This is my second time eating here very friendly old fashioned home style restaurant. The staff is always friendly and the food comes out fast. Decent meal for the money. I love old style restaurants reminds me of when I was a kid.

So I saw the ratings and read the reviews but still came for breakfast. I was as disappointed as everyone else. The food was mediocre as well as the wait staff. One lady who works there doesn’t realize she doesn’t have an inside voice and proceeded to talk on the phone with one of her suppliers about her upcoming order. Food was so underwhelming that I don’t think I need to review it. If your going to be in the breakfast business with all the other options you probably should kill it, specially at the end of a holiday weekend.

Food was great. Lots of flavor. They don’t give you a ton of food. Just enough. But lots of delicious flavor! Staff is nice. They don’t really go above and beyond. Just kind of there. Not overly friendly. Like no smiles. But not rude either. The décor is cute. Different. Clean. We would go back again.

Came here for breakfast and it wasn’t anything special. My boyfriend ordered the clam chowder and he was disappointed. I ordered the Mediterranean omelette and I liked it but it was very regular just like any other place around.

Passed through Lincoln City last week and had breakfast here on a Sunday morning. Ordered a N.Y. steak and buttermilk pancakes – both were delicious. Didn’t even need sauce for the steak, and the pancakes just melted in my mouth. I remember this chain from my childhood in California; didn’t know it was still around. But I’ll remember this place every time I drive the Oregon coastline.

Stopped in for a mid-morning breakfast with my mom. It was Sunday, so it was quite busy. We were told there were 6 groups in front of us, but we only waited about 10 minutes. Worth the wait. Was a bit noisy, but that is to be expected as it was packed and many people brought children. The server was very nice and attentive. I placed my order and was given a star sticker because the server didn’t have to ask me any questions about my order. I thought that was fun. It took a little while to get our food, but it wasn’t an extreme wait and we expected it as it was so busy. I had eggs, bacon and hash browns. The bacon was thick cut and delicious. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted great. Price wasn’t bad either. My mom ordered from the senior menu(55+) and got a really good deal for her meal. We would recommend and return!

We had a breakfast here and thought it was great! I had eggs with a side of ham and the ham was out of this world! The place is clean and is the typical coast diner with a little store for souvenirs .the waitress was awesome! Would highly recommend!

Holy mary mother of Jezus try the corned beef hash. Dont leave the coast before going to see sweeter than peaches wait staff pro Sheri. She will make your meal a delight and I guarantee you will swab your plate clean of the corned beef bits with the homemade biscuits. This place was named after the book Little Black Sambo… The same namesakes of a chain of places that closed due to mass hysteria. …but remember that the actual copywrited book was about an indian boy and four tigers that he observed turning themselves into butter, which his mother used to make him pancakes. It was only later than illegal stolen versions of the story were bastardized into racist bullshit.

Unique restaurant with friendly service and great food. Our server was able to tell us about the history of the place and we also chatted with the owner who was our cashier. My sister got the red potato scramble and I got the 6 high banana pancake stack. She took half my pancakes and I took half her scramble which turned out the be an excellent idea. 6 pancakes would be too much for me! We were seated quickly and our server check in on us frequently.

Good food. Came out fast. Nice server. Warm atmosphere. They bring you a carafe of coffee so you can refill your cup as you like which I loved. Great eggs Benedict and red potatoes.

My partner and I wanted something to eat for dinner so we stopped here. It was around 5:30pm and there were only 3 groups in the whole place. Counting us. The food was mediocre and our service was awful. The waiter seemed not interested and even though we were one of the only people in the place he took a really long time to get refills. We watched him talk to another coworker for 10 minutes while he went to refill my drink, and when he came back it ended up being the wrong drink. I got the fish and chips and the cod was the thinnest smallest cod I have ever gotten. I won’t go back here. The food was not good and the service was even worse.

Id give a zero if possible for my family went there for breakfast and could not even get seated. Two signs said wait to be seated and three waitresses walked past with no recognition at all that we were there. We left and settled for pig n pancake. Seated immediately.

Called Lil Sambo’s was told yes they are open with plenty of seating. We live close by so we were there in just a few minutes. The sign says Please wait to be seated, and we waited and waited! After 5 minutes of being the only people standing and waiting, a waitress finally acknowledged us saying someone would be right with us. After 15 minutes with no further acknowledgement and the waitress walking past us two times we decided to go to the Grill, where we already know the service and food will be good

Home cooked corned beef has was absolutely awesome! Chicken fried steak was very good as well. Definitely an old school diner/dive feel but the food was great and they do have some cool trinkets to buy in the store. The parking lot is busy, and there is a reason for that! Don’t expect a high end snooty dining experience, but you should expect warm home cooked food that will stick to your ribs and leave you satisfied with staff that cares about your satisfaction!

I had thought the«PC» people shut these down but missed this one. I ordered a half order of seafood eggs benedict, with hash browns crisp and the Mrs. had a cheese omelet with hash browns, both excellent! I knocked off one point for not listening, I ordered small she brought large.

Great food, fast service, nice people. However, I ordered what I usually order at such places — eggs & bacon plus a coffee. With tip = $ 17.00. That’s not so good. $ 14.00 is a bit much I think. Don’t you? They eggs were organic and so they cost $ 1.00 extra. Sorry Sambos — it’s just too rich for me to visit again.

Visit Date: May 9, 2015 I’ve been going here since I was little. Grew up calling it Lil(Black) Sambo’s; and still call it that. Anyways, my family decided to stop in after crabbing since we were hungry and there was room to park the truck and boat here so we went here. We got seated pretty fast. The waiter we had was amazing, he was very helpful and nice. There clam chowder is pretty good, I would defiantly have it again. There clam strips were amazing as well. Everyone enjoyed what they got, even the kids. Only thing I wish is they would serve waffles all day(they stop serving them at 3PM). That was what I always got there when I went growing up but wasn’t able to get them.

OK, so «Lil Sambo’s» is a racist storybook that’s been around for decades, so to have a restaurant named after it(yeah, they changed their name, but still the same thing), gives you a Zero in my book. Now, I’m a pretty opened minded girl, and I can understand that maybe, just maybe, it’s just a name, or for marketing reasons, they couldn’t changed the name to something else. Fine. But the fact that they have a mini gift store with blackface/“darkie” characters for sale I am not cool with at all. ’

Like a lot of places at the coast, Lil Sambo’s has its own kind of charm. I get the feeling, Walt Disney had a hand in the design of this restaurant. It’s like a page out of the jungle book. The food is decent and they can seat the masses in groves. Food is fair. I had Hash Browns with Very Over Easy Eggs. I like to see how good the egg person is and this one got it perfect. crispy hash browns and good service is what keeps em comin back.
