Their attitude toward the customer is second to none. I took my bike in for service and they were very efficient and friendly and got me back on the road in minutes.

Usually I have a decent experience at Scheels, however this time was not. I was searching for any kind of rock climbing equipment and couldn’t find any. So I came across an employee wearing a white shirt(assuming he had a higher position that the usual blue shirt employee). I asked him where the rock climbing equipment was located. Let’s just say his response, was less than pleasant. He shook his head, gave me an annoyingly smug look and said«you’re in Lincoln Nebraska. We don’t carry that here. You’re in Lincoln, Nebraska. You’re not going to find any rock climbing remotely close to here. You’re in Lincoln, Nebraska.» Then walked away. Okay, I am completely aware that I am in Lincoln, Nebraska. Thank you very much for that information. If you knew anything about climbing, you would know that UNL’s Outdoor Adventure has a state of the art indoor rock climbing center. So excuse me for thinking that Scheels, the Walmart of outdoor and sporting equipment might have at least a small climbing selection? I completely understand that in Nebraska there is not a high demand for climbing equipment and didn’t expect to see much considering rock climbing isn’t something the average Nebraskan partakes in. But as someone who has a higher position in an established company like Scheels I would expect they know the ways that common courtesy can be crucial for a business was startling. He was sincerely rude about it and treated me, a customer, like I am ignorant was completely ridiculous and disheartening. A simple«I’m sorry, there isn’t a high demand here, so we don’t carry that» would have sufficed.

The largest sporting goods store in Lincoln. They have a great selection of hunting, fishing, biking, and ball sports equipment. They also have a great selection of clothing for anything sports related, and tons of shoes for any occasion. If you are not in a hurry for items, its a good idea to watch the sales or clearance sections because their prices are full retail price. That said, they have just about anything you might need and the staff usually can point you in the right direction if you need something a little off the beaten path.

I give this location 2 stars sheerly for their selection their staff however gets 1 as does their prices. They are very proud of their products and their prices reflect that however if you can watch the sales they can be reasonable. However this location has been a problem multiple times with being chauvinistic. I fish, I camp, I shoot archery and guns. Yet every time I ask for a recommendation I get shown something pink or kid sized. I may be short but come on really! I asked for a gun recommendation for conceal carry they pointed to a 22 caliber hot pink and said this is what you need little lady. Really. Or they won’t help me at all and just talk to my husband. I asked about a crossbow and they just talked to my husband. Sorry I’m a «little lady» but that don’t mean that I’m not an outdoor enthusiast. So selection is great. Prices are decent. BUT staff on multiple occasions needs more training not to judge by appearance. — side note I have done archery and fishing since I learned how to walk.

I love Scheels. There, I said it. It’s hard not to have a man crush on a store that has shooting, hunting and fishing equipment along with an outstanding corporate philosophy. I don’t even know how much money I have spent their over the years, but pretty sure they could pay a couple of employees full time salary. They carry only top notch clothing and equipment and their employees are always very cordial. I miss their old layout though with the pictures, and crafts. But since it gives more space to fishing, I can’t complain too much!

great selection. sometimes the staff seem to be stretched too thin, and you have to actively seek out help, but once you get it, they are very knowledgeable.
