We enjoyed a great meal for four this evening, four burgers and four sides for $ 23(I had a coupon and they gave me a survey to do while I waited on the order for a free side) great deal, good food and very affordable! Staff very courteous and store clean! Highly recommend

Looking at the reviews, I must have gone in on an off day for them. The lady that took our order was very rude, she spoke to us as if we were idiots then asked me to repeat my very simple order 6 times(smashburger no cheese). After the third time I was over it and wanted to walk out, however, I know the food service struggle and I was not about to make her day worse. The food itself wasn’t great. I was sick and on the toilet the rest of the night, as was my boyfriend. I feel as if we overpaid for a Big Mac. Needless to say, I will not be going back.

Great staff, decent food! I can’t compliment the staff enough. REREVIEWED: I must have visited on an off day because I have returned many times with my friend and the food was NOT greasy like our former experience. OLDREVIEW: I go here with a friend with Special Needs. SmashBurger Staff are always accommodating and patient with him as he eats and orders and they even changed the TV to cartoons for him! When it comes to the food it is overwhelmingly greasy. I’m taking wet greasy. Like eat your burger right as it comes out or your bun will be wet with grease. Besides that it us delicious! Ordering the classic seems to be a less greasy option(maybe because there are some vegetables on the burger to soak it up or add freshness).

I’ve been here a lot over the past year or so(thanks to winning a lot of free burger coupons in a drawing), and some of their menu items I like quite a bit. The Baja Cobb salad with grilled chicken is my go-to, but there are several burgers and chicken sandwiches I like as well. Their biggest strength is that their employees are VERY friendly and helpful. Unfortunately over the past 6 or 7 months, over half the times I’ve gone here, my order has been wrong. This isn’t a big deal when dining in since they happily fix it, but it is really frustrating when I get it to-go and don’t realize it’s wrong until I get home. Twice they’ve left the bacon off of a bacon cheeseburger… it’s in the name! I think with their prices, they should include a side item, but every time I go I receive a coupon for a free side with a purchased entrée at my next visit, so they essentially DO provide a side now but I wish they’d just make it automatic instead of requiring a coupon. I really dislike their BBQ sauce and their buffalo sauce(despite usually enjoying both types of sauce), but that’s a personal taste preference. Finally, their concept is a little weird to me in that EVERY cooking show and magazine I’ve ever encountered that addresses how to cook burgers(and there are many of them) says to NEVER smash it since you lose so much of the juice and moisture. For a company to base their entire approach to burgers around smashing them strikes me as strange.

First time at a Smashburger. The burgers and fries were amazing. The service was great and we will definitely be back again. I had the bacon burger and fries. I would like to try the milk shake the next time we eat there.

After so much hype about this place it wasn’t all that special

I recently dined at Smashburger and thought I’d cover the highlights. Ordered the Bluegrass Smashburger which is Angus beef with fried banana peppers, applewood smoked bacon, cheddar cheese, and wild turkey barbecue sauce on an egg bun. Their burgers come in two sizes: 1⁄3 pound and ½ pound. I chose ½ pound since I think it provides the better meat to bun ratio. My burger was cooked perfectly and I loved the combination of ingredients. My wife chose the Veggie Frites(fresh green beans and carrot strips, flash fried) and I selected Spicy Buffalo Fries(fries dry seasoned with Frank’s Redhot). Both were delectable and perfectly complemented by the side of ranch dressing provided. Next visit I plan on ordering the Veggie Frites with Frank’s Redhot dry seasoning added. Loved the meal and can’t wait to go back!

Food was decent. Basically higher-tier, higher-priced fast food. Customer service was excellent. The women I ordered from were super nice and gave me a free side since it was my first time. Another one gave me some coupons for other free sides when I ordered a different side to try. Food is 3 star, customer service is 5 star. Hence the 4 star rating.

I guess I was hoping for more of a «real» hamburger experience, but it turns out that Smashburger is more of a «fast food» burger experience. The food definitely isn’t worth the price, but it tasted fine. However, I was super irritated to order one of my burgers lettuce-wrapped(which they assured me they could do) and then get home to find a burger patty with absolutely no lettuce. Just a patty with the toppings on it. Lame. I won’t be back.

I waited a few days to post this review to see if I felt better about my experience. I don’t, so here goes: I waited 18 minutes for two burgers to go. The burgers were sloppily dressed and fell apart as we were eating them. Half the fries were small pieces that were too done and crunchy. Used to be a great place for a burger, but after spending $ 17 for two burgers and fries, I think this might be our last visit.

I got the kids smash burger and sweet potato fries. What a nice surprise to see that you could switch to sweet potato instead of the standard fries The service was quick and friendly. Free wifi is always a bonus. The dining room was clea clean as well..

Good food but bad service. I’d much rather go to the one by campus. You do feel like a guest but more trouble than anything else. Very much a fast food feel.

Smashburger puts all other burger places to shame. The burgers would make the most stubborn dieter fall off the wagon, right into a dish of smash-fries. Top it all off with amazing service. It makes me wish we had one of these near my home(although my waistline is crying in relief). They accidentally gave my husband the wrong burger; he didn’t notice that it was a smaller version of what he ordered until he had a couple of bites. Not only did they promptly make him the correct sandwich, wrapped to go, with a free side item coupon, the staff was beyond some of the nicest I’ve encountered. I just can’t rave enough about this place.

Came back for another visit to try their much-hyped salads, to give their lighter fare a chance in the spotlight. I selected the Baja Cobb salad, which touts fresh greens, avocado, jalapeños, bacon, and a chipotle dressing. I also asked them to add the grilled chicken, since I thought it sounded good. I have to be honest. The salad was totally worth the hype. Everything was garden fresh, with lots of variety in the greens. The chicken was well-seasoned and grilled to perfection. The salad overall was HUGE! I could have easily split it with another person, but honestly, it was so good, I’m not sure I’d be able to. As much as it pains me to say it, they could probably open up a chain called SmashSalad and it would give Vinaigrette a run for it’s money.

If you love hamburgers, Smash Burger will send you to the moon! The burgers are juicy and require multiple napkins. For spice, try the Spicy Baja. Jalapeños, sauce, and guacamole. The fries are thin and crisp. Get the smashfries to kick it up with Rosemary pesto. The fried pickles are crunchy and flavorful. Even the onion rings are crisp and lightly breaded. Basically, go here. Enjoy. Laugh. Cry. Become one.

I’ll start this review the same way that I started my other SB review last year of the other location. Usually I’m not a burger fan, but I like to venture out every now and then. Everytime I’ve tried SB I’ve not had a complaint. I recommend the buffalo chicken sandwich. It’s topped with blue cheese, or you can request it without it. They stopped serving the buffalo chicken sandwich for a while but then, by popular demand, they brought it back. Speaking of buffalo, they have buffalo seasoned fries! They are are a bit salty, but that’s how I like my fries. They also serve several different beer options, including Kentucky Ale. Fast casual restaurants are taking over the Lexington restaurant scene, and I like it. This is my kind of fast food. This is a franchise, but the owner is local. He owns this location, the one close to campus and soon will open one in Nicholasville. I love that SB is Unilocal friendly. Last week, they closed the restaurant and hosted a group of Unilocalers to a smörgåsbord of their sides and burgers. While some people who weren’t part of the event were turned away, the owner was very gracious and gave them coupons.

Fresh, hot & delicious! This is one of the better burger places to go in town, and if you’re not in the mood for beef you can choose crispy or grilled chicken, or go vegetarian and try the black bean burger. I’ve had the chance to sample a few different burgers, so here are my recommendations: The Classic Smash is a very juicy burger that you can’t go wrong with; the Truffle Mushroom & Swiss is probably my favorite — it has a great flavor; and the Bluegrass Burger is fantastic with the Wild Turkey BBQ sauce and bacon. If you’re feeling more adventurous, try the Spinach Cucumber Goat Cheese burger or the Avocado Club — both of these are amazing! Complete your order with Smash Fries(garlic, rosemary and olive oil drizzle — yum!), or the buffalo fries if you want a little kick. Grab a KY Ale, a fountain Ale-8, or a delicious milkshake(Nutter Butter is my favorite!). However you decide to design your meal, you are going to really love this place. Give it a try!
