Nitro Burger

Excellent by any measure. I had a cheeseburger w/​fried onions & jalapenos and the hand-​cut fries. Great blend on the meat (½ pound burger), fresh lightly toasted kaiser style roll, sweet onions and mild jalapenos. Nicely seasoned. I could taste the quality of the meat. They use a hand-​cut potato per order. Large slices fried in obviously fresh /​clean oil and then well seasoned. A lot of very good food. It is a food truck so check the location by their face-​book page. [They were set-​up at 11^th & South next to the Zesto Ice Cream stand, with all the goodness that implies.] [I do not give 5 stars so this is a very good review.]

tried this for the first time after seeing it pop up on my fb feed, had the gunslinger, very juicy I loved it.

I’ve been here twice, but it’s been a long time since the last time I went. Since then they have renovated a bus into a restaurant, which I think is so unique, but I haven’t been there since before the bus. The burgers are really good though and worth tracking them down. It’s not my favorite burger place even though it’s really good, and it is easier to go to a restaurant that always has the same location. However anytime anyone asks me for a unique place to go in town that also has good food, this place always comes to mind.

The burgers are worth the wait. From start to finish takes about fiftwen or so minutes if they are busy. Personal favorite is the stars and stripes. Only have steak fries instead of regular fries but no biggie. Also they are very flavorful and juciy.

Absolutely the best burger I have ever eaten. So happy to see the bus completed, you did an amazing job. Love the burgers and the shakes are amazing. Eddy and Cherry are two of the kindest people I have met in Lincoln. Best wishes for your continued success. Dave

Was out for the day and decided to go to a movie. On the way we noticed the Nitro Burger bus on the north side of 29^th & O. We’ve heard great things, so we figured we’d grab a bite to eat.
Got to the burger stand at 12:40, movie didn’t start until 2:00 so we were sure we’d have plenty of time. Not so fast…
Now, I’m all about supporting small start up business and I can totally understand how it may take awhile to cook in the small area the cooks have to work with. But having to wait ONE HOUR AND TWENTY minutes for two burgers is outrageous. What is even worse, when the burgers were finally received it was accompanied with absolutely no apology for the wait. Twice some lady came out and we could hear her apologize to other customers who were obviously a little upset, saying «we are swamped». There was maybe 9 people in line when I showed up and maybe 3 more showed up after that. I’m sorry but if being swamped is trying to make it through the lunch rush of 12 people and you get food out that slow, your business is doomed.
Food was alright, nothing special. Buns were extremely stale, tried to cut the burger in half and the bun tore apart because it was so hard. Asked for no onions, and of course they were piled on.
Seriously, how are you in the food service industry and don’t throw out a «sorry that took so long», or «here’s a couple pops on us for the wait» when some one waits that long for a burger.

It was a Thursday night and my friends and I showed up about 7:50 and the lady said it would be about a 20 minute wait which was fine. We grabbed a seat inside and just sat. We were starting to get hungry when we looked at our phones and it was already 8:40! So we asked the lady and she told us our order was third up, although many people had come and gone since we had been there. We finally got our food an hour after we ordered. While we were finally eating one of the ladies was asking other customers if they would like an appetizer which was free that night which was never offered to us. The whole time we were there no one stopped to ask how we were doing. The lady was rather rude because she basically ignored us the whole time. Once we got our food it wasn’t bad although I did not finish mine because I didn’t like it. If you’re in a hurry this is not a good place to go.

Their burgers are flavorful and juicy! I had the Jeremia Johnson and it was pretty good. :)
They’ve got seating in the bus which is pretty cool. They’re also pretty nice. It was raining today when I was eating in the truck and they were helpful to wet riders coming in and to riders getting off of the truck into the rain.

I finally was able to stop in and try a Nitro Burger. I have to say that it was every bit as good as everyone says. My burger was HUGE, cooked to perfection, and delicious. One of the best burgers I have ever had in my life.
Several have commented on long waits. Mine took a while to cook, but it wasn’t because the cook was wasting time. He put the meat on as soon as I ordered. My order came up as soon as it was cooked. So I can’t complain. I could see how this would be a problem if I had shown up at a peak time, but I didn’t have to wait an excessive amount of time and it was a beautiful day out, so I had no worries.
I can’t wait to go back and try some of their other meals.

Nitro Burger is beyond delicious. We had the opportunity to try Nitro at a recent event, and were sufficiently impressed. My husband is an avid burger connoisseur and is constantly seeking «the perfect burger». He found it. He raved about his Buffalo Bill Burger.
I am extremely particular about the quality of food that I eat and Nitro did not disappoint. They cook everything to order and it is apparent in the finished product that they aren’t using sub par products in their culinary creations. Their burgers are a work of art and shouldn’t be missed. Our first experience certainly won’t be our last!

There have been a number of fantastic burger places open up in Lincoln the past 3 – 4 years – HF Crave and Honest Abe’s come to mind. But the best of the lot is Nitro Burger. My personal favorite is the Gunslinger, but the Incredible Hulk is great if you like spicy, and I’ve enjoyed the mushroom mozzarella and the cheese steak as well. I’ve been 5 or 6 times and never been disappointed.
Also, yes, sometimes the food takes a little time to cook. That’s because they cook it after you order it. (I know, it’s a crazy concept.) But that means it’s fresh when you get it instead of lukewarm and recently removed from underneath a heat lamp. If you want a burger that’s ready for you 90 seconds after you order it, you can find plenty of places with bad ingredients and microwaved meat. But if you want fresh cooked food, creative dishes, and the best burgers in Lincoln, look no further than Nitro Burger.

If you’re looking for your standard cheeseburger… well…they make that here but that’s not Nitro Burger’s attraction. I was really drawn to this place due to the unique toppings they throw on the burgers. My favorite is the Big Apple that is a tasty mixture of apples, cheddar, bacon, onion strings, and dill mayo. Love the flavor combining with the meat! They have another burger that has hummus, cucumbers, and spinach. As you can tell, their calling card is beyond the typical cheeseburger.
Their fries and onion strings are average, but I don’t emphasize the sides as much for food truck-​based places. I would rate this review a 4 ½ star if possible because of the average sides, but I can’t due to Unilocal.
As mentioned in the lower-​rated reviews, the wait-​time may be range from 15 – 25 minutes during peak hours. But this has partly to due to the fact that there is one main chef preparing the orders and one helper who is taking orders at the same time. Everything is made to order and decent burgers simply take time. This isn’t McDonalds. They do have a phone number one can use to order beforehand, and I plan on using that more often to save time.
The owners are friendly people as others have mentioned. Nitro Burger has become a regular to-​go meal for me!

We waited about twenty minutes after giving our order. During that time we attempted to chat with the owners wife who, honestly, was quite rude. We waited and waited and after our food arrived I was shocked. Two completely burnt burger patties served up a a sloppy mess of a soaked through bun. Disgusting.

I am sorry Cherry, but we were the first in line of about 5 people so no excuses for poor customer service or sub-​par food there.

WOW! I would have driven past this place and not even noticed if it wasn’t for Groupons. Excellent burgers, better than any restaurant burgers I’ve had in Lincoln. Tons of flavor and the side of potatoes we had was amazing as well. Definitely will go back to Nitro Burger if I’m in the mood for a hamburger!!!

So, was in the neighborhood at lunch time and saw Nitro Burger, decided to give it a try. I like trying new things, and was optimistic. Unfortunately, my hopes outpaced my experience.
~ The burger was very average in flavor. I ordered the BBQ Bacon Burger, it had almost no BBQ sauce on it, and the meat quality was very average.
~ Ordered the sweet potato fries w/​chipotle mayo, these were not good, undercooked inside and nearly black on the outside.
~ They were fairly busy, but not incredibly so, and it still took over 15-​minutes to get my food. Thankfully I was off work for the afternoon, if this had been a working lunch I wouldn’t have had time to eat.
The staff was very friendly, the location is great, the ambiance is fun because it’s outdoors and the area is busy, unfortunately, the food just isn’t very good.

This place is absolutely fantastic. You can actually watch the guy put the fresh meat from the burger you just ordered onto the grill. And the grilled steak fries, that you can also watch them slice and put on the gill right in front of you, are delicious. Altogether, the combo of the fresh ingredients and homemade sauces (including some delicious ketchup) this is a top spot for some amazing burgers and fries in Lincoln.

This place is fantastic. My girlfriend and I both bought the Groupon (which clearly states that bacon costs extra) and were happy we did. I have eaten here twice and the burgers and potatoes were cooked perfectly through. The service was fast and friendly. The seasonings and toppings are very tasty I am excited to work my way through the menu trying each of the burgers. They all sound delicious.
Keep in mind this is a burger stand so it’s pretty much to go only and as of right now only excepts cash.

My boyfriend and I went to Nitro Burger at 7pm — they close at 7:30 since they are an outdoor location with no lights. After waiting thirty minutes and having half of the menu unavailable because they had run out of ingredients, we were limited to about five options from a fifteen option menu. Because the cook makes the food in front of you, we could watch his technique, and I have to say it was alarmingly unsanitary! He used his hands to touch raw hamburger meat, and then touched vegetables without washing his hands. CONTAMINATION!
Our hunger built and we were excited to finally get our burgers, until we got home and started eating. It was only a five minute drive, but the buns were completely soaked with disgusting amounts of grease and became soggy. Then, we bit into the burgers only to find that they were not even cooked all the way through. After waiting for nearly 40 minutes, and now starving, we had to throw our burgers away because they were uncooked in the middle, unhealthily uncooked. We went in with excitement, and came out with displeasure! The service was not even friendly when we tried to ask them about their business and how long they had been open. The cook claimed to be a chef, but if he really wants to cook great food, he should start with sanitary practices.

I do not typically give a place I’ve only been to once a 5 star review. I like to go a few times to really get a good grasp on the food and the business before giving out the five stars. Nitro Burger is a definite exception to this rule. It was fantastic.
I live in Havelock, and until their Groupon feature ran this past week I had no idea some of the best burgers in Lincoln were less than a mile away. I saw the groupon, checked out their website and bought it very eager to try it out.
Nitro Burger is a burger stand. You will find it in the parking lot of a hotel on the Northeast corner of Cornhusker Highway and Superior Street. Look for the ‘Big Red Box.’ They have beef burgers, pork burgers, turkey burgers, cheese steak, and veggie burgers. I got one of their pork burgers called the Mario and Luigi. It had mozzarella, toasted pecan spinach pesto, and roma tomatoes on a grilled wheat bun.
Wow. This burger was fantastic. The seasoning in the ground pork patty was amazing, the pesto was unique and flavorful, and all of the ingredients were fresh and prepared right before my eyes. We got combo meals (that was the groupon deal) so they came with a side and a drink. The featured side was potato wedges, and they were sprinkled with seasoning that was so tasty and unique. I am not generally a huge fan of potato wedges. I like thin and crispy fries, but these babies were so good. I almost wanted to lick the empty container when I was finished.
My boyfriend and friend both got the Buffalo Bill Baron Burger which was topped with bacon, cheddar cheese, sauteed onions, and smoky molasses BBQ sauce. I had a bite and it was heavenly as well. The BBQ sauce was a perfect combination of sweet and smoky and there was just the right amount on the burger. You have gotta try these burgers.
The people working the stand were super friendly. The guy making the burgers chatted with us while he created our delicious meals. You could tell he was passionate about what he was making.

This is pretty much a to go place. It says on their website you can call in your order ahead of time which I will probably do next time.
I believe this is a cash only business. Make sure you grab cash before you come.
