This is the first time I have ever reviewed a restaurant on Unilocal but I want to inform the weary travelers about this hole in the wall bar.
I was on my way home from Watkins Glen when my girlfriend and I stumbled this bar. We were tired and hungry and looking for a bar to watch the Jets game. I ordered chicken fingers and my girlfriend ordered a cheeseburger. The chicken fingers were burnt and the honey mustard sauce had breading in it which another customer had probably used. And the cheeseburger which was ordered medium well was burnt on the outside and pink on the inside with the cheese not even melted on top. I do not recommend this bar to any weary travelers looking for a bite to eat. I hope the proprietor who seemed to be a passionate chef at one point in his career can rectify this dilemma.

I’m not going to rant. It was all bad. Waited about 45 minutes for a burger and a grilled cheese. At one point (about 40 minutes in) we were going to leave and were told «2 seconds». 10 minutes later my order was wrong, the fries were cold and the burger was over cooked. The owner, who was looped, came over and tried to explain it away. I’m not a snob and usually pretty easy going. This was just downright ridiculous. Between going there and writing this, that is quite enough time spent on this place.

The food here is fantastic in my opinion. They have so many good things to choose from. I highly recommend the wimpy burger. Also some of the best buffalo wings in Sullivan County. Chicken quesadilla is fantastic as well.

Best place in town! Coming from a food lover, McCabes shocked us for our lunch! Wing combo was perfect & tasted great! Burgers were delicious & huge! Steak fries and onion rings cooked perfectly! … And the ribs?! OMG the ribs… Overall, sweet people, amazing food, & relaxed atmosphere! What more could you ask for?! Oh yeh, the beer was chilled just right!

If you are looking for a place to relax, this the place to go.
The food is Great. The staff is friendly. And best of all Best prices are reasonable and possibly the best in town.
I recommend it to all friends and no one has ever been dissatisfied

We pulled off of the highway here and enjoyed a pleasant lunch. It was exactly what we wanted.
The bartender was very nice and had great drink recommendations. The other customers were pleasant to talk to and spoke very highly of the place.
For food my gf got the lunch special which was spicy stuffed peppers. They were very good and nice and spicy as advertised. I got a pulled pork sandwich which was nice and smoky and freshly made from slow cooked pork that was roasting most of the day. The sandwich was tender and tastes great with some fries as a side.
The bar at first glance seemed a little messy, but by the end, we realized its charm. A nice place to stop by on our way.
