Clarion Hotel Conference Center – South

After a long ride we needed a great hotel to rest in. The staff was very friendly. I thought the price was kind of high in regards to the area (no attractions etc). Rooms were nice… the hotel had a bar and a swimming pool.
The breakfast was good in the morning… I gave this hotel 3 stars because it needs some repairs… The floor was wet in the hallway, the vending machines were broken, my refrigerator was broken and in the morning the maids were very noisy. …
Despite this it was ideal for resting after a long drive

Picked this hotel out of the coupon book we got at the welcome center. It’s good for what it is. Fairly well appointed, modern and recent, but not a brand new building. Real (not powdered) eggs, crispy bacon. Nice staff on check in. Mid week customers included a lot of guys that were on the road with the company small truck. They might utilize the special club across the street in the evenings. Other customers seemed more like tourists. Indoor pool had a big group (12 to 15) that were hanging out, having a beer. Seems like quite a few dining options nearby, but we did the more touristy thing and drove 6 miles on a narrow road to a place on the river. The hotel had lots of reminders to call immediately if something wasn’t right, which usually means you won’t need to call, and we didn’t!
