because you can choose healthy things to eat.

If you want cheap chinese food with some typical american favorites this is a decent place.
