The work performed by this company is absolutely superb, the technical communications are detailed and frequent, and the willingness to solve problems in ways that save cost were helpful. The quality of the resulting finish on a PA28 that had 25+ year old paint and which needed wing and stabilator tip replacement was without any orange-peel effect, no runs, no streaks, and no scratches. The striping was excellent and was perfectly matched to the striping design on my PA-32. The hardest work was rejuvenating the lower cowl, which had been patched poorly in the past and was cracked. The finished work was factory-new in appearance. Many photographs were emailed to me during the progress of the work so that I could verify that all required steps for surface preparation, priming and painting were in compliance with manufacturers instructions and FAA best-practice. The process took a total of 8 weeks, rather than the more-standard 5. The additional schedule time was entirely accounted for by the discovery of non-compliant work performed 11 years earlier by another company in San Jose, and the resultant delays in ordering additional parts. There were no problems with providing a detailed accounting for costs incurred, and major cost impacts were cleared with me before work was performed. The company worked effectively with the mechanic shop next door, which was responsible for flight control surface removal, re-attachment and re-rigging. Costs are on the high side of the competitive range and ran about 20% more than the original estimate. The cost-overrun was entirely due to the latent defects discovered once the dorsal fins were removed for painting. I cannot find any reason at all to rate this company less than five stars. All my payments were made by check, so I do not know if they accept credit cards.
