First Parish In Lexington Unitarian Universalist

My husband and I started looking for a spiritual community about 10 years ago, when our son was 4. More than anything, we wanted him to grow up surrounded by compassionate people who were thoughtful about what they believed, and willing to work toward making the world a better place.
First Parish in Lexington is all of that and more. Not only have my husband and I made lifelong friends here, but our son has become part of a tight knit group of kids who are intelligent, creative and grounded. He’s learned the necessity of respect and consent in human relations. He’s developed gratitude for all he has after learning first-​hand about those less fortunate. And he’s had at least 1 «spiritual experience» (his own words) while out in nature on a youth group retreat.
At First Parish both adults and youth have regular opportunities to explore our beliefs, and to put them in action through a wide variety of community service and social action programs. The older I get, the more important this is to me, and this community has been such a warm and supportive place to experience this spiritual growth. I can’t say enough about how First Parish has changed our lives for the better.
