Oh my gosh! If you like Mexican food, you HAVE to try Vicko’s! I went one day and got a Michelada and one each of the chicken, chorizo, pork, and beef tongue(I forget what it’s called). These tacos have double corn tortillas and are completely stuffed with meat AND they are less than $ 2 each. Chorizo’s my favorite. I could only eat half of each. I took the other half home for my husband so he could try it out. He liked it so much, we went back for lunch the next day. On the second day I got the Fajita Nachos. This is a meal I often get at Mexican restaurants and I really didn’t expect it to be any different than other restaurants, but it was. I expected chips covered with cheese sauce, chorizo, and grilled onions. If you’ve had Fajita Nachos, NORMALLY, by the time they get to the table, the chips are already getting soggy. Not at Vicko’s! The chips are layered with chorizo, grilled onions and bell peppers(red and green), lots of avacado cubes and the cheese is perfectly melted slices of cheese that don’t make the chips soggy.(I opted out of the refried beans and lettuce that are options). From the pictures, I thought it might be a order from the counter kind of place and it’s true that you can go around behind the salsa bar where he has the specials of the day and Victor, the owner, will serve you a plate right away, but it’s also a full service restaurant. The two waitresses I’ve had so far are very sweet, bubbly, and informative. Victor came out both times I was there to visit each table to make sure everyone was doing well. I’ve seen the pictures here on Unilocal and on Facebook. Let me tell you, the pictures just don’t do this place justice. You have to go there and see for yourself. REALLY! As you can tell. .. I just can’t say enough about this restaurant. I can’t wait to take the trek to Lilburn again. It’s quite a distance for me, but definitely worth it.

A friend told me about this place; said it was the best Mexican food they have every had(obviously I had to find out for myself if it was true). Let me tell you! This is the most authentic Mexican food I have ever tried. I’m from Mexico and I can honestly say that when I bit into my first taco it felt like I was back home. I also ordered a Torta, because if the tacos were that good I had to know what a Torta tasted like. And it was SENSATIONAL! I’ve had tortas from other places and they don’t compare to this place. The torta is huge to begin with(I could only finish half) but it was the most delicious food I have eaten. The service was also great, everyone was very nice and worked hard to get me what I wanted. I’m glad to say that I will be coming back here A LOT! Just like my friend recommended this place to me, I want to recommend it to you guys. Enjoy the food and atmosphere I promise you won’t regret it!

Just off 29, its a little hard to find(and easy to pass by in the wrong lane). We went and had tacos of carne asada, chicken, barbacoa, and chorizo. The service was very quick and the food came quickly vs. some of the other taquerias in the area(Taco Naco in particular). The tacos come with double corn tortillas and heaped with meat — the chicken and chorizo were excellent, not dry at all. The beef was good as well. The standout was the salsa bar. They had six different varieties of salsa, including an excellent salsa macha, which is chile de arbol with a peanut sauce — almost a thai-like flavor.
