Quaint little gem off highway 50. Stopped in on our way to an ATV excursion for breakfast. Had the bacon, egg and cheese burrito and my husband had the chorizo, egg and cheese burrito, they are served with a side of salsa and hit the spot! Since we were at a bakery we had to get some baked goods and chose the chocolate banana bread which was mouth watering delicious! As we were waiting my husband decided we had to try spam before we left Hawaii and the sweet woman helping us agreed so she fried up a couple pieces of ham for us on the house! Would definitely come back if we are back in Kauai!

Had the Kim chee omelet. I wouldn’t have thought Kim chee and eggs would go well together, but it was great. Also picked up spam musubi and some malasadas. All made for a very tasty and quick meal before heading down to Poipu. Also, service was friendly and quick. Tip: most of the rolls seemed to be out by 10am, so coming here early would be a smart move.

Get there early for a better selection. We got there at 10:00 and missed out on the manapuas. We picked up Portuguese rolls, Apple roll and a cherry roll. So amazing! Too bad this is our last full day on the island.

The doughnuts were dry. The coconut turnover was shavings of coconut and there was barely any in there. There was no jelly inside the doughnut. We did get there at 10 am so maybe that was just the lefovers… seemed like they were sitting there for days. I feel bad giving 1 star but on our visit that is all it deserves.

We have been to the Hanalima Bakery on two of our visits to Kauai. We love their crab rolls and their apple turnovers. I love their customer service snd plan to go there earlier next time to get their famous Nutella rolls. Love this place!

Wonderful creative job on a «breakaway» birthday cake for our one year old granddaughter’s party at Hukilau Lanai. Absolutely over the top design of an «Owl» cake. They designed the head so she could eat that herself. It was delicious! Mahalo for the terrific design, and making her first so special!

Just absolutely loved this bakery! My husband and I got that breakfast burrito, breakfast quesadilla, banana chocolate bread, and the crab scone/pastry. Everything was amazing. The service was super friendly and quick. It was inexpensive and shouldn’t be missed when traveling into Lihue!

The food was edible– but nothing to rave about. Customer service needs help too– I felt as though I was totally asking way too much for the woman to heat up the cinnamon roll. She nuked the heck out of it– and eventually when I was able to take a bite it was as hard as a rock.

Hanalima Bakery is a terrific local bakery for breakfast and beyond. I first heard about on The Sam Livecast, with Sam the Cooking Guy(internet cooking show). I had their Portuguese Sausage Roll and Crazy Crab Roll. There is no seating, and you have to get there early to get the best selection of sweet and savory baked goods! The fillings could be a little more generous based on the prices, but the bread is very good! Great place in the middle of nowhere!

Stopped here on our way to do the Nepali coast tour at 6:30am. I got the cherry turnover and my husband got a breakfast burrito, and a few malasadas to split. Loved everything! Husband downed his burrito, my turnover was perfectly cooked. Best breakfast for on the go and it was $ 11 for everything. Can’t beat the price for good food.

Stopped by to pick up their famous Portuguese sausage rolls, spam rolls, crab rolls, etc. The rolls were both greasy and super bulky. You have to get through a lot of bread before getting to the good stuff and once you actually get to the sausage/crab/spam, it’s a greasy mess and not even satisfying because of the measly portions that they give you. I had such high hopes for this place because of the Unilocal reviews. I can’t tell if it’s because we came later in the morning or if we got a bad batch of rolls. But three of us ordered rolls and all had the same experience.

Portuguese sausage roll was good, but a little cold by time we arrived. Would have been a little better heated up. People are right — go early or your choices will be slim!

Lobster roll and the Portuguese sausage roll is my favorite baked goods. Spam musubi, ufos(goteburg sausage with rice), and breakfast plates are quick pick ups for me. I haven’t ordered any lunch plates before but I know some students at the nearby college campus ordered here and the food looks good!

Had the much talked about crab roll, Portuguese roll, flying saucer, manapua and malasada. The crab roll was good, but wish there was more crab. The crab is only around the outer roll. The flying saucer was ok. My favorites were the manapua and Portuguese roll. Both really flavorful. The malasada was pretty good considering it wasn’t fresh out of the fryer. Next time I want to try items on their menu.

The most amazing place on kauai for breakfast or dessert. The cup cakes are to die for! I stop here on every visit to the islands and this is one of my all time favorite places to eat. There is no where to sit down its just an order and go type place. The prices are reasonable and the food it amazing!

Bought 2 malasadas and 1 flying saucer. Both were cheap/reasonably priced and tasty. The malasadas were very doughy/dense, which I liked. The flying saucer was uneven in that some parts were super doughy while others were super meaty. Still tasty, though. Will come back to try more of their pastries and meals.

Our first morning on the island, we were still on EST and up early. We headed over to the bakery after reading awesome reviews. My husband ordered the breakfast burrito with chorizo and said it was really good… cooked to order, fresh and hot. I got the nutella danish which was good but a little light on the Nutella filling, I thought. I also got the coconut turnover to have later on and was glad I did. It was amazing. Flakey perfection! The banana bread(also for a snack!) Was very moist but did not particularly have a strong banana flavor. I wish that there had been a larger selection of juices, but other than that I thought it was a great place!

It was kind of shocking how much I loved this place. It’s just a tiny little bakery in a strip mall. It doesn’t even have seating. But the food is so good! We stopped here on our travels for brunch. I got a ham and egg breakfast sandwich on sourdough. It was so good! The bread really stood out to me. I also got a homemade«power bar» which was more of a dessert, but again really incredible. I wished I bought a few. This I just a local stop in for breakfast and lunch, so the prices are low. We actually liked it so much that we stopped in the next time on our way back from Waimea Canyon. Sadly they were out of power bars, but everything else was still awesome. This places proves that not all great food in Hawaii has to be expensive!

My friends and I came here because one of our friend’s sister absolutely loves this place for their cookies. However, it looked pretty empty when we walked in but that’s probably because we went closer to lunch time. We were probably supposed to go in earlier … oops. The bakery is fairly small and by the time we went in, there weren’t that many pastries out. Also, we saw a fly flying around the pastries INSIDE the case … it even landed on one of the baked goods. *Shudders* … Wasn’t exactly what I wanted to see if I wanted to eat here but hey, what can you expect right? I ended up with a box of their assorted butter cookies and I also ordered an fried rice omelette from them. The butter cookies were very good, very light and it practically crumbled in my mouth. But I wouldn’t say they were out of the world or anything. As for the fried rice omelette, they actually topped with it with gravy and cheese. I actually did not realize that they put gravy on it … I’m not exactly a fan of gravy. The egg was very nice, it wasn’t well done or anything, it was exactly right — so no hardness. almost the same texture as scrambled eggs. The rice on the other hand didn’t really have much flavor to it. Overall, decent place. Nothing too wowzers but nothing too horribad either. Average.
