I am not a Lincoln City resident. My husband and I have been in Lincoln City the past two July 4ths at two different hotels. In both trips there have been ongoing problems with the internet and we went without last year. This year the office has to reboot the router every couple of hours. Their TV service goes out randomly. This is not the fault of the Hotels. Charter offers a bad service knowing full well that they are the only game in town. We were told that if the hotel calls Charter they get the same answer and they are charged $ 200.00 to be told that they need another box for the TV when in fact that is not true. In each case the hotel we stayed in just had rewiring done and it was a sloppy job. This doesn’t say much for Charter and puts a lot of undo stress on the Hotels. The people of Lincoln City need to attend a city council meeting and demand that Charter service the community better or find how to get another provider to service the community. Shame on Charter for their poor quality of service to their community and business owners!

I’ve just gotten my cable/internet hooked up and I’m a fan. Not because the service is better or different than cable anywhere else, but because the guy who came out and hooked us up(Ty? Ti?) is so completely competent! What a great counter example to the stereo-typical cable-guy! He was on time. He didn’t make a mess. He was nice to the dog. He new what his equipment would do and not do… He didn’t want to drill a lot of holes in my house… He knew the answer to just about every question I had — including the dumb ones. And he was a nice guy — what more could you want? It remains to be seen if the signal is strong and reliable out here on the edge of the world — but I’ve got a really positive first impression that we hope will hold fast! We pay a lot for communications services in this country — so it helps when the people selling it really have their act together.
