We’re new to Lincoln, so we’ve been out exploring. We came here for dinner and it turns out we came on karaōke night. It was a nice surprise that we got some decent live music during dinner. The food was pretty amazing. I ordered a linguica omelette and country potatoes. Quite possibly the best country potatoes ive ever eaten. Just the right amount of salt. The eggs were great too. The only reason for taking a star away was the slower than expected service. Maybe it was because of the karaōke night, but it took over forty minutes from time of order until we got our food. We didnt mind that much, but i had to give a four star. We will absolutely be back though, so ill be able to try more foods, and hopefully get faster service. With fast service, this is definitely getting upgraded to a five star review.

I ordered the fried chicken and got 4 tiny pieces of cornish game hen. although it was good, it was pathetic and dissapointing. I asked the waitress if it was a joke and she just smiled and walked off. Rip Off!!!

As a member of the military, I’ve been all around the world and tried different foods. But as an American, I appreciate the simple pleasures of an American café. I’m also a human adult and appreciate the warmth of people being warm, friendly, and receptive. As soon as I walked through the door I felt welcome. I was greeted by a friendly smile. The food was amazing. It came hot(like, straight from the grill hot) and quickly. And it was a simple spin that elevated an American classic to a whole new level. While I didn’t order from their eggs Benedict menu, I certainly appreciated and am curious about their several spins on it.

Update dated Jan 26, 2016: New MENU alert at Sterling café. High price increases and again much less food. I mentioned it before back in 2014 about my sister and I who ate salads at Sterling Café. We went again to see how the salads were. Waitress mentioned the new menu’s, very nice menus’ But the price hikes were crazy and the salads are even smaller then in 2014. $ 10 for a Caesar chicken salad with very little lettuce and a small amount of chicken(croutons too). I actually asked if it was from the senior menu and the waitress said no. She did agree the size was very small, compared to what the restaurant served before at a lower price. Do not order the steak unless you want mainly fat and gristle. After eating it… you will notice how many pieces you have set aside that were not eaten because of being tough and you cannot chew it.

Sterling Café is a friendly, personable, inviting eatery with attentive and helpful staff. The meals are brought in a timely manner and very presentably also. The salads were colorful and tasty, and the main courses looked lovely on the plates. They tasted plenty fine, so our only trouble was that they were overly greasy, even too greasy. So, we ended up not eating as much as we might’ve done. Otherwise, this eatery is very pleasant.

We’ve been going with friends for a few years who karaōke on Saturday nights, so we have dinner. The cheese burgers are wonderful. The serving portions(even Senior menu items) are large. We’ve probably ordered most things on the menu and haven’t had something we wouldn’t order again. Mary Ann is a fabulous server, super efficient and friendly.

I love this place. Good value and consistent quality. The crepes are great. Anything on the menu is good — the hamburgers are excellent.

This is a delicious café. They have an extensive menu, something for everyone. I had a savory crêpe that was outstanding. My husband had the ribs and really enjoyed them. We had dessert crepes and they were delicious and huge. We’ll be back to try something different. Great service and prices reasonable.

I come here with my son a few times a week… the food is great and the waitress is always pleasant ! I love the chicken fried steak and the French toast is the best! I recommend coming her for breakfast. You don’t need to wait in line like Kim’s and the food is always hot!

Great little homey diner. For the past year or so I have stopped in about twice a month after we walking my dog in the local park friends Who have joined me rate this restaurant as one of their favorites too bad they’re too old to know how to use Unilocal so I’m doing it for them other chain restaurants in. Lincoln are now closed you have to go to Roseville to find a better breakfast coffee is not so good but Ice-T is great

15 minutes to get coffee and water, 5 more to get a menu, 25 min in still no waitress to order from, then new customers sit down and BOOM they get served and order placed. 1.5 hours by myself to get cold bacon and eggs with English muffin drowned in butter and the most horrible pancake ever made Maybe it’s me but I won’t be back, pathetic, should be no no stars! Drive 3 more minutes and there are GREAT places to eat downtown

YUM! I love sterling café, I typically come in for breakfast. I usually dine-in but have called in for pick up a few times. They have friendly staff and are fast paced, my food is always correct and out quickly and fresh. My favorite breakfast is the Thanks Given crêpe with ham instead of turkey and a side of sour cream! Reminds me of a California crêpe egg omelet from one of the best breakfasts I have ever eaten at a restaurant in Monterey, First Awakenings(which was also featured on Rachel Rays cooking show on the Food Network channel).

The Monterey Crêpe I ordered was excellent. It’s hard to find a place that does it right: crepes that are thin and light– Sterling’s got it right.

I’d say Sterling café has the best breakfast in Lincoln! Service is great, very welcoming. They serve breakfast and lunch all day, and the crepes are to die for! I’ll be back for more! Yum!

Of all the little breakfast spots in this town, sterling is my least favorite. I came in this past weekend and I felt so rushed to order and get out. The place was lucky to be a quarter filled. The omelette I ordered came out more like a scramble and was small and overcooked. The toast was dry and not hot. I wish this place was better but it never is.

Had breakfast with my son today, but I pretty much have mixed feelings about this place. They gave my son a adult menu, so I asked for a kids menu. I was told they were out of kids menus, and for me to let them know what my son wanted and they would make it in «kids size». Well okayyyyy, I said he’ll take a single pancake and 1 egg, is this on the kids menu? And I was told«sure». Well okayyyyy, again. Food was average, ordered the steak for myself which was nicely cooked the way I requested. But then, I got the bill. Well, they charged me $ 7 for my son’s so called kids breakfast. I mean we eat out a LOT, and I’ve never paid $ 7 for a single pancake. So anyways, I paid my bill and decided I probably will not be going back. Such a bummer too because I was hoping I found a new Lincoln breakfast spot. I guess I’ll stick to Kim’s or Annie’s.

I’d have to agree on the décor, it’s a little off… That being said they serve breakfast all day. We came around dinner. The place was clean, the bathroom was clean. The server was very polite, timely in delivering drinks, appetizers and food. When our entrees came food was hot, well seasoned. I ordered a ham and cheese with lentil soup. It had nice crispy bread, melty cheese, thin sliced ham. Lentil soup was perfect for a cold day, my only comment is I don’t really care for meat in my lentils, and the kind of meat was bland. You could also smell a bit of the beef bullion cubes. Overall I really like the causal dining experience this place provides. It’s not a generic chain restaurant. Food was well prepared the night we went!

We’ve come here off and on for several years now. Cute, clean, and friendly café. The service is great here, can’t say we’ve had a negative experience with it, the servers have always been very attentive and courteous. We absolutely LOVE their daily NY steak special, for $ 9.99, you get a NY steak with your choice of potato or rice along with veggies, bread and soup or salad. We’ve paid more at steakhouses and received less with mediocre steak. The veggies that accompany the steak are always excellent and so is the baked potato. Haha, I’m critiquing the sides! But, it’s really well prepared. We’ve had hits-steak was prepared, spot on. Misses-steak was over or under cooked. We’ve also had some of the pasta dishes and sorry to say, it just didn’t do it for us. The spaghetti with meatballs, were mediocre, the recommended seafood linguine, much to be desired. The sandwiches are like any other sandwich you get elsewhere. If you are looking for a good steak dinner and you are in Lincoln, I highly recommend Sterling Café. For $ 9.99, it’s hard to beat!
