My family and I tried The Soup is On today for the first time before heading back to portland from Lincoln City. My mother and I had the clam chowder and my little brother ordered the crab chowder. Let me just say both were absolutely amazing!!! Hands down the best clam chowder I has ever had! The owner was very friendly and even let us sample the soups before purchasing. I will def be coming back and will be letting all my friends and family know the ONLY place to get some killer soup. Next time ill have to try the breakfast or a sandwich. Awesome place!!!

So far I have only been here for breakfast two days in a row. The place is is the little Taft district south of Lincoln City. The food is basic, but good. The pricing is lower than other area breakfast joints, and they take debit. Ok will come back for lunch.

We stopped here for a quick bite. There was way too much butter.

This place is the reason I signed up to Unilocal! If you are looking for FANTASTIC food… there is no reason to look at any other reviews!!! STOP and JUSTGO to The Soup’s On! Why do people stand in line at Mo’s? When this place is just around the corner! Don’t follow the crowd just because of the name… go to where your tummy and tastebuds will instantly thank you as soon as your first spoonful reaches your waiting mouth! Now — if you need some fancy atmosphere to impress your friends and that is actually more important than the taste of the food than go elsewhere. This gentleman is The King of Soups! The Clam Chowder beats Mo’s hands down and the Crab Chowder was oh sooo yummy too! We took our food to go and he includes all the goodies: napkins, spoons, soup crackers, and toasted garlic bread slices. Please do a good deed today… Support a local small business AND your tummy will thank you in return! By the way: The Chef/Owner was longtime soup and sauce specialist at Salishan Spa & Golf Resort where he worked for nearly 35 years!!!

Small place with fresh soups daily. Tried both the clam chowder and the Dungeness crab chowder. Clam chowder was good but the crab chowder was great. Going back for a breakfast burrito.

Just had lunch here. We had great crab chowder and clam chowder. I had half a Ruben with my cup of soup. All of it was very good. I recommend a few people eat here instead of at Moe’s. You won’t regret it!

Yesterday my husband had clam chowder and I had crab chowder at The Soup’s On and they were both amazing! There aren’t many places to get crab chowder and especially where it is so good. Today we went down to have a breakfast burrito. Wow… mine was full of eggs, hash browns and vegetables and my husband had one filled with ham and eggs. This is a little place a little off Hwy 101 in Lincoln City and is very definitely worth having lunch or breakfast at. The owner is so friendly that it just makes a good day a great one!

We discovered this place from a bakery near by. It was very good advise. I had the crab chowder and my wife had that cheesy cauliflower. Both were very good and the owner was a really nice guy. If you are in the area give this quaint little café a try. It is not elegant but very homy. There are four to six soups to try.

My family and I stopped here for lunch on our return trip to Portland and had a great lunch. It’s a very casual joint with great soup. The menu is simple with about six soup options and some straightforward sandwich options. If you’re looking for some home cookin’ and local ambiance this is the place.

I’ve been driving by The Soup’s On for a couple of weeks, thinking I should stop in – I mean, soup is my favorite meal of the day… And this place did not disappoint. First — he gives little samples — which is great. I got a tablespoon-sized cup full of each of the clam choiwder and the crab chowder to help me decide — and both were amazing and completely different — I had no idea they could be so different. Since I’ve had clam chowder every place I’ve been for the last 3 months — I went with the crab. Full of big pieces of fresh crabmeat, loads of veggie bits and little potato pieces — and thick, rich cream soupiness. He says it’s his own recipe — and it is something to be proud of. A bowl of soup comes with grill-toasted garlic bread — but frankly — while it was good, the soup stood very well on its own. The clam chowder taste was equally delicious — full of clam pieces and just the right seasonings. — a great leap forward from the über-touristy places where the chowder is water-thin and full of grit. Soup’s On is the real thing – He also had a vegetable beef, a tomato, and a pot of his own mild chili — which I will probably get to… and he rotates the soups(other than the chowders) on the menu. He(his name is Joe) also serves breakfast every day — this is my kind of café! Soup’s On is right off the main Hwy 101 drag on the ocean side of the road — in a tiny storefront, just big enough to seat a couple of dozen people — and still a little under-décor’d since it’s only been open a short time — but the soup is what you’re after here. Well done!

Great soups for a rainy day. A group of 7 of us stopped by and ordered different soups. They were all good. I had the Dungeness crab chowder, which was fantastic. Had grilled cheese. Definitely stop by if you’re driving by.

Just in time for the cool fall and winter weather at the beach. .. Lincoln City’s answer to the«Soup Nazi». Although, in true Lincoln City style, the owner and chef Joe Melton is anything but a Nazi. He is as talented at making people feel welcome as he is in creating a wonderful variety of soups! The Butternut Bisque was rich, creamy and simply delicious. I look forward to trying each of his creations. The only reason I didn’t give them a 5 star was the ambiance. They are on their way though with the eclectic mix of tables and chairs they have in place. Now they just need a little paint and some art to give it a distinct theme and they will be off and running.
