We visited the other evening about 25 minutes before close. The young lady working the counter was very friendly but the man cooking was less than friendly or professional. First thing he announced is that they were closing soon so we could not stay and eat, in fact they had the seating all blocked off, second he told us he was out of steak so it would be about 10 minutes wait, which was fine, so he again told us we could not stay and eat. About 10 people arrived after us, to which he repeated that they were closing and no one could stay. The last 4 people came in and he told them he was locking the doors so no one else could come in. One man asked if he could use the restroom and was told, yes but then you’ll be locked out. We received our food and ate at the counter. The young girl locked the door. On our way out we informed her that it was against fire code to lock patrons in a business and she was unaware. Needless to say I will not be back. The food might have been ok but the experience was such that I can find someplace else to go and spend my money.

This is THEBEST, #1 Cheesesteak in Lincoln. Hands down. There are no contenders when it comes to this sandwich. Champion cheesesteak in Lincoln. I drive across town for it. If nobody else is in the mood for a cheesesteak, I ditch them in a heartbeat, and come eat alone. I don’t care. The staff is always friendly, I burn through punchcards like nothing here. You can watch them make the fries and cheesesteak in front of you. There’s always a line, it’s always busy, and that’s how you know a place is amazingly great, when people are willing to line up out the door for it. This is one of my top, if not MYTOP, go-to place for lunch. I’d divorce my wife and marry one of their cheesesteaks if it were legal. Seriously great cheesesteaks. Get the six inch cheesesteak combo, fries, drink and you are SET. On my deathbed, this will be my last meal, but instead of the six inch, I’m going to go with the monster instead. The grim reaper can wait for me to finish it for all I care.

Great Cheesesteaks. People who work there are always nice. And prices are reasonable!

This place is awesome. The cheese steaks are made to order and are by far the best in town. The seasoning on the fries is a nice touch and well worth adding to your order.

Excellent cheese steak sandwiches, great prices… fries are good! This place is inside a gas station, don’t let that scare you away — it’s eye openingly good! Always busy during lunch.

Find the cheese steaks here very dry and I was not very found of the frozen crinkle cut fries. Portions were acceptable for the price. Service could have been faster but they were polite and acknowledged when I came in. But for cheesesteaks I would look elsewhere.

At one time(first 6-months or so of opening) CheeseSteak Grille was the bomb! Now, their staff and food is sub-par.You never get the same sandwich when ordering the same item. Now that Peperjax is in town that’s usually my first choice for a Philly as every time I go in I get the same service and quality food. Every now and then we/I check in and try CheeseSteak Grille, but continues to lose it appeal…

Back in early 2011, I was a big fan of Cheesesteak Grille. I would even go on weekly binges with my girlfriend. The meat, whichever chosen(Chicken or Beef), was cooked perfectly and sauteed on the grill with finely diced green peppers and onions, and delicious melted slices of swiss. The 4 sauces to choose from were a perfect topper for the overly sized 10″, or stomache filling 7″. Italian bread toasted to perfection. And crinkle cut fries with a tasty seasoned salt sprinkled atop them. After coming close to getting an ulcer from the gut wrenching Atomic Sauce, with extra jalepenos, I gave Cheesesteak Grille a break. When I returned to give Cheesesteak another chance before their arch rival Pepperjax opened in early 2012, I was let down. The friendly kitchen staff had now turned into a hot mess of young highschool girls. The sauteed meat cheese veggie combination had now turned into crunchy pile of partialy frozen veggies with bare amount of meat. The mouth watering Atomic Sauce had now turned into a watered down Louisiana hot sauce. And the crispy italian bread bun turned out a little darker then a peice of coal. It may have just been a bad day for Cheesesteak Grille, but they lost my vote. In the race between Cheesesteak and Pepperjax, Pepperjax is enjoying a nice cold lemonade at the end while Cheesesteak is running with shoes un-tied. I know Cheesesteak has it in them, all they need to do now is prove it.

If you are looking for a great cheesesteak sandwich, the Cheesesteak Grille beats Da Vinci’s easily with their creation. The place is located in the same building as a gas station and until this latest venture the venue seemed to be doomed to failure. If the food continues to be as good as it was during my visit, it will thrive.
