I’ve had everything from breakfast to dessert here and I have not been disappointed by anything I have tried. You cant beat there lunch specials that are usually 8 $ that come with tons of food and include a drink. The people who work at this place are always friendly and do a good job of running the place. Service is a tad slow, but nothing to really complain about. There’s not much to eat in Liberty Hill where I work so I’m really glad I found this place.

I’m hesitant to post a review for this place as it is sort of a secret spot at the moment, where we’re always able to find a table, but that would be selfish of me. This place is great for a tasty meal with the family at a reasonable price. Meatloaf is great, chicken fried steak is great, fried chicken is great(almost ate my kids portion as well), and the desserts are large and tasty! Oh and don’t forget to start with some fried pickles(served chip style with ranch dressing).

Came in on a Sunday morning around 930. This is a true old fashioned home grown local businesses. My kind of place. The place wasn’t too busy and we were promptly seated. Coffee and was good and after a few minutes a waitress too our order. My wife ordered biscuits and gravy, I ordered the French toast with scrambled eggs and bacon. Our orders arrived quick and hot. Both dishes were very good. I’ll be back to try something else. I’d much rather support local business when possible

So, I’m glad I gave this place a second chance after my previous poor customer service experience. This time we were greeted with in a minute and brought menus and the food was really good! Our waitress was pretty attentive as well. All in all, I will definitely be back. The only reason this place isn’t 5 star is because lack of options on the menu — it’s pretty limited in terms of options. So go see them for a yummy breakfast!!!

Strike 3 and you are out, Hobo Depot. When we use to go there, the food wasn’t bad and we got exactly what we ordered. The last 3 times we went, they messed up our order and one time we left feeling sick. Pepto Bismoth had to save the day. This morning was the last straw and was the worst service that we have ever received in our lives. First we waiting an hour for our food, while others that came in after us, were served and left before we got our food. They tried to deliver the same plate to our table 3 times within 5 minutes, even though we kept telling them it was the wrong order. The other orders were completely wrong as well. They even insinuated we lied about ordering toast and then argued and insisted that we did. The only thing mentioned about toast was«extra potatoes instead of toast.,» but they served biscuits right on top of the omelets. They wanted to just scrape off the biscuits, even though I mentioned it was a cross contamination issue and had to be remade. We decided we better walk out at this point instead of taking any chances. So thanks to the worst service we have ever had in our lives, we decided we would walk out and go to Jardin Del Rey and eat chips while we wait for our food. The Mexicans treated us so well, delicious food delivered before 10 minutes and the order was completely correct right down to every detail. The Mexican got a good tip from us today. So Hobo Depot, if the Mexicans can do it, why can’t you? Must be you lack communication skills, people skills, and management skills. So, if you like so-so food with poor service, then you will probably like this place. But don’t complain, or they will treat you even worse. Better yet, spend your money somewhere else where they will appreciate your business.

Gotta get the breakfast tacos! They won a blue ribbon for their chicken fried steak a couple years ago, I highly recommend try it!

Hubby really wanted to eat here, so I went along with it. Didn’t get a good feeling when there was hardly anyone in the parking lot and we where the first for lunch. So needless to say I had that feeling. Bathroom was ok but had slight smell and the wall was right by the kitchen sink. So lots of noise. Order chicken fingers which where just standard chicken fingers and greasy. Hubby had order it with mash potatoes and fries. Mash potatoes tasted like instant stuff and the fries greasy. The gravy was bland and watery. Hubby had a burger that he says was good and greasy, like he likes. Also had ordered fried pickles, which I normally jump at the bit to eat. But one look I saw to much greasy for me. All and all, was not worth the $ 30 bucks I spent! Really wish was able to go to Mighty Fine like I wanted to.

This is now ‘The Good Stop’. Hubby and I thought we’d try it out. Things went downhill even before we opened the front door. We both got a big whiff of their septic tank. Not sure what was going on, but we lost our appetite. Although we still ate there, wasn’t worth going back. Sorry!

What an awesome wonderful dump of a place to eat while on your way to your angioplasty. This is quite a trip for me to get to from work but I sneak away anyway. Years ago the chicken fried steak was recommended to me so we made a special trip out to try it. Now I’m a junky and need my Hobo CFS fix every few months. I can feel it coming on when my heart begins pumping freely because the previous batch of lipids have finally been processed out by my organs or lodged in the arteries in my heart. CFS with mashed potatoes, fried okra, and double gravy. I’ve died and gone to CFS heaven. Really, I prolly did. It’s out of the way and kinda scary to walk into if you frequent joints in The Arboretum area but God bless them for keeping it real! This is no place for yuppies, sagger trash, or trendy little 20-something brats. Go away.
