I was recently contacted by the current team from Modern Property Management because they wanted me to amend my earlier statement about not receiving a dime from them. At the time when I wrote my first review I had not received any funds from them for my house they were managing after 5 months. Some time in April they were able to pay me for one month of the rent that was paid to them. Now that that is settled, let’s see how long it will take them to pay me the remaining $ 5395 that’s owed. Now don’t get me wrong, I understand they had a dishonest employee on their payroll that stole money from the company, but I have a problem with the amount of time it took for her thievery to be caught. There had to be no checks and balance system because this went on for months. This caused this company to not only file for bankruptcy, but to not have any funds from its previous years of service to take care of the losses that were incurred. I am a home owner that put the management of my property in their hands. Thankfully I was able to pay mortgage for multiple properties at one time, but that may not have been the case for all the owners involved. Instances like what happened to them could have caused people to loose their homes. I think that this is a highly serious matter; therefore, I keep my statement as it stands. I will never recommend Modern Property Management to a soul. This is not vindictive, this is honest.

I have been a client of Modern Property Management(MPM) for more than 6 years. Speaking to prospective clients reading these reviews, please note that I am a regular Unilocaler(I have far more than one review to my name) and I am not writing a review to vent or skew ratings one way or the other– this is an honest review from a fellow Unilocaler. My partners and I originally came to MPM after we discovered serious irregularities, deficiencies, and basic incompatibilities with our prior management company. Being out-of-state investors with 156 units, having a good and compatible and reliable management company in place was critical to our business. Before we made the change to MPM we thoroughly investigated and researched every local company and several national firms then available. We narrowed our options down to 3 strong candidates, and eventually selected MPM due to their methodical approach including centralized in-house capabilities in mechanicals, maintenance, renovations and capable and experienced management staff. I experienced first-hand how methodical management and maintenance positively affected the properties, and I watched MPM successfully grow their business with satisfied clients. As a business owner myself, I have had nightmares about dealing with the type of trials and tribulations that MPM has had to endure over the last year as a result of hiring a key but dishonest employee. Having dealt with similar situations in my own businesses, I can say that MPM and staff have remained honest, ethical, communicative and are taking responsibility for the damages caused. I also understand that it can be a long road out for them and that MPM will be feeling the effects for a long time to come. The silver lining is to the benefit of present and future clients– MPM’s financial procedures are now thoroughly iron-clad, and it’s my opinion that now is the perfect time to support an efficient and honest company that truly needs our support… this a a great time to get thorough and competent services at a great rate from a tested provider.
