Dr. Olsen has a horrible demeanor with patient. After several years of his care, my family finally had enough and went elsewhere.
My «favorite» repeated moments with Dr. Olsen were his repeated berating lectures on how I had to stop drinking soda. Even 3 years after I stopped drinking soda, he insisted I still was because there was acid erosion on my teeth. I’m talking 30 minutes of being told off about how I was taking poor care of my teeth by drinking soda that I wasn’t drinking.
I finally went to another dentist. They immediately had me go to my PCP and arrange for an upper GI series because the acid erosion was clearly from acid reflux. Turns out, I have ulcers all up and down my esophagus and THIS is what has been rotting my teeth. I’d had the reflux for so long that I was used to the pain of it and barely noticed it. The decay was not the soda Dr. Olsen insisted I was drinking when I wasn’t.
Another favorite moment was when I showed up for a 8:00 am appointment. He was the only one there. I was on the schedule, but apparently, they’d forgotten. Dr. Olsen literally yelled at me about daring to show up for an appointment I was scheduled for when they weren’t able to take me.
The man needs a therapist and some prozac. I’ve been a paramedic for 10 years. I would never ever speak to a patient the way this man treats his patients. The only reason I kept going there was that his staff are good and he was my «family dentist» that my parents saw. Don’t make the same mistake that I did. Nobody deserves to be treated like this man treats his patients.
