+ Kinda looks like a barn. + Good beer/wine selection for the immediate area. + Stellar employers eager to make suggestions and help you find something specific. + If you ask nicely, you may be able to tap into their secret back storage room full of rare beers. SHHH. + Dat location. + Mix and match six packs are a go. + Beef jerky by the register. + Discount booze by the front. + One time they gave me a free Koozie. — Pricey. — Poor liquor stock/variety. — Stop complaining, me.

As an out-of-towner wanting to take home some of the local product, it was a great one-stop shop. I can’t speak to prices since I was there on a mission to buy and get outta dodge, but service and selection were good.

Rude service and refused service from the same employee on multiple occasions. It’s one thing to be vigilant about fake id’s etc. near campus– but to relentlessly scrutinize legitimate patronage with legitimate state issued identification in an overtly condescending fashion is an unacceptable way to do business. As much as I enjoy the convenience and selection of LBX I will not be returning to this location! Zero stars, fire this guy. If you’re a LBX employee you probably know who I’m talking about.

Okay, there’s really no reason to stop here if you’re driving from Louisville to Knoxville, as we were, as it is nowhere near on the way… but we needed to hit a liquor store and got the recommendation from a Lexington native and decided to use it as an excuse to take the scenic route through town(Hwy 60… I think) — which turned out to be totally worth the drive and has inspired a possible return trip to Lexington to spend more time with horses and… uh… probably bourbon. The store itself was cheap, friendly, and well-stocked — but really, there’s no reason for any one in Lexington to pay attention to what I say here, as it was the one and only place we got out of the car. However, for all you road trippers out there, consider coming up with your own excuse to drive through Lexington.
