Went to dinner with friends today for private dinning event. Location pretty good. Parking they have valet or can park in garage. They had an event going today. We parked it garage. I went ahead and ordered Cosmo from cocktail menu as had«that kind of day at work» and I was delighted. In Appetizers, I got mini crab cake and tomatoes mozzarella bruschetta. Between these two, I like bruschetta. didn’t like crab cake much. Then came bread which was great. I actually like whole grain bread but everyone around me sort of forced me to try which I m glad I did. It was awesome. Then arrived salad which was decent. nothing amazing about it. y cocktail was too good so had to order another one. In entrée, I ordered organic salmon which came with mashed potatoes and asparagus. Salon was great, mashed potatoes also but I like my asparagus more crunchy side. Beautiful dish. By this time I was too full. Sort of tipsy so I decided to take my time and decided to have coffee… I decided to have cheese cake to go. I really like my first time visit. I will be back soon with hubby for some special occasion. Exceptional Service, great ambience:))))

Best experience Ive had in Lexington. The food was fabulous, the ambiance was perfect, the drinks were on point and the staff/service was impeccable. I can’t say anything better about the place. We had a raw bar to start with jumbo prawns and king crab as well as the most melt in your mouth crab cake. I had a 9 oz barrel cut filet($ 39) Oscar style($ 8)… Melt in my mouth at a perfect mid rare. My companions had the surf and turf… perfection. After dinner dessert was delicious as well. A great Chianti($ 10) put the whole experience as one of the best I’ve had. It is a bit pricey, but if you’re a foodie like me… it’s beyond worth it.

Enjoyed a fantastic«steakhouse experience» with my valentine and 4 other couples on Valentines weekend. I ordered the 12oz barrelhouse filet with a complimenting lobster tail preceded with a house Caesar. the filet was cooked perfectly to just shy of medium and was served, by choice, Oscar style and was superb. The accompanying lobster tail did not disappoint either. The caesar that preceeded was a perfect setup for the steak and lobster. Let me not forget the asparagus that was deliciously part of the«oscar style.» For most a glass of wine would have been the ultimate compliment however a cranberry vodka made good sipping along the journey. The experience wasn’t cheap however in my opinion very worthwhile. The service was trying to keep up with the food however did not. Notch up the service experience a tad and the night would have been perfect. Nice addition to Lexington.

I received a gift certificate to this Resturant. I knew this place was a little more pricey than some of the other eateries in the downtown area. First of all the bar area is very trendy and casual. After being seated, the waitress took our orders. The food was incredible, worth the price paid. We ordered calamari. I’ve had calamari in other establishments that was as good as Tony’s but not as big. It was a nice starter. We ordered a house salad that was good but nothing spectacular. Our main dish arrived, the filet, which was incredible. Cooked a perfect medium. Sweet potatoes were awesome. Some of the best I have ever had. Bake potato was a nice addition to our filet. Overall the service and food were top notch. The only bad, and the reason I couldn’t give them 5 stars. It was very loud. Couldn’t even enjoy conversation with my wife. A small band playing in the corner of the bar area added to the noise level. Not sure if it was quieter on the other side of the Resturant. Overall my experience was positive. Would definitely place this Resturant in my rotation.

Walked in before Kentucky game on 2⁄9 and was packed. Didn’t have a reservation but they didn’t forget us and found us a seat. Waiter was great. Oysters and tartar were very tasty. The bone in filet and bone in ribeye were on point. Sides were excellent. I eat in louisville at Jeff Rubys and Tony’s is rite there with JR. It’s a steak house so get a steak. You won’t be sorry.

Excellent food. Steaks perfectly prepared. Brussel sprouts were the best ever. Don’t go if you are in a hurry. It was a 2 hr meal for us. I could go for different music. A little too big city for me. Won’t stop me from going back!

Amazing restaurant, wonderful pastas! It’s becoming quite the hotspot, too! A few months ago, zombie movie director George A. Romero(who was in town for Scarefest at nearby Rupp Arena) stopped in!

What a wonderful restaurant. The service was phenomenal — Larry gave us great suggestions and encouraged us to try things we wouldn’t otherwise have ordered(like the crab cake, which was amazing). We had constant refills of our waters and wine, and the timing of the entire meal was perfect. The food was amazing from start to finish. I don’t think you can go wrong from the salad to the steak to the fish to the sides and desserts. Loved the live music! We will absolutely come back. Nice work to everyone at Tony’s!

Best food in Lexington. I’ve lived here and eaten at a hundred different restaurants over the past 40 years. There are places(not many) that are just as expensive but I’ve never had the quality of food anywhere to match Tony’s. If you can afford it you must go!

I had many meals at this place since it opened. The food is good. But the over all experience is horrible. Starting with the hostesses, they are very indifferent and not courteous. The wait staff are average. So I go there for a quick meal at the bar, not a place for fine dining.

Visiting Lexington for the 1st time I was told Tony’s was the place to go downtown for Steaks and ambiance, so off we go here on Breeders cup weekend. A flight delay had us missing our original reservation but they were kind enough to push as back an hour when we called even on this jamming Thursday night. Arrive to a very Modern upscale looking steakhouse with huge bar to the left plenty of TV’s and high tops with a little music which unfortunately can not be heard when in the dining rooms as the acoustics in short are LOUD. With both upstairs more quiet dining and downstairs bustling crowd we are seated nicely mid restaurant. We were not starving this evening so we skipped the appetizers and went straight for the Steaks. 1st off a wonderful fresh hot sourdough bread was provided with soft whipped cream butter. Wine list was average priced with your standard 100% markup for your high end steakhouse. Wine poured off we go. NY Strip 16OZ Dry Aged no bone $ 42.00 All steaks are«Charred» no need to ask for it that way while inside was slightly under cooked for Medium. Heavy seasoning of peppers go with the char giving the outside a salty flavor while the meat itself was extremely tasty I couldn’t put my finger on something. For an under cooked steak there was almost NOBLOOD… very strange. a quick visit to the broiler got it to proper temp but not sure just had a really strange taste to it. The porterhouse was equally under cooked with almost RAW again no blood. a visit to the broiler cured the temp part but still can’t figure out the taste… Fried onion strings on every dish were tasty Sides Garlic Mashed excellent Sauteed Spinach with Bacon top shelf Mixed sautee of Brussel Sprouts, Onions and mushrooms was interesting and good Service strong even on very busy night Manager came over twice to insure everything was to our liking apologized for the under cooking. Skipped desert but they had some serious looking bread pudding going by. All and all a very nice evening not withstanding the temperature of the steak… Nice atmosphere and good quality food with excellent service.

Positives: two words– THEFOOD. Like, all the food. As in, it was amazing! We had the crab cake, tomato mozzarella salad, age dried steak, truffle fries, braised short ribs and the crème brûlée. Each item was beyond luxurious, and those truffle fries are huge! The steak was juicy and smoky, a bit pricey but you get what you pay for. The service was beyond fantastic, the manager actually gave us a free dessert when he found out that I am pregnant, how sweet is that? On another visit we actually got to meet Tony who went to each table and introduced himself. Negatives: Honestly, really nothing. It gets a bit loud in the evening but that wasn’t big deal for us. Our server the second time around was a bit rushed and more interested in serving the big 12 person table instead of us. But he wasn’t rude to us, so I suppose we can’t complain much there either. Our server the first time must have come from server heaven(maybe his name was Josh or something… I can’t remember) but he was so nice, helpful and made our visit enjoyable. The Vibe: Classy meets casual because the bar area is open so even if you are in the«dining» area you still can sort of see and hear the bar side so it does make it a bit more of a causal feel, less intimidating. You never go a second without feeling cared for and the food is unique and delicious. This is our new date night spot! Did I mention the manager is amazing? Gentlemen with glasses and dressed to the nines, he really seems to like his job and is great at it!

Oh. My. God. This is now my favorite restaurant. I went in with a group of friends. Between us, we had 6 cocktails, 2 appetizers, 4 meals, 3 sides, and 3 desserts.($ 300 total bill) Every single thing that we ate had us going«You HAVE to try this!» The crab cake was better than my 10 year reminiscence of a trip to Baltimore. The short ribs were as tender as Grandma’s pot roast, but more flavorful. The sea bass was the best I’ve ever had and even the freaking BARLEY made me drool. The crème brûlée was on par with the Eiffel Tower in Vegas, which I had forlornly assumed would never be matched. The lemon brulee cheesecake was a masterpiece. The service was top-notch and attentive without hovering. My water glass never emptied, which is impressive. Courses were timed perfectly, and plates and flatware were cleared promptly. I left happy and very, very full, and I will quickly become a regular at Tony’s.

We noticed this place by just walking by one day and decided to go for a friend’s birthday, as a party of 8(four couples). First off– the ambiance is fantastic. We loved the shades of grey and the vintage ceiling tiles mixed with the herringbone wooden floors and modern vibe. We were surprised that the waiter started taking the men’s drink orders first, but let it slide. I ordered a bourbon cocktail with ginger syrup(made in house) and lime. It was so good I had to have a second! The bread was wonderful with its flaky outside crust. The crab cake, appetizer was almost 100% crab and very tasty, but no dipping sauce, so that disappointed me a bit. The steak… according to my husband, they nailed it. Best steak in town. The salmon(my entrée)… not so much! I was truly disappointed. For $ 33 it was crunchy on the outside(overcooked) and the cut of fish was a tail piece– very thin and small. I pick out better cuts of salmon at Kroger, but seriously… there is room for improvement in both the salmon seasoning and cut/cooking method. The salmon tasted a bit salty and came with a side of green beans and the whole plate was sprinkled with red peppercorns, which I kept biting into occasionally and I must say, they were a bit too much and overbearing in taste. Additionally, it is courtesy to offer a lemon on the side with seafood. This came with no lemon, no sauce, very plain Jane. We shared a mac and cheese side that was decent but nothing to write home about. A little panko crusting on top… but we ARE mac and cheese snobs. We both had baked potatoes, which ended up being way too much food– we wished we hadn’t ordered them. Our friends loved the bourbon whipped sweet potatoes, which were very thin like baby food instead of a mashed potato consistency. We had a chocolate cake with layers of cheesecake or something vanilla– it isn’t on the online menu so I don’t remember, exactly. The folks at our table seemed to really like it. I like that this place takes reservations on Open Table. I do not like the valet– they only accept cash(we were sure that they would do square or allow us to add it to our bill inside, but we guessed wrong!) and they park the cars a bit far away(lot beside the Village Idiot), so it takes a while to get your car, unless you remember to give your valet ticket to the server(I wish he had thought to ask, which would have reminded us). All-in-all… we will likely visit again, but I will be sure to try another seafood entrée to see how it measures up. And I was sure to get the valet manager’s phone number before leaving to offer up a polite complaint about that service.

The best steak value in Lexington, and it’s not crazy expensive, but it’s not free. The seafood is expertly seasoned and cooked, not overcooked. Had the shrimp cocktail and the best damn crab cakes. The NY strip is perfectly seasoned. Their speciality is the dry-aged strip for a little more. The spinach or asparagus is wonderful. The bar is fully stocked for you bourbon or other beer clear liquor drinkers. A full wine list is also available. Thank God the air conditioner works because the place is «hot».

I love the location! It’s in the heart of downtown Lexington where parking can be a problem, but not here because they offer valet parking. Here is my take of my three and a half star experience. Keep in mind that I’m not a steak eater, so I’ll round it up to a four because they apparently have great steak. When we walked in on a Friday around 6 pm, I approached the hostess stand. There were three people behind the hostess stand, which seemed a bit awkward. It was early in the evening, the must strive to be over staffed. Anyways, one of the hostesses mumbled something about the open seating in the bar area and the place mats on the table. We must’ve chose the wrong one because the waiter was quick to point out that we should’ve chose a table that was already set. I guess I was thinking that the tables made were for guests who had reservations. My first observation/recommendation, especially during an overstaffed downtime is that the hostess point out which tables are available or better yet, take people to a table. The starter bread and butter were some of the best that I’ve ever had. The butter was plentiful and creamy. I ordered the fish tacos from the bar menu. The order came with three overstuffed soft tacos that were indescribably excellent. I randomly noticed one item was $ 1 more on the regular menu than in the bar menu. I finished with the NY style cheesecake and I must say that it too was some of the best cheesecake that I’ve ever had. The waiter’s assistant was very attentive and on top of things, our waiter however was strange. It started when I used the wrong napkin and he said something like«we at least try to be a little fancy around here». Um, I eat out a lot and never remember a cloth napkin used as a placemat… so now I know and I’ll look out for that in the future. Then my husband had a slight issue with his meal and the waiter’s response was«awesome». I will say that the manager later came out and was very professional.

It tasted great going down. It did NOT taste good coming back up. I got food poisoning from eating here! I had a delicious steak with crab meat and asparagus on top. It was very tasty at the time. Also, the spinach and mac and cheese appetizer was great. Our server was very attentive, polite, and informative. The drinks were so-so. All and all I was happy about my meal until the next day when it all went downhill. I was sick the ENTIRE next day.

Went last Friday night on a whim, ended up being incredibly happy with the experience. I mean, the paint still smells new on the walls, but I’m really hoping this place survives. Lexington doesn’t have a steakhouse. In all honesty, the closest they have doesn’t compare. When I want a steak, I go to Jeff Ruby’s or Eddie Merlot’s. Both of those franchises are in Louisville or Cincinnati. Finally, finally Lexington gets one. There is another Tony’s in Cinci, and it’s been alive long enough to compete with the big boys, I can see why. I had the steak tartare to start… which was one of the best I’ve ever had. The NY Strip was cooked perfectly and the truffle wedges were awesome. Service was spot on at the bar where I ate. Great list of drinks, very happy to go. For Lexington, this is up there with Coles and Dudleys for best restaurant in its respective field of food service within Lexington. Honestly, the steak wasn’t as good as I’d get at Ruby’s or a Capital Grille, let alone a few other high end places… but to have a damn good steak within walking distance comperable to the best places out there gives me a warm and fuzzy inside. I’m basically complaining about getting a steel case Rolex instead of an 18k gold one… why complain, it’s all good. Can’t wait to go back.
