Kwik Shop

Absolutely the rudest cashier I have ever seen. My husband and I stopped in for a cool drink on the go. My hubby is very friendly to everyone in any service industry, because he worked every tough job you can imagine (cashier, cook, waiter, construction, janitor, dishwasher) to put himself thru school. I stood back a bit as he went to the cashier. She said nothing to him in the way of a greeting when he put our things on the counter, so he gave his usual «Hi, how are you today?» She gave him a dirty look and continued to say nothing as she rang up our items. My husband very politely asked if he had done something to offend the woman, and the she gave him another dirty look.
In a situation like this, I always try to give the benefit of the doubt, but: 1.) We plainly watched her have a conversation with someone else in the store just minutes before, so we know that she was not deaf or disabled. 2.) We are not from Lincoln, and we know very few people there, so it’s not like she knows and dislikes us from some past issue. She is just rude. She counted his change and walked away without a word.
The woman’s nametag said Katherine.
If Kwik Shop is going to hire people like Katherine, then we are going to vote with our wallets and never go to another one of their stores. Why on earth would we spend money somewhere where the person greeting the public has contempt for the very customers whose money pays her salary?
