Emsud’s Expert Alterations

I’ve shopped at Emsuds for the better part of a decade, as I wore suits for my job daily. He has great prices and the suits are high quality. As someone else here noted, he really likes to haggle, and he likes to pick out the suits for you, rather than let you poke around yourself, but all that always resulted in suits that I looked great in. And the tailoring there is top-​notch and fairly priced. I wasn’t a big fan of the dress shirts he recommended — they had short lifespans, in my opinion.

Went to Emsud’s to look for a new suit earlier this spring. Almost as soon as we walked in, we were greeted by the owner and given five-​star treatment. Like another post noted, he picked out my size in seconds and suggested cuts that suited my body type and desired style. Very personable, very affordable, and the tailoring work is excellent. As an added bonus, they threw in a few pairs of socks when I picked up my finished suit! Sure it seems small, but it was an added bonus that I didn’t expect. I’ll definitely be back in the future – I’m a young man starting my career and have many friends in the same situation that I will send to Emsud’s.

After calling around to all the other alteration shops, Emsuds was the only place to get me in for a bridesmaids dress hem on short notice. She was very nice and them came out looking fantastic. I didn’t think it was too expensive either, especially on short notice (1 day)

This is a GREAT clothing shop if you’re looking for men’s suits. I came here after being disappointed by the Von Maur across the street (who had only about four different suits in my (common) size. Emsud’s by comparison, had DOZENS of suits to chose from in a variety of prices and cuts. The owner himself is one of nicest people you’ll ever meet. Whereas I couldn’t find one good suit at the department store, Emsud’s was running a sale and I walked out with three suits! Tailoring quality was very good.
The wool is supposedly Super-​140s, and the tags all say «made in China» — but nowadays what isn’t? Besides, if they said «made in Italy» I’d be truly concerned because the Italians have about the most awful manufacturing quality of any people in the world. I will re-​post if the suits do not wear well or stand up to daily use.

Very knowledgeable and friendly. I’m a bigger guy, 6’1 240 lbs, but I have large shoulders/​upper body with a slimmer waste. I’ve always had issues finding suits that fit my shoulders without leaving way too much material for my waste. The second I walked in the store he picked a suit out that fit me perfectly and it only cost me $ 200. He was able to pinpoint my size without even measuring. I don’t know much about suits, but it seems to be great material and a great look. I didn’t need much alterations, but he does them at no extra charge and for mine I was able to pick it up the next day. I highly recommend him if you need a new suit at a good price or simply just alterations.
