Wow, what has happen here. I came in here yesterday with some friends and was greeted with bad attitude, food, and service. I have been a customer since the day they open, and today is the last day I would ever be a customer. After ordering and paying, we was waiting for our drinks over 15 minutes. When I asked about the drinks, if we could get it now the lady said«I’m making your sandwiches first» with a bad attitude and her head shaking like she has a neck cramp. We got our food 25 – 30 min later with nobody there beside someone else that already gotten there food. I don’t know how someone that comes in after you gets there food first when we ordered the same thing. Maybe she decided to wait till all the food was ready but when we finally got it, it was cold. My ½chicken and wings wasn’t even warm, cold like it’s been sitting out since the workers were having a bad day. Nobody checked on us, but it’s fine we won’t ever be back. We will make room for anyone to get treated like poop.

Easy 5 stars, best BBQ I’ve ever had anywhere. Glad they are here in my area. I go there once or twice per week. Their new tri tip is awesome

We were looking for some nearby random place to eat and Unilocal reviews convinced us to go here. We were not disappointed. The food is great! We had the ribs and the peach cobbler, which I recommend. Food is great! I don’t give this 5 stars because of the place, it is in a gas station market, it is not bad, but its the inside of a gas station, come on. Costumer service was great, Steve, the manager, gives this place a unique and fun, friendly touch. He was always telling jokes, greeting people and just in general made you feel very comfortable. He should get a raise, I’m just saying.

At best, I give these guys three stars for average. I was kind of excited reading the reviews before I actually went in for food. It was memorial day and I didn’t have the energy to cook myself. I ordered the ribs which many reviews have referred to as amazing, and sides(baked beans, potato salad, and mac n cheese). The ribs were just OK. Some pieces were over cooked and tough. Not falling off the bone the way I like. And, the sides were just average too. I guess it’s all a matter of perception. What someone thinks is great might be average to you. Oh, and the peach cobbler is def a NO for me. It had the texture of bread pudding. No crust and no juice :(

Went in for dinner around 8pm ordered takeout with my boyfriend he thought I was crazy for bringing him to a bbq place inside a gas station lol. We don’t see that in NY but I knew after reading all the reviews I had to try it. They have seating inside and outside also at the counter where you order. The person that took our order was very nice asked if we would like to try the tri tips OMG amazing and smoked perfectly with just enough smokey taste . We both ordered the 2 meat plate choice of meats ½ chicken, 3 ribs, ¼lb of pulled pork(you cannot double the meat but you can substitute the tri tip for 1.50) that came with 2 sides and 2 pcs white bread and your choice of bbq sauces they have the hot bbq sauce and a malt Carolina vinger(very tasty). My bf ordered the ribs, pulled pork, potato salad and mac n cheese. I ordered the ½ chicken, ribs, collard greens and potato salad. Also we ordered ½lb of the tri tip which came with horseradish mayo can you say YUM! Ok so my bf and I agree that the meat and mac n cheese is delicious! But other sides not so much the potatos didn’t seem like they were cooked enough and the greens were pretty dry and bland. Next time I will try the green beans! But I would say stop by you will be pleasantly surprised.

Wow. Made the trip out to the Tipsy Pig for dinner tonight and we were not disappointed. The ribs were as good as advertised. Pulled pork plate was solid as well. In terms of sides, the Brunswick Stew was the highlight, but cole slaw, mac n cheese and fries were not far behind. And the peach cobbler is not to be missed. Will definitely return. Better than both Moonies BBQ and Praise the Lard BBQ in our opinion.

In the mood for some good BBQ so I did a little trolling on here and found the Tipsy pig. Drove over and its inside of a gas station. Don’t let this sway ya because the food is amazing !! Ordered the pulled Pork Sandwich with the medium sauce and it was a party inside of my mouth. Pork melts in your mouth. Steve(manager) who was amazing, he let us taste a few samples before we made our choices. Took home a half of rack and that was flawless too.5 stars !! PS-Limit space inside 4 – 5 tables and 4 – 5 stools by the counter. If I was the owner I would start looking for another location to facilitate the huge demand.

I have been meaning to try Tipsy Pig BBQ for the longest time, and just recently have been able to. We stopped in around noonish and they were super packed. But even if they were packed, the wait wasn’t bad. We ordered at the counter, and since TPB is located inside of a gas station, you take your ticket and pay at the counter. Even though Tipsy pig is located inside a gas station, there are some tables for people dinning in so its not that small at all. I ordered the following on my visit: –Rib plate, which consist of four ribs and two sides. Also comes with bread and sauces on the side. I chose the baked beans and potato salad as my sides.($ 13.00) –A side order of macaroni and cheese($ 3.00) The ribs were finger licking good. The baked beans were a little thick but still good. The potato salad was a okay, nothing special. The macaroni & cheese were also a okay. Overall, I think the ribs stood out the most and because of that I’m a fan and would come back to try their sandwiches and such. If you are in the area, definitely check out the Tipsy Pig.

It’s good. It’s different. In a gas station. You order at the restaurant but paid where you buy gas. But the food is good.

Updated Review: Everything I wrote in my previous review is still true, but the ribs on my 2nd visit were truly magnificent. I brought my partner along on this visit, after I had told him about the awesome service, and wonderful food. He doesn’t usually care for pork, but he was taken for a pleasure cruise by the fall-off-the-bone goodness of these ribs. We both loved the awesome Mac and Cheese and the Brunswick Stew(again!) I wish I could have more food from the Tipsy Pig, but I’m back home in SLC, as I write this. Tipsy Pig has spoiled me for good barbeque. Sadly, there’s nothing I’ve tasted in Utah that compares the the down-home genius of The Tipsy Pig. When I’m back in GA, I’ll make a point of returning, you better believe!

Nothing beats a good ol’ fashioned restaurant in a gas station right? I decided to drop by for lunch when I was visiting and wasn’t too sure what to expect. The place itself is literally in a gas station to the side with a few tables and chairs set up. Although the set up wasn’t much, the food was truly amazing! I’ve been told that Georgia bbq is more tomato based and that you won’t see anything but pig east of the Mississippi. Coming from Texas, this was a bit surprising since some of the best bbq I’ve had has been brisket and beef ribs. Well I decided to get the 4 pork rib plate with two sides of collards and potato salads and I can say hands down that these were the best pork ribs I’ve ever had! They blow the ones in Texas out of the water, as they are flavorful and fall right off the bone and melt in your mouth when you take a bite. I could probably eat these pork ribs everyday! They give you the option of a spicy bbq sauce and a regular one. I preferred the spicy one but the ribs were so good that you didn’t even need any sauce to enjoy them. I will definitely come back again next time I’m in Atlanta and I hope to try out the other bbq in the area as well!

The 5 stars is for the Mac n cheese. This is the by far the best mac and cheese ive ever had from a resto and its almost as good as mine! Im not sure what types of cheese is in it… i think a tiny bit of smoked gouda? If not it’s something similar. That smoky taste is what makes baked macaroni exceptional imo. Ive been here twice and the 2nd time, my MnC was more creamy and runny which i didnt like. I prefer it to be thick and sticky… euw sounds gross but you get what i mean. Now, like everyone said its in a gas station bla bla bla. Yup most of the best food ive had are in random spots like this no big deal! I like to live dangerously! Nah really its actually a nice setup in the gas station. Kinda like the QT deli but its a BBQ spot! Their grills are outside on the patio from what i could see. You order, go to the gas station attendant to pay then take your receipt back to tipsy pig when you pick up your food. They have tables and chairs and you can also sit at the counter if you want. I also had the pulled pork sammich with the hot bbq sauce and the vinegar one(i use both sauces together… nice combo). Side of mac n cheese and baked beans. My 2nd time, i ordered a peach cobbler but i never ate it because as usualy, my eyes were bigger than my mouth and stomach. Unfortunately ive wasted gas to go to a plain jane bbq spot all the way in Suwanee when Tipsy Pig was right round da corner darn :-/What a gem! Yes! I do talk like i type in real life!!! :)

Just happened to discover this by chance. Was visiting the area and happened to ask a guy about some decent options for food in the area. He did not let me down. First of all, it shares a space with a gas station. I probably would not have thought twice about it just driving by. If you are the type to be hesitant about«sketchy» looking places, then you need to put that fear in check and take the dive. I originally planned to get the food to-go, but being in there smelling that sweet aroma made me change my mind. I got the rib plate with baked beans and mac and cheese and some pulled pork as well. All I can say is top-freakin-notch. This place will not let you down. Food was fresh. Everything was smoked to perfection. Sides were very legit and very much homestyle. They were not as skimp nor as expensive as some places. The service was awesome. They are super polite and provide textbook southern hospitality. It is tough for me to rank bbq because I believe the best bbq is the stuff I smoke in my own backyard. But for what it is, this place get’s 5 stars. Especially compared to some of the big name commercial establishments.

Hands down the best BBQ I’ve ever had in a gas station. Solid ribs and beans. Mac was even above average. But most importantly it was there for me in my time of need. I needed delicious cheap BBQ quickly to help cheer up my roommate for not picking him up at the air port the night before as we both attended a friends wedding. Well played

Yes, it’s in the Shell gas station’s convenience store. And yes, it’s great BBQ. I ordered the ½ chicken with 3pc pork ribs and I had a difficult time finishing because it was a half chicken! Staff was very friendly and offered to refill my lemonade twice. There’s a bathroom on site to wash your hands after the messy BBQ, but I’d recommend bringing a few wet wipes to the table. Seating is available at the few tables or also on the bar top. The only quirk is that you pay at the main cashier at the Shell store counter, then return the order ticket to the staff at Tipsy Pig. It’s a minor inconvenience, but could probably be a bit more seamless.

Interesting that it is built into the gas station. This place is unassuming but damn good BBQ! I had the ribs and they were fall off tasty! Their collard greens were so yummy! Next time I have to try out red neck Cuban sandwich as it’s highly sought after. They also have boiled peanuts and have really fast service! I would definitely recommend this to anyone who visits!

This was a highly anticipated BBQ joint that I’ve been wanting to try. A featured restaurant in a list of the most unassuming restaurants in Atlanta — I mean, a restaurant attached to a Shell gas station — I knew I had to try it. And so did 10 other of my friends. So I would be surprised, too, if I suddenly saw a large group of hungry Asians storm a Shell gas station in the middle of Lilburn, GA. It’s not something you would see everyday. When we approached the counter, a server was so shocked, he called for the manager, who helped us with samples and getting our orders in, and even offered us some samples of the Brunswick Stew. Once you place your order, you pay at the gas station register and bring the paid receipt back to the barbecue counter. This is in order for the Tipsy BBQ to receive their profits from Shell, so don’t just toss your receipt after paying! I ordered the rib plate, with two specialty sides of the Brunswick Stew and the Mac and Cheese. There was a 15 minute wait on the ribs since they didn’t expect so many people at one time, so if possible do call ahead to avoid the wait. The ribs were worth the wait! Tender and juicy with some great smokey flavor, although some at the table noted they were not as smokey as they would have liked. The pulled pork was a little dry, but had some good flavor. The Brunswick stew was beautiful, but the mac and cheese not so much. It was sitting in greasiness and were cold. Avoid the Mac and cheese. Overall, it was a satisfying meal and a unique experience. Sure, it was weird eating at a table with motor oil right behind us, but the service was great with the attentive staff constantly coming back with water refills(sure, in styrofoam cups, but I wasn’t picky). A must try in Lilburn, for sure.

This place is conveniently located inside a Shell gas station convenience store. Upon entering you can smell the aroma of goodness. The food smells so good that if you were just coming in for a snack from the Shell side you’d be more than tempted to try something! The bbq smells out of this world! I had this place bookmarked, so my boyfriend and I decided to come here and give them a try since they were close to the house. If I weren’t a Unilocaler, I could honestly say that if I saw this place in the gas station I probably wouldn’t have tried it nor came inside but since I saw this place on Unilocal I already knew I was in for some delicious bbq. This experience was awesome. The guy who waited on us was such a kindred spirit, he made the experience from a 4 to a 5. He kept a smile on his face and made sure we didn’t want for anything. We ordered a slab of ribs, macaroni and cheese, greens and since I just had to try the wings I got some of the smoked wings as well! Everything was great. Normally, I like my macaroni and cheese with more cheese and I’m not sure if it was because I was extra hungry but it was good. The ribs were just as good as the pictures you see when you scroll through here, too. Collard greens were tasty as well. Now, these wings, I cannot believe how I felt about these wings. Some of the best wings I’ve ever had. They are smoked then fried for a minute. AWESOMESAUCE! I’m almost tempted to come back tomorrow for some more wings. This experience was great. Give them a try!

Tipsy Pig BBQ is nestled inside the Shell station that you’ll see first. Look for the delightfully temporary looking banner underneath the Shell sign to confirm that you’re at the right place. After you enter, walk right up to the counter on the left side of the gas station and place your order. Where are the hush puppies on this menu? Aren’t the prices kind of high? Is there really an upcharge for mac n cheese? These are just a few of life’s imponderables that you’ll coincidentally start pondering as you browse the menu. Because I’m very bad with money, I went with the two item plate on one trip and the one item plate on the other trip. Pay at the gas station’s cash register. I don’t know why they expect people to know this. The chopped pork and the chicken are both very good, but they didn’t quite have that fresh off the grill/smoker taste that I expect at higher prices. And, no, this doesn’t mean they should add liquid smoke(gag). I don’t mind the upcharge for the Brunswick Stew, and I’ve seen upcharges for mac n cheese at other places. Both sides were prepared well and of high quality, but the oil conglomeration on the mac n cheese suggests that it was likely old. The two slices of the cheapest grocery store bread that accompanied the plate was frankly unacceptable. At these prices, they surely could give us Texas toast or corn bread. If not, they could toast the grocery store bread at the absolute least. Serving us two plain pieces of cheap bread just doesn’t fit the price of the meal. I don’t mind paying $ 1.75 for sweet tea. I do mind paying $ 1.75 for sweet tea that isn’t very good, especially in the South. This place would be 5 stars easily if I were still on the West Coast and longing for good barbecue. Since we are in the South and Tipsy Pig charges high prices, it is fair to expect a lot from them. It would be unfair to rate Tipsy Pig below 4 stars, but I won’t likely return and can’t wholeheartedly recommend it.

Reporting live from my seat at Tipsy Pig(singing Beyoncé’s ‘Let me upgrade you’) while I add a star to my previous review. THESCENE Today’s experience is a worthy rewrite of my original review, or in this case an update. It truly is good to visit a restaurant multiple times before putting your opinion to paper. Although this is only my second visit, I want to simply say it was superior to the first in every way. My first review was a generous 3 stars. I was bordering on 2 stars, but I really enjoyed the ribs. This go round I arrived just minutes before the ribs were to come off the smoker. The manager(Steve) offered me a deal on «day old ribs» that were $ 5 cheaper per rack than fresh cooked, but I held out for the fresh ones even though we were starving. I’m so happy I did. Tipsy Pig took a large leap into possibly being my favorite BBQ pork ribs in Georgia. Hot, tender, nicely seasoned and juicy would be among the list of adjectives I would use when describing these perfectly smoked delicious morsels of meat. 5 star worthy all the way!!! THERIBS Initially, I had them wrap the order to go, but decided to take a bite while they were hot and fresh for Unilocaling sake. That was all she wrote, because next thing you know we were seated and asking for dishware. [too late] We did a face plant into those suckers right there and didn’t stop until there was only a pile of bones, empty Styrofoam containers, and BBQ sauce slathered smiles. I also tried the pulled pork and honestly I’m just not a pulled pork kind of guy. The pulled pork here is okay, but the ribs are simply fantastic! BAKEDBEANS/MAC N’ CHEESE/GREEN BEANS The sides were also better today, much better than my first visit. However after the manager allowed us to try samples of all the sides, I’m still not a fan of the potato salad or cole slaw. Otherwise I’d give the baked beans a 4 and all the other sides between 3 to 3.5. FINALTHOUGHTS I can’t in all good consciousness hand out 5 stars here for anything other than the ribs, but I must say Steve and his crew were delightful and accommodating. Steve(on his own accord) heated up a sample of the day old ribs and brought them to our table to try. Unless $ 5 means that much to you, stick with the fresh off the grill ribs. There is simply no contest between the two. Actually, having the fresh off the grill ones has ruined me 4life! I serve notice to Tipsy Pig that henceforth I’ll be calling ahead to find out when fresh ribs will be ready, hop in my truck and drive there to greet them as if my wife was giving birth to a new baby!!! I must have them this way each and every time! Now, I wonder if I should buy flowers or balloons saying ‘welcome home’ to our next ribs delivery? LOL
