Dean Perkins ripped me off. I’d bought a table from him before and it was beautiful, so I thought he was trustworthy. I ordered chairs for it and paid for them up front(learning experience for me, for sure). Bottom line — never got the chairs. Dean made excuse after excuse, one sob story after another. I bought it for far too long, but as the months dragged on and on it eventually became clear this guy simply stole my money. I tried the BBB and a couple other options. I’m out of state so I didn’t bother suing him. I Googled«tree spirit tables» just now to see if he was still in business and happened to see this Unilocal page. I’m glad Google is showing this as a top result so people can avoid getting ripped off. I’ll say this: the guy does good work. Just make SURE you don’t give him any money in advance.

I would strongly recommend that you not buy anything from Tree Spirit Tables that requires deposit. We placed an order for a custom desk from Dean Perkins, the owner, in April 2007, he said he would have it completed in October 2007. In January 2008 he finally admitted he was not building our desk nor did he have our deposit to return to us. We worked through the regional Maryland Consumer Protection Agency to have him pay back our deposit in installments, but now he is not even doing that. Looks like we will have to take him to court. He does not run an honest business.
