One of my favorite places for delicious food. Always fresh food and always good. Order ahead if you don’t have time to wait. It takes a while since they make it fresh, but so worth the wait! Definitely recommend!!!

One of the best restaurants in libertyville. All you have to do is order in advance!

Friggin great. In my opinion, definitely the best lunch spot in libertyville. Small drawback — they take a while, but hey good food doesn’t come in 3 minutes from a drive through window

Arrived early because the reviews indicate that there is a lunch crowd that exacerbates the wait. I was just about to leave at 1103 after leaving a voice mail for the owner(s) as there was no sign of activity and the place was still unopened. Gentlemen pulls up just as I am about to drive away and apologies for the delay and attributes to the«construction». Skeptical to say the least. The reviews are favorable and I had already driven well out of my way… cash only? Weird. I have high hopes the food was worth the hassle. More to follow.

Finally tried this place … yay ! Very nice man took my order and I asked for it to go. Took about 15 minutes for them to have it ready. With every meal they give you a drink and choice of fresh fruit or chips. Once I got home I was a little disappointed on the portion size. For what you pay you don’t get your monies worth. Still was delicious will try again.

The grilled portobello, goat cheese, flat bread and veggies is outstanding. To avoid disappointment, here are the ground rules with Bite 9. It took me several visits to get over them only accepting cash. The others are: call in your order. They are slow! But that’s ok, because they are all made to order and grilled with a seasoning and char that will have you smile. Also, this is really a lunch or takeout kind of place. Don’t expect to have a restaurant feel. Think about it as if Dominos and a Gordon Ramsey restaurant had a baby.

Good food, but they do not accept credit cards, sorry but this is 2015, if I happen to have cash it’s an option. Not today

Not quite sure how to review this place because I’m not sure it knows what it is. Is it a take out place? Not sure as there are cute tables with flowers and nicely decorated. OK, so it’s an «eat in» place… well, not so fast… we decided to eat in and when the food arrived it was delivered to the table all sealed up as if we didn’t tell them we were eating here. The odder thing was that once the food was dropped off at table… Never once did we see anyone again… Not to see how we liked the food(salmon was great and vegetables were grilled and well seasoned) nor to see if we wanted anything else. Totally weird. Odd to sit in a cute eating area with not one interaction with anyone. Now the food was great but I think it’s a take out place! They probably should have decked the place out with couches not tables as they are sending a really mixed message. My advice: call ahead and just pick it up and eat at home. Great food!!!

I have reviewed this place in the past because the food is so outstanding. Super delicious. But tonight when I went in to place an order, I was told they no longer accept credit cards. Really??? How do you operate a restaurant in the 21st century and not accept credit cards??? So I went down the street and paid literally HALF the cost for a grilled fish dinner at Fodraks, which was quite fine too. Huge disappointment.

Just had lunch at Bit 9 in libertyville. Menu: small menu with lots of fresh, and organic options. All of the food is made fresh to order, with lots of veggies included in each dish. Each meal is served with a bottles drink, and a bag of chips. Dining experience: small dining room with only four tables that each seat two people. I came here not knowing what to expect, and was surprised when I walked in and found that this was not a full service restaurant based on the location in downtown libertyville. The food is served either on a disposable paper plate, or a tin to-go container. Definatley not a place to bring any groups, dates, or family dining. Bite 9 is more of a take-out/to-go restaurant. Food: I ordered a shrimp grilled plate based on a suggestion from the cashier. For $ 16 the portion was nothing to brag about. However the food was fresh, and well seasoned. I do think it was slightly over priced, yet I would come back based on the good quality and taste. If you like fresh food, organic or vegetarian options then Bite 9 is great spot for you. Overall I have it a 3 star based on the price, and the lack of dining experience, and comfort.

Don’t let the impatient Libertyville office drones scare you away! This place in unbelievable! What an awesome place to have in Libertyville. The owner is no-nonsense and obsessed with quality. What does that mean? That means it might take a couple minutes because everything is made to order. Don’t want to wait? CALLITIN! They are super accommodating. The food: EXTREMELYFRESH and flavorful. Proper Mediterranean style seasoning and well-cooked chicken, salmon and veggies. I don’t know how they do it but they grill potatoes better than any I’ve had. ALLINALL: A+ and an A++ for sticking to their standards!

One of my favorite places to get lunch or bring home dinner. Everything is super fresh and delish. Be prepared to wait they do take sometime to make your food I suggest calling ahead and picking up since inside is not anything special but dont let that fool you! The chicken plate and the big Feta salad are my favorite and I have had their flat breads that are amazing too!

This is going to be the weirdest review I’ve ever written. Here goes: The food was tasty but NOT worth it. Let me explain. 1. The cost: $ 19 for the plate meal. Decent portion size. Served on a foil to-go container with plastic forks. Now I know this seems silly, but with a $ 40 bill between two people or just really makes it feel cheap especially for the«value» to eat out of crappy take away containers. 2. The food: as mentioned above, everything was tasty. I had shrimp and salmon plate and it was definitely good. But it was sitting in a pool of olive oil. As if it wasn’t bad eating off of foil wasn’t bad enough, it’s literally a pool of oil. My fiancé ordered chicken and shrimp and his had thicker layer than my dish. The place boasts that none of it’s food has fructose corn syrup, which is great. But yet they serve dishes soaked in grease. I wouldn’t call that quality or healthy. 3. The sides: it felt weird eating chips with what is clearly a dinner dish. Just saying. I would have taken the fresh fruit bur they only had sad looking cantaloupe. Also their beverage choices were weird. Everything packed with sugar and crappy water selection. Dasani tastes worse than Chicago tap water. 4. The building: nice décor, clean, welcoming. But equivalent to any ma and pa sandwich shop. It was cold, small and the food they serve should not be classified as a fast food place.(more on that in a second) Would be more fitting as a sit down place, as that is the sort of food being served. 5. «Fast food»: Unilocal advertised this as fast food. It most certainly wasn’t fast. This place was empty when we came in, and still took twenty minutes to prepare our food. Which would be fine had it not been described as fast. Annoying. So this I’d the list I’ve complied to suggest you spend your money elsewhere. I understand that some of these complaints come off as strange, minor annoyances but I just didn’t think it was worth it. I’d give it 1.5 if I could.

Delicious high quality ingredients, clean space, a little bit of slow service, order ahead. Went here for lunch today. We ordered in advance because my boyfriend has come here before and knows that it takes a while to get the food out. When we arrived the food was hot and ready. We both ordered the chicken plate, it included grilled chicken, pita, and grilled veggies. You get a drink and chips or fruit with that. Everything is so fresh and so delicious! One of the yummiest lunches I’ve had! I highly recommend coming here. mmmmm

The menu here isn’t extremely extensive, but what they do offer is well worth the visit. I had plenty of time to solidify my decision with my friend running late, and the friendly guy at the register didn’t even ask me if I’d been stood up unlike a waiter I’ve had at Reza’s in Andersonville. I’m pretty sure that guy was hitting on me though. I went with the chicken plate which maybe would have been even better with rice, but I didn’t feel like I didn’t get enough food between the chicken and grilled veggies. All of the meals come with either chips or fresh fruit, and the fruit on the day I went was some of the best watermelon I’ve had in a while. You also get a bottled drink. The atmosphere is a little sparse and has some pretty cliché décor, but at least they had the Food Network on tv in there while I waited. They also do takeout and have specials.

Oh how I love Bite 9. I need it in my life. It is soooooooo good. Every time, I get the grilled chicken plate which is served up with LITERALLY mouthwatering olive oiled vegetables: tomato, red pepper, shallot, zucchini, and squash… mmm and it comes with incredibly flavorful grilled pita. I cannot express how fantastically seasoned and prepared their grilled chicken is. I don’t know how they do it, but the chicken is so insanely delicious. I’ve also tried their salmon/shrimp plate with those same scrumptious veggies and pita and found that quite incredible as well. Anyways, both meals are wicked flavorful; the seasoning/spices on the chicken! Again, SILLY. Perhaps the best chicken I’ve ever tasted, ever. Each meal comes with your choice of any drink from their little mini fridge, and they sure do have a random selection in there(in a good way, of course) There have been Starbucks mocha frappuccinos, Horizon chocolate milks, SoBe lifewaters, snapples, HUGE cans of Peace Tea, coke, pepsi, dasani waters… ya see? Kinda random. But excellent. The meals also come with your pick of either chips(«Dirty» brand: sea salted, mesquite barbecue, sour cream & onion, salt & vinegar, sweet potato…) or freshly cut fruit(separate things of both grapes and cantaloupe from what I’ve seen). *TIP: I usually call ahead and then come to either pick it up or dine in as it usually takes 30mins to cook. I’m in love with Bite 9 and I hope, hope, hope people reading this review go there and try it out, then spread the word of how exceptional it is because I want this place to stick around!

If only the menu wasn’t so limited, I would enjoy Bite 9 so much more, or rather it would make me more comfortable bringing guests here. The only carb offered is flat bread, which was delicious, but where’s the rice or quinoa option, or even roasted potatoes? Ok, I think chips were offered, but I opted for fresh fruit(grapes, tasty and perfect). What if you don’t want grilled vegetables(though I did and they were yummy and cooked perfectly)? The grilled plates were all exactly the same except your choice of meat: flat bread, grilled veggies and your meat choice. Why not offer some variety in sides and mix it up a bit? I ordered the steak and my friend, the chicken. I preferred the chicken(dark meat) but both tasted and were cooked nicely. I saw no hummus, no baba ghanoush, and my party missed them. The salads sounded yummy and pics online looked plentiful, but we didn’t try those, and some seemed a bit pricey. Going back to the limited menu, it might be nice if there was a salad/grill combo where smaller offerings were combined, or even a simple salad/soup combo. Though you can add grilled meats to your salad, I’d like smaller, less expensive options. Unfortunately, the most annoying thing(besides those pesky plastic knives and forks while cutting steak) were the very limited beverage options. No diet cokes(due to their stance on artificial ingredients– admirable), no diet Snapple(just regular), and no brewed ice tea? This seems to exclude a fair amount of customers, like me and my friend, especially when most meals come with a bottled drink. How hard is it to brew tea, naturally? Bite 9, I hope you are taking note, because the food is good, fresh, flavorful and nicely cooked(thus the 4 stars) but it’s just limited overall, and it’s not going to keep me rushing back when I can find those other options elsewhere, just as tasty, and less expensive.
