We found this restaurant through ‘restaurant.com’ and decided to give it a try. We were a little disappointed about the ambiance. There were no other customers beside the two of us, and it is not a very fancy restaurant. The owner is super nice and friendly and the food was delicious. We had spring rolls which were very fresh and yammie. The tandoori chicken and chicken seekh kebab were good, but the rubberi kheer(rice pudding) was to die for, A good experience!

Came here almost by forced accident. Everyone else in the party wanted to go next door, I wanted to try Shalimar. Next door was super busy, Shalimar was completely empty. The guy who runs the place is suuuuuuuper nice. I want him to be my uncle whom I visit twice a week so he can feed me delicious food and tell me jokes and be awesome. Two people in our party tried the broasted chicken and couldn’t stop raving about it. The naan was hot and fresh and soft, and the garlic naan was even better, and I could basically eat the naan here for a full meal if I didn’t feel like digging into everything else(which I totally did). My one reason for not giving Shalimar 5 solid stars is that everything seemed reeeeally spicy, even stuff that claimed to be mild. I’m pretty wussy when it comes to spicy food, but I can handle it *okay* more often than not. Veggie samosas = good, but on the spicy side. Palak paneer = good, but on the spicy side. Someone else(who eats more spicy food than I do) had the beef kabobs and he said it was good but pretty spicy. I desperately want the 12 year old in our group to love Indian food as much as I do, but it’s a bit difficult when even«mild» dishes cause the immediate consumption of half a glass of mango lassi(which, by the way, was really, really good). We were too full to order dessert, but our wonderful host brought us a taste of the rice pudding, telling us that no one makes it the way they do, and that was also delicious. In conclusion — would definitely come back. The place next door gets all the business, apparently, so I hope Shalimar won’t be going away soon. There are still too many dishes I want to try here.

Great food here and even better owners. We ordered daal, chicken 65, biryani, chicken, the kabob platter, naan, mango lassi and more. The restaurant is in the shopping plaza behind the burger king, in the corner. The restaurant was surprisingly big, with another area to the side for small sized private functions. The chicken 65 was probably the best I’ve had. Lots of flavor and not dry. If you’re obsessed with fake chicken 65 at zyka, then this was the opposite. The karhai comes in a legitimate karhai. It was so fresh and was enough for everyone(6 people) to have 2 pieces. The biryani was oily, but I think that made it taste better. Not too soft or mushy, every bite was full of flavor. The mixed grill platter is the way to go. It samples a little bit of every grill item they had, including huge beef seekh kabob and chicken boti kabobs. I have 0 complaints about the food, service, and place. Shalimar is definitely the place to go for fresh, delicious and relatively inexpensive desi eating!!!

Posted hours show they’re open, but there is no one to be seen. Is the business now closed down? 4:20pm on a Monday afternoon.

Gotta say, they were very friendly, 3 of us ate, they brought all kinds of extra food for us to sample, including free dessert, and the bill was $ 26. Let’s just throw in that the not so great food at PF Changs was $ 75 for 3 people. The Chai was tasty too. This is not a place for atmosphere and they probably shouldn’t have turned the TV on, and maybe should’ve piped some music in. But overall, very nice food, very inexpensive, and very friendly. Give it a shot.

When going to a Pakistani restaurant you want to see people, talk to people, and most of all FEELTHEBURNOFTHEFOOD, BUT overall it was just boring. The food was ok, the meat was not well cooked, the guy was great though but not the best. BUT U HAVETOGETTHEIRCHICKENCURRAIITSTODIEFOR
