Superb fresh, creative pizzas with locally sourced ingredients paired with excellent service make this establishment rise to the top of my list! Personable wait staff, attentive management, and wood-fired artisan pizza finesse all in one!

Had the mushroom pizza and it was really good, had the meat laden monstrosity and didn’t dig the combination and it was too wet to cook properly. Over all it was really good.

one word: unreal. great prices and service and food is AMAZING! the tomato chicken soup is a 10. I mean. the nutella pie… I could go on forever. We had 9 people for dinner including 4 to go bowls of tomato soup(you taste it, you will want some tomorrow too!) for apps, salads, dinners, desert, and a bottle of wine = $ 200. Needless to say, I got a frequent buyer card, which I now intend on using regularly. Wow. this place is really tops in all of our books, including 2 really picky kids: ages 9 and 13. Try it and you will want to go back as soon as you get hungry again!

The dante pizza was amazing. Never had anything like it. The honey basil with the spicy sausage was superb.

Ordered the Funkhi pizza with no egg on the Stuffed Crust with extra Mozz. The stuffed part of the crust was great as were the toppings but the middle of the pizza was soggy and watery maybe from the fresh mozz. Will try another pizza on my next visit.

Did NOT expect such a wonderful meal! I was staying at the hotel and wanted something other than the food at the Doubletree so I walked over to Crust. It smelled great when I walked in, and I was promptly seated and brought a bread stick which was sooo yummy. It had the fire grilled taste and was so chewy and gooey. Exactly what i was craving. I ordered the Pear Salad to start and then tried the Hot Brown Pizza that was the special for the evening. Everything was delicious. My only concern is that they should maybe offer a protein as an a la carte for those dining here with friends, but they may not be able to eat bread. So perhaps a side of grilled chicken for the salads? Other than that, it was a great experience and I’ll be back!

I’m not a huge fan of pizza but this place is good for wood burning pizza! It is similar to Smashing Tomato, just a little nicer inside and you sit down and give your waiter/waitress your order. It’s a fun atmosphere and they have a decent menu selection. Our waitress was super friendly so that’s always a perk! After our meal she even brought up an {amazing} free dessert!!! Yum! If you are a pizza lover I would recommend Crust!

The garlic knots and the pizze Bianco cheesy dreams were both very good. It was made with EVOO and there was a bit too much for my taste but the local ingredients and brews were nice and the atmosphere was also excellent. Very tasty– will def be back.

I’ve been here many times, usually for a late lunch or late dinner. Today I stopped in at 5pm. Service is usually stellar. Today, just average. My server, Christin, was a little impatient asking three times what I’d like to order. This gave her ample opportunity to share the specials with me. I learned of them much later as she let two tables around me in on the secret. I had the dante pizza with sausage, mozz, parm, garlic, balsamic drizzle and honey. Tasty, but soggy in the middle. It’s Thursday so I ordered a half priced bottle of wine. I really came in for the Amarena cherries on the sundae. I’ll pick those up online in the future. I guess we started off on the wrong foot. I received 2 dirty glasses. One with my water, the other with the wine. I think she was annoyed that I noticed. AWKWARD

Fabulous! Just do it — we shared the arugula salad with poached figs(num) and two amazing pizzas. Everything was delicious and beautifully fresh and flavorful. Friendly and attentive service in a cute clean space.

I arrived at around 1pm. There weren’t many customers, so the service I got was excellent. Got the lunch special which was 7 bucks(wow!) that includes a decent-sized salad and a pizza for one. Caesar salad was good, the pizza also good. I also redeemed the free dessert Unilocal promo(see picture) which was the highlight of my meal. So delicious! In the end, my tab was just $ 11.69. That’s the best 11-dollar meal I’ve had in a long while.

I love this place! From the complimentary breadstick to the wood-fired oven pizza, wine and dessert, I thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of my meal here. I think it’s the perfect place that combines a trendy/upscale atmosphere, fresh/gourmet food and very reasonable prices all in one. It’s hard to find all three of these things in one place but Crust manages to fit the bill. It’s perfectly casual and inexpensive for a lunch venue but it also has the perfect atmosphere for a date night. The food is so delicious! The best part is the butterscotch Budino dessert. I would have never discovered this fantastic dessert if they weren’t doing a promo where you check in and get a free dessert. It is something you just have to try because the description doesn’t do it justice.

I absolutely love the pizza and the ceasar salad. The toppings are fresh and delicious. If you can go for lunch, I feel it is a lot of food for the price. Delicious!!!(the unfortunate thing, I forget it is here…) If you are going for lunch though it shares the same parking lot w/Panera and can get a little crowded if you go at noon vs a little before noon.

Who knew? About 2 years ago I stopped in this shopping plaza while passing through on a road trip. Lexington was a real cool place, you know? But I couldn’t make it to Crust because they weren’t open yet.(We went to Panera next door instead). It was like a once in a lifetime opportunity I totally missed!!! Fast forward and I moved to this part of the world. So now that we know the back story it’s no wonder that Crust has a special place with my taste buds. It’s good pizza! And just the right mix: think fine toppings but not too fancy schmancy you can’t fold it and scarf it. Artisan pies meets pizza delivery. And the name gets it right. Crust on pizza is the most important part and their crust is phenomenal! The menu overwhelms.(And I’m Italian). So thank goodness the service is great because the server will explain everything. I loved my warm bread stick while waiting and don’t tell mama mia that the marinara dipping sauce just about tops what we make at home. And oh wow! The butterscotch budino dessert was decadent and rich! I’ll be back again.

I’ve been wanting to come here for a while, and came here on date night and was blown away with how wonderful everything was. The ambiance was very nice, with the warm fire near by, and how quickly our order was taken and brought to us. We ordered the garlic knots as our appetizer and they were very delicious. They come with 4 dipping sauces, and each one was tasty. I ordered puttanesca which came with anchovies on my pizza, because I was craving something different, and it was very satisfying. And my date ordered murica which is a meat supreme type, he enjoyed his pizza as well. Everything was great, from the service to the quality of food. I’d highly recommend coming here. For checking in on Unilocal, you get a free butterscotch budino and that itself was worth coming here for. Super good!

I’m a huge fan of Smashing Tomato, and so I finally decided to give Crust a try to see what a fancy-pants version of the restaurant would be. I went on a Friday night at about 8 and it was completely dead. Our server was super knowledgeable about everything on the menu which was pretty dense. All the pizzas were very unique and had several ingredients from mostly local farms. I had to take my time just to read through every one and get a grip on what all was offered. Probably about 15 different pizzas each with its own style and flavor. Had the garlic knots as appetizers which were fantastic and came with four dipping sauces to try. The arrabiata was the best. I ended up trying the Dante which included sausage and balsamic honey. It was great! Also tried a piece of my wife’s which had an egg on top and while I wasn’t a fan I thought it was worth a try. The reason I give it three stars is simply because I’m cheap. The pizza was great, the place was nice and the wait staff was top notch. However, I can go to Smashing Tomato for almost a third of the cost and get a larger salad and pizza to fill both my wife and myself. I know this is more of a high-end place with better ingredients and ambiance, but the pizza itself, aside from the classier things that go on top of it, was very nearly the same thing I would get at Smashing. Don’t know that I would go here except if a friend wanted to try it out or I was going with a group. Also, if you check in to Unilocal you will get a free dessert. The butterscotch was excellent!

This is a review of how I didn’t get served at Crust. It was 8:00pm on a Friday night and it wasn’t packed. We were seated immediately and told Amanda would be our server. After 5 minutes, the hostess brought us a breadstick. We still hadn’t seen our server and had no drinks. As we sat there, we could see the servers and hostess chatting it up across the restaurant. After 15 minutes, my wife got up as the hostess was seating a new table. Finally someone noticed we hadn’t been served. Then my wife watched as the servers argued for another minute about whose table we were. That was the last straw. We got up and left. The server and the hostess just watched us leave. No apology. It’s a shame, because we have eaten here previously and liked it. I’m not likely to try dining here again, as this experience left a very bitter taste in my mouth.

Their web site says ‘perfectly wood-fire charred bread’ so that’s what I expected. I was disappointed. A wood-fired oven doesn’t guarantee a great bread. The crust had a tasty char and it had flavor that a good yeast bread demands but it was doughy, in a too-moist and under-baked sense. The center of the pizza was overstretched and soggy; it couldn’t support the toppings. Sari ordered the Funkhi(shiitake, oysters, cremini, porcini, truffle, ricotta, crushed chili, egg, parmesan), I had the Divine Swine(described as arrabiata, all the pork, fior di latte). As you can see from the Divine Swine listing, some of the ingredients’ names are in Italian on the menu. That’s appropriate for a restaurant in Rome. In Lexington, at least include a cheat-sheet so I can compare the selections without googling. It felt like marketing hype to justify a $ 14 individual pizza.

Found this place on Unilocal and was excited to try their food to realize that it is the old Smashing Tomato restaurant. The food was great and the free dessert for checking in was a nice treat! I got a sandwich with pesto Pepper jam and fresh cheese that rocked my world. I will try and come back during my next weekend trip to Lexington!
