This place has a little something for everyone and reasonably priced. Don, one of the owner is a very welcoming, gregarious gentleman who comfortably kept us engaged in conversation while we were there. He even remembered that we’d been there almost a year ago! We welcome the interaction because its not just about«things» in a store. It’s the whole experience and the human interaction(or lack of) certainly contributes to ones experience in a space! We were also greeted at the door by their cute resident cat who occasionally sought my attention as I wandered through. Martha’s offers furniture(some re-finished by Martha!), knick-knacks, glassware, clothing, instruments, some vintage electronics, etc… It’s laid out like a flea market with pathways to wander, explore and discover, yet not to the point where you have to dig through dirty items and dark crevasses like some places I’ve been to in this area. It’s all relative. The more organized, well-placed and polished the merchandise and store, the more you’re going to pay and the narrower the negotiation! Their place is well lit and friendly. Personally, I like to have to «rummage» a bit. It reminds me of my days forging around in my great-grandmother’s attic. You never know what you’ll discover! We found a wonderful mid century Magnavox floor model record player. The long conical legs could be removed making it usable as a table-top unit. Don was very honest as to it’s working capacity.(ITWORKS! but needs an adjustment) We liked as a piece of furniture, if nothing else. The fact that it worked was icing on the cake. I also found a set of these great mid century cordial/shot glasses w/brass removable brass bases. Never seen anything quite like them before. The price was great so we added them as well. After leaving to the bakery shop across the street, Don came running over to suggest a couple of Liberty’s best restaurants — Yiasou and Piccolo Paese. We hit Yiasou this time — great suggestion! We’ll be back!
