Lincoln House Motel

I tried calling this motel yesterday to inquire as to whether or not pets were allowed. No one bothered to answer the phone. This should have been my first warning sign, but I went ahead and booked anyway, figuring I could change the reservation or make other plans for my dog if necessary. I used
to book the room and received a confirmation that my reservation was all set– also, the website listed five rooms of the type I needed available at the time.
Today, I received an email from the motel informing me that there were no rooms available. When I responded and told them that I had received a confirmation of my reservation, the response I received was «I get other bookings besides from
.»
This business is wholly unprofessional and shabbily operated. I’m glad I learned this BEFORE giving them my money. Beware!

A nice clean local place to stay for a night or two at a time… The front desk is not always staffed — definitely more of a local place rather than a large chain. Email and phone messages are replied within a few hours or the next day, depending on when you try to contact the place.
The room I stayed (#3) was clean, not fancy, but a good stay. Ask for the Internet security key before leaving the office at check-​in, especially if you are a late arrival. If push come to shove, there’s a public library with unsecured (at least as of this writing 9 – 2011) WiFi access just around the corner that can be reached from the library’s parking lot…
A crazy plus for me and others that can’t stand having room air conditioners/​heat pumps constantly cycling on and off thru the night… The small wall mounted heat pump can be set to keep the fan running whether the compressor is on or not. The fan adds just enough white noise (without being too loud) to the room to mask out any neighbors or outside noise.
