I know I wrote a review of this place, but it’s disappeared. My wife and I ate here a couple of months ago. The server was abrupt and not helpful at all. I joked with the manager/owner(?) about how much faster they were than the first time I came in, and he got really snotty and annoyed«That was 9 years ago!». So? I was joking and you became(or probably just are) a complete douche. That wouldn’t be quite so bad had they not followed up with a bad, poorly made meal. We had the BBQ nachos, and although it was big, it was mainly just potatoes, nothing special or especially good. I got the Grilled Asiago Chicken, and my wife got a shrimp dish. My «grilled» chicken was poached, and hadn’t seen a grill since it’s inception. Watery sauce with barely a hint of asiago cheese in it. The pasta was perfectly al dente, so I guess I don’t understand the lack of effort on the rest of the dish. My wife’s shrimp was overcooked, and the sauce was also underwhelming. I wanted to like this place, but after 3 bad experiences, we’ll be eating somewhere that doesn’t take itself too seriously, while not earning that right.

Ate at the Hickman location last night. Server was nice, tried hard, but was in dire need of training. Steak was over cooked and garlic mashed were cold… Veggies seemed frozen not fresh, which is not good for a $ 29 plate. They did redo the steak, but used garlic butter on the 2nd one, the first one was blackened. At 9:15, we went to the bar for an after dinner drink. .Bartender said they were closed. Two people were still eating on the bar(½ way done with their meal) and there was a 4 top in the dining room still eating. The other customer with ½ a meal couldn’t even get a beverage to finish her meal! Bartender turned off all the T.V.s and turned the lights all the way up. Sorry… screw you people that came in at 8:30 for a nice dinner… This shuts down at 9:00 no matter what I guess. Very rude. Love the Lincoln location… and will go back there… But won’t go back to Hickman. There is no way they two stores can have the same ownership and management. Who ever is running the Hickman store has a lot to learn about running a restaurant.

Very poor service. Stood there 15 minutes before anyone offered to seat us. It was another 15 minutes before anyone took our order. It was extremely loud and difficult to carry on a conversation. It was a 95 degree day, the air conditioning didn’t seem to be working. It was hot, humid and stuffy. They were very slow in bussing tables. The server never refilled our water glasses. Food was mediocre to poor. I ordered a Reuben which was the worst I’d ever had. It was runny and soupy. On the way out, I noticed on the board that the soup of the day was«Reuben Soup.» I think they just took the soup and put it between the bread slices. It was pretty disgusting. Very sleazy atmosphere and staff who acted like they were doing us a favor. Won’t be going back.

The parking is impossible, the restaurant doesn’t have ventilation so you leave reeking of the food, it was terribly hot inside, the service was just ok and the atmosphere is so bad that it was hard to enjoy the food.

We visited the new location last night. The menu is the same as the old location but the space is more comfortable. The service was friendly too. They really need a drink menu though.

Service was awful and food was just okay. I wouldn’t give the place a second chance.

Enjoyable lunch. Philly Cheesesteak was excellent with really tender steak. Crab cake sandwich was excellent too. The apple pie is top notch. Even the iced tea had a nice mellow flavor. Great vibe and the service was excellent.

This place is consistently delicious. The recipes and meals prepared are all from scratch. They even just opened a second location in Hickman Nebraska in May 2016! They also cater and they take reservations at both locations.

This place is a great location. Very affordable food and good food! They give you a lot of food and plenty of sides! It’s a mixture of denys, Applebee’s, and a southwest grill. I will definitely return! Ps. I would have given it a 5 but found some hidden charges for ranch and thats a little wack.

This is a treasure to find just a bit outside Haymarket. They have a great all-around menu, with pasta, sandwiches, steak, and burgers making it a very tough decision when you are as indecisive as I am. All sandwiches come with two sides; you can substitute a side salad for $ 1.50 or both sides for $.50. Waffle fries, onion rings, Cole slaw, and potato salad are among the other choices. Service was great… the hostess and our waiter were both very friendly and attentive. There’s only two booths(mostly tables) but it’s bigger than it looks from the outside. Cute, cozy place, it’s great for dinner and a nice glass of beer or wine. Coming even at 8pm on a Friday night, it was pretty crowded but we only had to wait a couple minutes before a table was cleared for us. I ended up getting the tuna melt with onion rings and a side salad. No iceberg lettuce here and definitely a larger portion than what you’d normally see as a side. Plus they make their own balsamic vinaigrette. Unfortunate thing was that only 3 onion rings were served, which I think was an anomaly in my case since glancing around, other people seemed to get a bit more. My sister had the crab cake sandwich with potato salad and waffle fries. Both of us had nothing but great things to say about either of the dishes. Prices were more than reasonable for the quantity and quality of the food and as an added bonus, there’s a nice private lot so you don’t have to worry about parking hassles. This is definitely a place I see myself coming back to!

The service is awful. Not only did we walk in and stand in the door way for almost 10 minuets with out being even greeted while a fat waiter sat at the bar and wrapped silverware. Then when we were seated we waited another 5 minutes before anyone even asked for our drink order. Salad I ordered was the most disgusting thing I’ve ever had in my life if I pushed all food to one side there was atleast a cup of water at the bottom of the bowl. Pretty much wanted to puke. Only reason I didn’t walk out without paying was my Bloody Mary. I won’t ever go back! If I could give a zero I would. And I am the furthest thing from picky, but when a worker sits there and doesn’t care at all wow…

Good food & companies from out of state. We had Reuben, loaded potatoes, salad & fish & chips. For deserts we had the apple pie with vanilla ice cream chased by key lime pie. We were fully satisfied & they had to rolled us out the door to our vehicles!

Bigger inside than it looked. Food came very quickly despite being busy. Liked what I got, price was appropriate. My glass was never allowed to be empty.

First thing that hit me over the head was the obnoxious music that seemed most suited to 14 year old girls. Second, every time we come here, the lack of ventilation and lack of separation from the kitchen, leaves an oppressive, greasy haze in the air. If you have respiratory issues, best to avoid the place. Other down sides are the cramped spaces, with storage closets next to your table, and the staff being so loud conversing and goofing around clues to the dining area. They don’t seem concerned that there is no barrier between the work area and dining area. Now the positives… the fish was crispy on the outside and flaky on the inside. The grilled chicken was moist and juicy. The shrimp were large. Overall the good was good, if a little bit overpriced for the portion sizes. The various noises and the lingering smell gave us both a headache. The food is tasty, but the overall experience at this restaurant is one of going to dinner at a twenty-something’s cramped apartment.

In for lunch today with friend of prior time here. We had a salad and me a Rueben sandwich. Also a Coffee Cake dessert first. Was just ok. Sandwich same. Salad better. Probably would not return. Average chow experience here today.

This was maybe the best steak in lincoln, it was will cooked, soft, and flavorful. The veggies were a little lacking but they were very fresh and crisp. I ordered onion rings as my second side and it was a bad idea. I only got 3 rings. They were of a descent size but most places I go to usually give you 5 – 7. The service was fine and the price was reasonable. I’d come back again.

I went to 9 South Chargrill for the first time with my family, after seeing great reviews on Unilocal as well from people around the community. We went on a Husker home game Saturday afternoon – shock from a Nebraska resident, I know, they did have the game on! We started off with the bruschetta appetizer, and it was amazing! The flavors all complemented each other and even my 5-year old half brother enjoyed it. Between the adults we had the Baja Burger, Crab Cake Sandwich and the Peanut Butter Burger. They were all hits as well, we didn’t try each others but we loved them. My father has a love for spicy, so the Baja Burger was right up his alley with large jalapeños and a «sauce with a kick». My step-mother enjoyed the Crab Cake Sandwich as well, she was pleasantly surprised for it’s not your typical sandwich! Leaving me with the Peanut Butter Burger, after reading a couple reviews about it having«too much peanut butter» I almost passed, but it kept jumping out at me. It was great — not too much peanut butter but just right. My brother enjoyed his grilled cheese as well, they had good options for children which is always something we look for. All the adults opted for the waffle fries as one of the two sides included. I expected more with all the grand reviews on them. However, they were still great! 9 South Chargrill was a great experience, the only reason for 4 out of 5 stars was because my father ordered a draft beer that the server had to be reminded of. I would highly recommend this restaurant again and I can’t wait to go back — especially for that bruschetta!

9 South Chargrill can please anyone. From the grill, to the barbecue, to the veggie options, I loved the variety and couldn’t settle on a lunch dish. I ended up with The Jake Burger which was a beef patty topped with pulled pork and barbecue sauce. It was mouth watering. Another thing I loved about the restaurant was that you were able to choose two sides with your entrée. I went for the waffle fries(you have to order waffle fries here) and the cole slaw. I enjoyed both of them. The waffle fries are the best around and the cole slaw was perfect(I am a picky coleslaw eater). A friend of mine got onion rings and they were great too. I highly recommend giving 9 South a visit. Also try a Lone Star to drink and see if you can solve the puzzle on the inside of the bottle cap! They don’t just have those anywhere. Brat
