I had a fantastic time wandering through the store and discovering cute trinkets and one-of-a-kind gifts to take home to California with me! How did I even get here? I was in upstate New York visiting my boyfriend’s family and learned that Rochester had a strong antiquing culture. Perfect! And plans for the day were set. Arts and Artifacts is part of Rochester’s Route 5 and 20 Authentic American Road antiquing trail that runs along a trading footpath used by pioneers and Native Americans ages ago. We explored a few other stores that ranged offered some drab thrift store fare to some truly eclectic things… before we chanced upon Cindy’s store! She has an amazing selection of trendy homeware you’d find at Urban Outfitters(except this is the real deal) like pyrex containers, loads of teacups and saucers, vintage rolling pins, whiskey sets, vintage poker sets, vintage board games, tools(perfect for adding some masculinity to your home), and quirky things like this«Godspeed the Plough» plate I bought! Cindy is super sweet and very helpful at suggesting some items you may like depending on what your interests, design style, or personality is like. She also teaches art classes! I wish I lived in Rochester because I’d certainly come back here again.

This is a very diverse antique store with a nice collection of items. I could spend most of afternoon browsing through the many pieces that have obviously been curated by a knowledgable buyer. A highlight of the area.
