I arrived at The Blend at 1:15pm on a Sunday afternoon. When I walked up to the door I noticed the hours sign on the door. On Sunday’s they are open until 3pm. I had planned on doing some studying and reading until 3pm. It would be perfect. Upon walking up to the counter, I was«greeted» with a look of disapproval because I was a student carrying a backpack. The first words said to me by the owner was«we close at 3 not any later. When I say 3, I mean that I’M OUTOFHEREAT3 you’re out at 2:45pm.» Having worked in customer service, I now understood why I had heard rumors that The Blend was heading down hill. Needless to say, I didn’t spend $ 15 – 20 at The Blend because I went somewhere else where they were friendly and greeted me upon entering. It was worth driving an extra mile to go to Mo Java than stay at The Blend and be kicked out before they were even closed! DON’T GOTOTHEBLEND. Rude rude rude.

I am so in love with The Blend, but The Blend lives in Lincoln… so one could say that I’m in a long distance relationship. I can tell you with certainty that this one’s going to work out. Yvette, the owner, is such a doll and truly cares about her businesses and the people that patronize her little coffee shop, and if this place was in St. Louis, I’d probably be there on a daily basis. First of all, they brew eight types of coffee daily. DAILY. And each blend is better than the one before. Angel’s Kiss is my favorite and has hints of cinnamon, vanilla, and other spices, and I like to add a little of the White Chocolate Truffle(because why would you not want to do that?) She even has a Blueberry Cobbler blend that tastes exactly like, yup, you guessed it… blueberry cobbler, pastry and all. When I wandered in randomly(as if being in Lincoln isn’t random enough), Yvette gave me a warm welcome and wanted to know all about what I do, what kind of coffee I like, and she was really thrilled when she realized I was about to sit in the same chair to work for a good few hours. The wireless network is pretty reliable, and all they ask is that you purchase something if you’re going to use it. I snagged a cute little table by the windows and went to order lunch. For the sake of being healthy I ordered the Peter Rabbit salad which is all vegetables, and I added lemon pepper chicken. You should probably know that everything here is healthy, local, and most things are homemade. My salad was was just what I was wanting and it was so sweet to hear the owner interacting with customers and absolutely loving what she does. The next morning I stopped in for breakfast on my way out of town and after getting more coffee(my God, I’m missing that so bad right now) I asked for a breakfast sandwich and a fruit cup. That’s when I realized the fruit cup had things in it that I can’t eat because of allergies(anything melon), and when I told Yvette nevermind on the fruit, she went in the back and made me my own bowl of strawberries, blueberries, orange slices and pineapple. All fresh. And the breakfast sandwich? Fluffy eggs, cheddar, and lean ham. Now THAT’S what I call a breakfast for the road. I even found an adorable coffee cup to add to my collection. Go. Spend your well earned money here, and enjoy some of the best homemade food & unique coffee you’ve ever had. I was tempted to drive there this morning, but I couldn’t justify the seven hour trip. Thank you, thank you, thank you for a lovely and surprising Lincoln local biz experience!

I was very impressed with the quality of this coffee shop! Traveling from Oregon this was the perfect stop to recharge for the open road. I ordered a breakfast bagel that was incredibly delicious and far better than I’ve come to expect from most coffee shops. Even more to my amazement was the vast selection of high quality coffee this place offered. If you want to avoid heartburn caused by low grade, high acidity coffee(which is offered in most other shops especially SB), then I would recommend checking this place out. Great conversation and customer service as well, which is steadily disappearing in modern day America. The Pacific Northwest is supposed to know its coffee, but I have yet to come across a coffee shop around OR, WA that has it figured out as well as The Blend. If I were a Lincoln local I would feel ashamed buying coffee anywhere else and not supporting this wonderful small business. Thanks for the great experience! I will be back on the next road trip.

Let me start off with the environment first– The owner is extremely warm and welcoming! She cares a lot about her customers and will remember you next time you come in. The setting is very relaxed and great place to go to catch up with friends or study. The food is SOFRESH, delicious and even healthy! Everything is homemade– THEYEVEN smoke their own salmon! I love going there for breakfast especially because they have the best cappuccinos in town! Another reason I love the breakfast is for their egg strata and cinnamon rolls that just melt in your mouth. The prices are good, especially for getting everything homemade(ex) the guacamole on the California sandwich! What an amazing little coffee shop…

This is a great coffee house, if you are, doing homework, settling in next to the cozy fire place to read a book or chat with friends, even browsing their kitschy store. The coffee was good and they did have plenty of house blends and specialty coffees to choose from. However, if you are are in a hurry to get back on the road, I wouldn’t recommend stopping. They are as slow as some others have mentioned and we definitely could have driving into Lincoln to get some coffee in the same amount of time.

Friendly owner. More of a clean, restaurant feel than comfy coffee shop feel. It took them 20 minutes to make us 2 coffees when we were the only customers there. I think one was training the other, but it was not what we were looking for since we were trying to get out of town in the morning. They put whip on my soy mocha without asking. Didn’t see it until we were back in I-80. Won’t be going back in future drives through Lincoln. Will pick up java in downtown Lincoln or wait until Omaha.

This is my favorite place to buy coffee to make at home. I’m not much of a person that hangs out in a coffee shop but their environment looks relaxing, and appealing. Back to their coffee… My favorite of theirs is la minita. I’ve been happy with every coffee we’ve tried there. Overall I’m more satisfied with the product and service here versus the other coffee shops in Lincoln. The owner and servers are always nice and helpful(as any business owner should be) and it’s been nice to develop relationships with some of them. There are TVs, and wifi. They ask that you buy something small every now and then to help prevent moochers crowding up the available tables.

Kind of a nice«hang out» kind of place. the coffee is decent, the ambiance is nice. If I had more time to myself I would probably hang here with my laptop for a «kid free» afternoon… which rarely happens.

I don’t think this is a very good coffee shop mostly because each time I have visited, the staff has always been rude and demeaning towards me for no apparent reason! I went in a few times to buy a coffee and check my email and relax, I live on the north side of town, so I do not like driving downtown to sit and drink coffee. I have not had a good experience at the Blend ever; and last time I went there, some lady in the back told me there is a minimum $ 4 purchase to use wi-fi! She basically called me out in front of all the other customers and staff, I was very offended and embarrassed. It was like she wanted me to just say«oh okay» and buy some more stuff! So I left without buying anything. She was very rude about it, so I don’t go there anymore, I’ve stopped giving this place chances. Now, I make the trip to panera or starbucks, where I’m not treated like a low-life second class citizen. I just couldn’t believe how rude this woman treated someone she had never met!

I’m not a coffee drinker, but this is a very cute spot for those in the far-north Lincoln developments, OR if you need a nice resting spot near I-80. Nice tables & conversation areas. I think a group was cleaning up from a baby shower last time I was there. They also have a fireplace in the middle, & books you can read. Free wi-fi. Very cozy — I wish I would’ve hung out there more when I lived up north.
