This place is awesome! Don’t hesitate to come here. You won’t be disappointed because it feels personal, private, and good enough to come with a few buddies and a good bottle of Jack. Ton of movies to watch, excellent view of the beach, and the check in lady is badass. Anywhere else is hyped up and too crowded to feel like you are cared about because of the wait/slow service. Love this place, will be back in a few months, and will be booking annually for holidays with the families.

We came across this place by chance, about 10 days prior to labor day weekend when it suddenly occurred to us that a coastal getaway may be a good idea. As you can imagine, by the time we started looking, the pickins were slim but thanks to the genius of Craigslist, we were able to capitalize on a last-minute cancellation and we ended up booking Unit #8 at The Sands. Judging from the photos on the website we were less than thrilled about this serendipitous find, but we decided to go and ‘rough it out’ if we had to. Well, lucky for us, there was no roughing out required. When we walked into the unit we were blown away by the cleanliness and charm, not to mention the breathtaking view of the ocean. This complex is unique in that the units are owned by individual parties yet managed by a couple, who happen to own a few of the properties. Because of this, there is little consistency in what has been updated and amenities from one unit to the next, so I can only speak for Unit #8 from experience. This unit is spacious, has 3 bedroom(one with a perfect ocean view), two full newly-remodeled baths with stand-up showers, a partially updated kitchen(granite counters but older appliances and cabinets, which are in good shape). There is also a beautiful deck that spans the length of the condo and offers unobstructed ocean views from just feet away from the ocean. The furnishings are modest but clean and comfortable and there is a HUGEDVD and VHS collection with tons of new and classic movies to choose from. Amongst other bonus, there are books to read, multiple binoculars for seasonal whale watching, and all the kitchen utensils you would possibly need including a coffee maker, pots and pans, coffee grinder, blender, silver wear and lots of dishes and serving platters. The one and only complaint we had about this unit was that the two queen beds that we tried out(one located in the room with bunk beds and the other located in the last room down the hall) were quite uncomfortable and squeaky. It is definitely time for new beds, but otherwise, the place is gem.
