This is an awesome place. The sushi was great as well as the service. I highly recommend the Kentucky Derby Roll for those like myself who like chicken better than fish. We will definitely be back. My husband said this is new favorite place for sushi!

I’ve been to my fair share of sushi restaurants but Sushi Blue might be the best one I’ve been to in Lexington, if not in my entire experience. I been here multiple times and tried just about everything they have to offer. I don’t really write about ambience and such since my stomach and pallet are judgemental enough. But both were dully impressed by Sushi Blue. It goes without saying that the specialty here is the sushi, which is delicious and fresh. The head chef Mr. Kim has a couple of very unique takes on his sushi rolls. But what really won me over was their adventurous ramen that blends the classic vibe of ramen with new concepts such as bulgogi and cheese.(Definitely try the bulgogi ramen). Mr. Kim also pits a lot of effort into the presentation of his dishes which pays dividends on creating an air of class. Now only if they offered delivery…

Went there with co-workers/friend for lunch. I was taken aback a bit as there was no one else except us during lunch time but I guess bc of holiday season everyone was gone shopping. Ordered California roll and«heart attack sushi».it was sort of sad bc I realized my coworker don’t like sushi. Geez thanks for not telling me. End of ordering chicken ramen and chicken teriyaki. California rolls were ok. Heart attack sushi rolls were good. Ramen was decent and coworker said that their teriyaki was good but I am not sure bc they didn’t finish it or Even packed to go. Owner is very nice. Décor is ok. I do need to go again to get a real feel. Overall pretty decent but I gotta return with some friends who actually like sushi:))

SUSHI Blue is my favorite sushi place in lexington, the menu is huge, maybe too large but interesting and delicious. Two of my favorite choices are the fried avocado with crab salad and the flaming sushi. It’s smokey and omg good. The only negative –service is good but don’t go if you’re in a hurry — so we go when we can have a leisurely dinner.

It was date night and after watching a movie, we decided to grab a late dinner. After seeing a sushi spot in the same parking lot as the theater, we were inspired. That place didn’t get great Unilocal reviews so we found Sushi Blue and decided to give it a try and I’m glad we did. Although the parking lot is in an pretty quiet in a barren shopping center, the ambiance inside was perfect. The atmosphere and music were relaxing. We were greeted and seated quickly by a friendly host. We ended up ordering three rolls(Philly roll, Rainbow roll & Pasadena roll) and the veggie gyoza to share. The gyoza were delicious. The other three rolls were fresh and very tasty. They were probably the best rolls we’ve had since moving to Lexington. Overall, a great experience and tasty, fresh food. We will be back. Nice job Sushi Blue.

My husband is not a fan of sushi whatsoever. It’s the texture. When I found this place had a few deep fried rolls to shut him up; off we went. So far I have tried almost every roll they have and to date my favorite is the Pasadena Roll. Seaweed salad is good, not too keen on the presentation in a martini glass, but hey, it works. Prices are fair. They do not scrimp. The place is clean and relaxing.

The sashimi rice bowl($ 12.95) provides better value than the sashimi lunch($ 11.95), because the former has a lot of vegetables and a very generous portion of sashimi. However, both are good choices. With only two servers and about 9 tables during lunch time, service is a bit slow: it took at least 5 minutes for the server to take the drink order and another 10 minutes to place the lunch order. Refills did not come until we asked and there was a small discrepancy in the drink order. But I am not deducting a star for service.

When I first reviewed Sushi Blue, I broke one of my own rules. I never give 5 stars to a Restaurant I’ve only been to once. Now that I’ve had a chance to visit a few times, I can honestly say they consistently have some of the best sushi I’ve ever had; anywhere. The staff has been great every time I’ve been, both dining in and taking out. I sat at the sushi bar once and the chef was great to talk to. He even gave me a complimentary hand roll! I wouldn’t ever expect that again, but it was a nice(and delicious) gesture. My only previous complaint was a smell that a few reviewers also noticed. I haven’t noticed it lately, so I’m happy to see they are listening to us! Go read my previous review for all the details, but this is a place you shouldn’t pass up.

I liked sushi blue but I didn’t think it was the best sushi I’ve had in Lexington. My dinner companion and I shared the $ 46 sushi combo for 2 people. I would have appreciated salad and soup for 2 people as well, but theirs only comes with an order of 1 of each. For $ 46 an added soup and salad wouldn’t cost them much, and the other places do it. But otherwise, the sushi was fresh. We ordered the jalapeños appetizer as well. It was very tasty but not spicy at all. I would come back, but try to make it in time for the lunch specials instead of the regular menu.

Back for round 2 and another solid win. Excellent fish, great presentation, and an atmosphere that pulls it all together. Chef K creates a perfect sushi experience. Sari and I ordered Maguro, Sake, Shiro Maguro, Hamachi, Unagi, Ikura, Tai, Tako, Hotate, Masago, and Wasabi Tobiko. Every piece of fish and bit of roe was perfect. Chef K gave us a taste of baby octopus which we hadn’t had before.(We promptly ordered the baby octopus salad; try it if you like Tako. It’s marinated; served cold and it’s just slightly sweet with a hint of soy sauce and sesame.) Owners Chef K and Sarah were hospitable and accommodating and we will be regulars here.
