This might just be the ultimate Dive bar experience in Lincoln! And it’s not that Divey! It’s just old and bad ass! This is the type of place I would hang if I lived here! Full of regulars, drinking 2 dollar buds, watching the little league world series on the little tv’s above the bar, playing pool at 2pm, eating free popcorn or hell they have Frozen Pizza’s as well! The bartenders were awesome, providing a new frosty mug for ever 2 dollar bud draft you buy and trust me they go down quick when they are that cold! If you are making the treck across the lands searching for the ultimate dive bar’s in the USA, you should totally stop here and pull of a bar seat! Loved this place!

So I walk into this place for the first time. A nice old guy who is taking up a middle seat at the bar scoots over one so me and my buddy can sit down. A young bartender then comes up and asks what’ll it be, and I reply that I would like a whiskey double. He looks confused. «A double? Like in a double shotglass?» «Not in a shotglass. Just a regular glass.» «Like a tall glass?» «Um… if that’s all you’ve got, I guess that’s fine.» «Okay.» He brings over the bottle, puts some ice into a tall tumbler, and proceeds to fill it profusely. At some point, the bottle is nearly gone, so he just pours the rest in. By the time he’s doing pouring, the glass is nearly ¾ full of whiskey. Then he hands it to me. This was not a double. This was a quadruple. I didn’t buy another drink til I left the bar like a hour and a half later. I couldn’t believe it. There was so much whiskey, the ice cubes were just floating on top, in a sea of alcohol. I don’t remember how much it cost me(this was a couple months back) but it was probably less than $ 8. Now, I’m not sure if this bartender was just *that* new, or if nobody in this bar ever orders whiskey, but I have never experienced anything like that in my life. It was cool and weird at the same time. That’s why this gets 4 stars instead of 5. It was just a little weird, and there was one talkative middle-aged guy who was also being strange and a little obnoxious. It was like a bar from a parallel dimension, or maybe Total Recall. But if you just want to get hammered, this place will be perfect.

A fun, dive-y, working-class sort of bar. Perfectly situated to use the«facilities» and have a quick drink afterward when you need it on game day, after parking in a nearby lot and tailgating a bit.

Harry’s is one of the best dives in all of Lincoln! It truly is a Wonder Bar. The service is friendly, the clientele is friendly, the drinks are cheap and strong, and it’s got a nice ‘Cheers’ sort of atmosphere. A touch tunes jukebox sits in the back, and no one cares if you sing along and dance. No hipsters here to judge you or your music tastes, so sit back and be yourself. Harry’s Wonder Bar is a great dive!

Being out-of-towners, we didn’t really know what bars we should visit during our night in Lincoln. While hanging out at The Spigot we chatted with a group of girls who, after listening to out stories of past barhopping vacations, recommended we check out Harry’s Wonder Bar. We crossed the street to Harry’s and found ourselves in a nice little dive, the kind of place we really like. Much better than some of the fratty bars we’d experienced the same night! We ordered beer, but evidently mixed drinks are supposed to be the way to really enjoy this place. The bartender made that point very clear to us, in almost a snide manner. :) To get his point across, he immediately whipped up a concoction for me to take a picture of. While other bars are stingy, this place serves up a basic mixed drink strongly poured in a beer mug. At least in the demonstration we were given, anyway.

Home of the Frosty Mug! When wreaking drunken havoc on downtown Lincoln, you have a vast array of options to wet your whistle. Harry’s offers doubles disguised as singles and ice cold beer. Given the fact that if this bar weren’t located on O Street in Lincoln that some might consider it to be a dive, there always seems to be a huge number of ladies here.
