On the way to Tennessee and found this place on Unilocal. One of the top 2 or 3 turkey burgers I’ve ever eaten. My bride really enjoyed her burger also. The fries are good, nothing spectacular, just good fries. They have a nice selection of sodas and both sweet, it is the South, and unsweet tea. Would definitely come back and recommend it to others around Lexington.

Stopped by Bad Wolf on Friday while in Lexington on business. The place was small, yet clean, and had some excellent design and decoration choices. Ordering was straightforward, with a chalkboard menu at the counter. I selected the Bad Wolf burger and a drink, and was given a number and told to pick any table. The first thing I was delighted to see was Ale-8 available as one of the fountain drink selections. Not being from the Lexington area, this is not something I ever see back home, and I absolutely LOVE Ale-8. I happily filled my cup, nearly drained it on the spot, and filled it again. Back at the table I awaited my lunch while I took in the place. A man, who I assume was the owner, was busy moving around the dining area, taking care of customers, grabbing a mop to clean a spot on the floor, and refilling napkins and so forth. All while managing the grill and the workers behind the counter. It was clear he takes great pride in his establishment. After about 5 minutes or so of waiting, my burger arrived. Needless to say, it was amazing. The mixture of beer cheese and fried onion straws worked very well with the seasoned patty, which wasn’t huge, but ample enough in size. The flavor of the burger and the bun were amazing, and I was very tempted to order a second one to take home for later. I’ve had some fantastic burgers, and this one easily ranks up there in the top 5. These guys really know what they are doing. I’m looking forward to bringing the wife to Bad Wolf in the next few weeks so she can give it a try as well. Honestly, I want to go back purely for selfish reasons, but if I can get her hooked as well then its all gravy from there!

I love the burgers but thought businesses were supposed to cater to the needs of their customers! I don’t see Bad Wolfe surviving very long being open only 3 hours a day

The Good: the burgers!!! The Bad: not enough seating The Rundown: this place has the hands down best burger in Lexington, and honestly one of the best burgers I have ever had. I get the bad wolf which is just an amazing burger. My wife always gets different ones, today it was the philly burger which had all the toppings of a great Philly cheesesteak. The only drawback that I have found this far is that they serve Krinkle cut fries. While these are cooked well, I feel they are not up to par with the burgers they offer. Also, there is a small sidewalk area that they could use for some outdoor seating for beautiful days like today but don’t have the seafs. The Impression: this place has unique options on their burgers and every one that I have tried has been delicious. Whenever I think of burgers this is the first place that comes to my mind and it should for you as well. If you haven’t had the pleasure of coming here yet you need to make a trip over to Leestown Road for some fiercely crafted burgers.

Wanted to update my review: I think they’ve been working on their ventilation system because I noticed that I smelled less like the grill when I left. Everything is still delicious.

First off I highly suggest you try the bad wolf burger because the beer cheese is worth it! This is a casual place(which was great because after traveling we didn’t feel like being dressy). You order at the counter and then the staff bring you your order. I knew even before I got my burger this would be a great restaurant… when I got my cup of ice and I got the soft ice I was super excited! The quality of meat was fantastic. My burger was not dry at all. The bacon was top notch and did I mention the beer cheese? ! This restaurant even has unlimited fries… yet after all the food I got initially I can’t imagine eating that many fries. Definitely worth stopping by!

Went there yesterday for brunch with husband. It’s in a strip mall. Their décor needs some upgrade.Seriously.when you walk in, you place your order and pay and then they bring you food. We ordered their # 1(signature burger but substituted with turkey) and # 2 with onion bun. Their signature burger has cheese, egg, bacon and other goodies. It comes with fries or u can get onion rings… Cooked right infront of us as I was sitting by the window… 10 mins to make and when it arrives. It was delicious esp their signature burger. I will give them full points. They have unlimited fries also. Just regular house made fries but their food is Delicious. I will be back:))

I like the new look. The food is still tasty. We had a plain cheeseburger kids meal and a Penrod Pineapple Burger this visit. The fries are thick-crinkle cut and speckled with pepper(see photos). Also worth noting is the Pineapple burger had two Pineapple rings, not one. It makes a difference on a larger burger like this. We finished the meal off with a Nutella Brownie. I cut it into four pieces it was so large and dense. Sharing is caring. A solid meal from a friendly hometown place. I’ll be back.

This burger place is legit. I went here back when it was Meadowthorpe Café, and it was just OK. Then all of a sudden they start making burgers and referencing Dr. Who, and I’m all about it. I had a custom mushroom Swiss burger, and my wife had the Bad Wolf. Both were really, really good, juicy burgers. The mushrooms on mine were very fresh, and I also added some really tasty bacon. They have all you can eat fries, and I subbed onion rings with my meal, which was a great choice. The batter was really fluffy, like puffed around the onion, and really good. I’ll certainly be back.

Stopped in on a whim to grab some brunch. Decided on the Bad Wolf(beer cheese, bacon, onion staws, brioche bun) burger and could not have been more right. Honestly I think this burger wins best burger in Lexington. Staff was super friendly too.

My interest was piqued by the recent Unilocal Event, so 8 days later I found myself back at BWB to claim a Bad Wolf Burger for my very own. I was not disappointed. I ordered my burger medium rare. I almost never do this, as so few places both allow anything but well done and know what«medium rare» means. I took a chance based on my quality experience at the event. Wow. Just wow. I cut my burger in half and it was beautiful. I think I have tipped a chef maybe 6 times in my life, but I caught the young lady who grilled my burger to give her my personal thanks and a tip. The perfectly cooked burger included beer cheese with just the right kick(and I don’t even like beer cheese all that much — but here it worked perfectly), onion straws, and real, correctly cooked bacon, all on a poppy seed bun that was also nearly perfect. The bun was the right size for the big burger, and soft yet sturdy enough to hold up to a large patty which was pretty darn«juicy». Instead of being a vehicle for burger delivery, the bun was an integral part of the Big Bad Wolf taste experience. With the included fries it was a lot of food for lunch, but at only $ 10(including my soda) I don’t mind. I didn’t begin to have room for any more than the initial wave of the tasty«endless» fries or the yummy-looking desserts — I was way too busy devouring my Bad Wolf, but I enjoyed the fries and I’ll try a dessert next time because I WILL be back. Ok, that’s the food — now for everything else: The Dr. Who themed décor is subtle and amusing for those in on the joke. Otherwise it looks like a little trendy tossed on top of an older café, but it is clean, the seats are comfy, and there are lots of seats, including an extra dining room around the corner. Drinks are self-serve and the fountain includes Ale 8 – 1, a local favorite and worth a try if you like sodas. The service was prompt and the grill is right there where you can see it(and tell it is clean). My only quibble is that they’re only open for breakfast and lunch most days, and only open to 6 on the weekend. I’m not much for eating that early, but for a burgers this good I’ll deal with it.

Love the business name, but the food falls a little short. I tried the chili burger and it was fine — nothing outstanding. My husband had the burger with bacon and a fried egg on it — also fine. The fries were sad, frozen crinkle fries that weren’t cooked long enough. I paid extra to upgrade my fries to onion rings and was given only five or so. The onion rings were interesting though — they tasted like doughnuts. I couldn’t decide if that was good or not. Service was very nice. I wasn’t crazy about the fact that the floors were sticky throughout the entire restaurant. Overall, this isn’t someplace I would return too.

I am usually not a fan of burgers out, cause I can usually do them better at home, but Bad Wolf has changed my mind — my daughter kind of hurt my feelings cause she used to dislike all other burgers but told me that Joe’s burgers topped mine… I got the Penrod pineapple burger — excellent excellent excellent

We have been looking for a good place for have breakfast on Saturday or Sunday. Many years ago, I had been to Meadowthorpe Café. This isn’t the old Meadowthorpe. If you haven’t been there in the last few years, it would be worth your time to stop in again. I was very impressed and will return many times. I have the eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy. My wife had an omelet. Both meals were excellent, as was the coffee. Looking forward to going back for lunch since I work just down the street.

Two words: meatloaf Monday! The lunch special on Monday is meatloaf and comes with two sides and cornbread. I recommended getting mashed potatoes and broccoli casserole. I’m not a fan of corn bread, but I am told theirs is tasty. You get a lot of food for your money and is really is tasty. I love the burgers here. They are the best in town. The Spaulding burger is a local favorite. It’s a bacon cheese burger with a fried egg with a Spaulding’s donut as the bun. This is fun to try, but unless you are going for a heart attack, you might not want to eat these daily. I enjoy the bacon cheese burger and the jerk burger. There is a burger for everyone there.

Why 5 stars? Because the Spalding Burger is the best tasting thing in Lexington. — — — I discovered Spalding donuts on one of my first trips to Lexington, and was infatuated. It’s an old school, simple place, that does one thing — serve the best damn donuts in the land. Then I heard about Meadowthorpe, which takes those donuts, adds a beef patty to the middle, and offers a Spalding Donut burger on the menu. I was immediately infatuated. And let me tell you, it lived up to the hype. The Spalding Burger is the best tasting food item in Lexington, in my humble opinion. There’s something perfect about combining the sweet & savory of a donut and a burger. You know how if you eat a couple of donuts, it usually soars your blood sugar and eventually puts you into a food coma? When you eat donuts with a burger, none of that happens! You just get to enjoy the goodness, sans usual donut side effects! I also happened to notice them bring out a pumpkin loaf and put it into the pastry case after I was already done eating. Despite technically eating two donuts, I couldn’t pass up the chance at adding to my fatness, and I’m glad I did. Delicious. Meadowthorpe = true gem.
