The only downside of this Costco Gasoline Station is initially finding it. It’s not located right next to the main Costco store, but signs do successfully lead the way. Kauai is an Island economy of which things need be brought in by air or water. That means everything is a «bit» more expensive. That’s why «cheap» alternatives such as Costco gas are so important. I also found the lines to be very manageable both times we filled up the rental car.

Cheap gas, what is there not to love?! Yes, the lines are crazy and it’s a little tricky figuring out how to get in and which line is going to move faster. But this is going to be your cheapest option for gas on the island.

Cheapest gas on the island period. Lines aren’t very long and it goes through very fast. Great for refilling the tank before returning the rental car.

Cheapest place on the island to get gas and it is located right by the airport, so fill up your rental here on your way out. The location is a bit weird to get to, but it is worth the effort!

This is the only place to buy gas on Kauai. If you are a local or a visitor, make sure you have a Costco membership as you will save big $$$ on gas and groceries when you stop at the Lihue Costco.
Gas at Costco is consistently $ 0.20 cheaper than the other gas stations on the island and despite its significantly cheaper price, there isn’t a long wait time at the pump.
If you are renting a car, forgo having the rental agency fill up your tank (they usually give you Costco’s price) and just fill up at Costco as it’s only a couple of minutes to the airport.
