I was visiting Wild Fig since it was previously Morgan Adams bookstore and went out of business. The owners of Wild Fig swooped in to save it, and have ended up with this wonderfully quaint shop in a part of town that is perfectly suited for what it provides. There are a ton of new and used books to look through, and now you can relax with your new purchase and have some coffee and great pastries. They also host events at times which would more than likely not be held anywhere else. The staff is incredibly nice and fun to talk to, which is important for a place like this. I stopped in one blustery Sunday and had a blast looking through the shelves and talking with the people behind the counter. Ended up buying a scarf and some comics that I had been looking for. I’ll definitely be back and I hope this place sticks around for a long, long time.

Great little shop on North Limestone. Stopped in yesterday on our Unofficial Unilocal Event when a few Unilocalers Hit North Limestone. The workers were very friendly and easy to talk to. They offer a variety of drinks and snacks to enjoy while there. I mean they are a regular coffee shop, but also a small selection of books. The books here are very well priced with a mixture of new and used. Great concept actually. They have a couple different seating areas and tables. After chatting with the lady behind the counter, they were impressing me even more. They also offer reading and other type workshops for children. Love this idea. Great way to help educate and promote education/reading with our youth. Way to make a positive impact on the North Limestone neighborhood.

This place is a must for any Lexingtonian who loves to shop local or books in general. This day, I decided to make a day of it and hit up several bookstores and boutiques. This was my first stop. Each Lexington bookstore is different in it’s only sort of way. I love the library, so I think the idea of reselling books is a genius concept. Not all of the books here are used, but the ones that are used generally cost less than my average library book late fine. My daughter asked for a special paperback book and the owner blurted out the author and immediately pointed out the location of the book. They had several used copies of it for a bit over $ 2 each. I don’t know which I was more impressed by, the fact that the price was so low or the fact that the owner knew his inventory so well. After speaking with several other local book store owners, the trend is that they’re very intelligent and passionate about their store. I learned a different side of the meaning of shop local and I may never go back to the library again… well maybe for a class or seminar. There was also a sitting and a study area here. There was a group of ladies who seemed to be having some sort of meeting or study. I bet this would be a great place to host such things.

These guys are great. They have kids books, novels, classics, sci-fi and any other categories. Their used book section is really strong and they don’t ke you feel like anther amazon customer. Buy from them!
