Time Warner Cable

I am giving this company one star only because it is not possible to give them zero stars. In fact, the most appropriate rating for this worthless company would be for me to BILL them ten stars for the time it is taking me to write this review.
Every single thing I have tried to accomplish — from setting up service, to fixing numerous voice mail problems, to making changes to our service, has threatened to send me to the hospital with a stroke, and I’m someone whose blood pressure is usually dangerously low.
The only positive thing I can say about this horrible company is that whenever I think my blood pressure is so low I might pass out, I call their customer service department and BOOM.. .Blood pressure is now high enough to boil my brain cells. Problem solved, and without expensive prescriptions or harsh side effects.
A group of mentally challenged chimpanzees could do a better job of customer service and technical support than these people.

We have been in conversation with TWC since December about our issues. We had representatives out and they said they ‘fixed’ the issue. Spoke with a representative and they refunded half of our fee after I explained that I was a little upset that we were paying almost $ 70 for 2 – 4 Mbps download. After that was reimbursed the service just kept getting worse. I spoke with a representative over chat last Saturday and they scheduled an appointment for 6 – 7 on Wednesday — since my husband and I both work all day (imagine that). 6 rolls around, then 6:30. Nothing. I get online and start chatting a representative named Dexter. He tells me that they have absolutely NO documentation about our scheduled visit. I ask him about the ticket history, considering I work in the technical field and I know how customer service SHOULD work. However, TWC lacks that as well as many other things. Instead of you know, taking the time and effort (this is your job) to go through the ticket history in order to efficiently assist a CUSTOMER he tells me that work order never existed. We try to call the phone number for assistance and we get put on hold for 45 minutes. Finally, we end the call. My husband calls the next day and speaks to someone, they make him go through the troubleshooting process AGAIN. Something that we have already at least 3 times over the phone with representatives over the last few months. Finally, they realize that it’s time to get a representative out (something that was scheduled originally for Wednesday but darn those appointments just growing feet and walking out by themselves — little rascals). So again, we schedule an appointment for 6 – 7 today. Friday, before Valentine’s Day. Even though we had plans, considering we need our internet because I sometimes work from home (again — shocking) it needed to be resolved.
Well, the representatives got here about 5 minutes to 6. I’m super excited about their promptness. My husband went down and showed them were our modem was set up and they just can’t seem to figure it out. They say that they are getting GREAT signals. Then my husband shows them the 2 – 4 we are getting from every single device in our home.
It’s been an hour and 40 minutes at this point, and right now they are still downstairs trying to figure it out. I’m not upset with these workers, I am really upset with the situation and the shitty service we have received this entire time. I don’t like bullshit, or being given the run around. A straight answer suites me just fine. At this point I would not recommend this service to my worst enemy — I wouldn’t even recommend it to Donald Trump.
UPDATE:
The techs finally left because they couldn’t figure it out. After wasting almost our entire Friday evening they said that they were pawning this off to their Advanced Technical Support team, but OH WAIT it’s gets better — they don’t get in until Monday. No consolation, no sorry, no we did all we can just complete horseshit all around. You guys are the worst.

Cheap internet, and once it’s set up, good service. Had a couple hiccups over the year plus of having service. Taken care of fairly quickly and easily.
Nearly all the customer service reps have been friendly and easy to work with. Nearly.
The problem…
There seems to be no oversight when there is a problem. An appointment? No, we have no record of an appointment on that day? After enough appointment mishaps, somehow a tech was able to set up my internet at my new place all over the phone. WTF? why did I ever schedule an appointment in the first place? You can do this over the phone! Annoyed.
Oh, my service move was messed up, so I have a new account number. And, because of other issued, I left my last address with a giant credit balance. yay! But guess what, that credit didn’t follow me to my new address! Really?!! Granted another phone call or three later, someone was able to fix this. Just waiting for the credit to be applied to my account number at new address.
I feel fairly confident TWC would have been able to make sure I was notified at my address pretty damn quick if that was a past due bill instead of a credit balance. :(

This is a big business with big business practices, HORRIBLE customer service, and the most ANNOYING automated phone service I’ve ever encountered. Not to mention the ABSURD rates they charge, it’s a crying shame this company has such a monopoly here in Lincoln.

So, I called to set up internet for my office space over the phone and they scheduled to install 2 weeks later. Despite the fact they had my address confirmed and there are numerous other businesses in the building who use Time Warner Cable, when they arrived they thought it was residential.
When the installation guy got to my office he said it wasn’t possible to install internet as it wasn’t wired for it. He was very nice and had excellent customer service.
Later I called the customer service number to cancel numerous times and was told to go in to the local office in person. Went to the local office (which is a nice building in South Lincoln) and it was staffed with about four customer service agents who were helping the customers in line. The supervisor confirmed that the installer wasn’t able to install internet however I was still charged $ 53. The woman who was supposed to issue the refunds wasn’t there so he told me he’d call me the next day and give me a refund.
Seems like an awful lot of run around for $ 53. Isn’t it funny how when a company owes you money you can’t seem to get it yet when you owe them they’re absolutely available at all times? The guy suggested that if I was going to move to a different office to just transfer the money over. No thank you. Told him I just want the refund. Still waiting for the call back tomorrow to get my money back.

It’s the next day and I ended up calling the number on the card the supervisor gave me and it was a very unprofessional recording but wasn’t him. Emailed him and heard back from him late in the day with an apology for not getting back to me sooner. He said they are processing my refund and I can expect it soon but give them until Jan 6^th for it to clear my bank. Sheesh… What a hassle this has been.
It’s now the 11^th, still no refund and the manager has avoided my emails. Rediculous. How am I going to get my refund?

My cable internet goes out sporadically and indefinitely. Do you know how many times I’ve had to unplug/​replug my modem and router? Per day? It’s probably every hour and a half. I have the basic internet package and it costs me $ 67/​month. For what? I pay for ONE THING and TWC fucking sucks at it. And don’t even try to call the customer service line. That’s just an exercise in pushing buttons to go nowhere. If I had an option, I’d look elsewhere. But TWC is the monopoly in this town. FUCK YOU WITH A PINEAPPLE, TWC. FIX YOUR SHITTY INTERNET.

I’ve had decent help when picking up equipment or talking to someone while physical inside but every time I have called in to the customer service like every single person has failed at doing their job to get someone over to take care of whatever needs to be done. So I know it can be time consuming but long story short something might actually get taken care of if you go in instead of calling.

More unreliable that my ex-​girlfriends 1993 Ford Fiesta, & that thing was shitty. DirecTV is Time Warners daddy. My #1 life goal is to make enough money to buy TWC & dissolve the company faster than Alka-​Seltzer. How’s that for making the world a better place?

Absolutely horrible. I’ve been promised a technician to come over and fix my problem TWICE and both times nobody showed up. No call or anything, just assurance from a customer service rep that they are taking care of it. Time warner is a farce and I have absolutely no idea how this business continues to stay open. Time warner is the bane of my existence

I have internet only with Time Warner and live in Lincoln. Internet is spotty especially after the 10 pm hour, computer can freeze up (as though it’s somehow on overload) and have to turn the computer off because it won’t go anywhere, let it rest and turn it back on again. Many times a short clip video won’t even come up but instead the page goes blank and stays there frozen. The folks at customer service in Lincoln have been accommodating, but when you call the national number, you get oversees people that are difficult to understand and the first thing they want to do to diagnose your problem is sell you an upgrade which is so insulting and a waste of my time. One guy was so persistent and wouldn’t get off the subject of an upgrade that I just had to hang up. Fair service from oversees.

the city of Lincoln Nebraska really needs to allow competition to flourish regarding Internet providers. I was getting better Internet service in a hotel in Barcelona Spain that can get in my in my own home here in Lincoln Nebraska. I am unable to adequately connect between my business and my home because of variable in and adequate upload speeds. When an offer on Time Warner’s website this month suggested that I could upgrade to faster Internet speeds, I took them up on this only to be told that the Internet site is completely wrong and I cannot upgrade without a substantial increase in price over the cost quoted on the Internet. there are no alternatives in Lincoln. DSL is not adequate for business. Between the absence of adequate arterial roads to move traffic, and inadequate Internet access to the rest of the world, there seems to be a significant cabal here that are determined to keep Lincoln small and insignificant. Wake up Lincoln!

I am outraged. I discovered recently that my name and phone number were NOT included in the local phone book nor were they registered in the 411 information. Upon inquiry, I found out that Time Warner has «gone green» and after May 2012 no longer reports this information for new customers to the local phone book company! After 45 years in Lincoln, I am no longer available to my friends via phone book. I can’t believe it. Apparently this information is ONLY available online. Give me a break. Not all of us are on our computers minute by minute.

Terrible Internet provider.
They get 1 star due to the fact that they once sent someone out to replace the router but service is awful.
Internet stops working regularly, unfortunately probably more than it actually works.

Spotty service, continuous rate hikes, slow DVR boxes… you name it, at Time Warner it needs fixing.

Time Warner Cable is Crooked.
I lived in Lincoln, NE for 10 years. All the time I had Time Warner Cable and Internet I had nothing but headakes with service. Bad snowy tv and intermittent internet. I’d call when my internet service was out and would be told it would be 4 to 8 days before they could get anyone out to get it working.
I finally sold my home and disconnected from Time Warner. Now two months later and still have not received a refund. I’ve called several times, filed a BB complaint and also a Consumer Protection Complaint. In each responce the basically lied and said my service was disconnected two weeks later than what it actually was. They also went from two to four weeks for a refund to 8 to 10 weeks. They responded to Consumer Protection that it would be at least another three weeks. I wouldn’t bet on it but if so that would make almost 3 months to receive a refund. I asked what if I hadn’t paid that last bill and waited for the ending balance to pay. I was told that I would be charged a late charge.
Can you believe it. Don’t pay and wait on the final bill after disconnect and I would be charged a late charge. Pay the full bill on time and wait 3 months for a refund and possibly more if at all.
Time Warner Cable is arogant, rude to its customers and only is able to get customers because they are the only company available. They prevent compitetion from entering their territory and treat their captive customers like crap. After you are no longer a customer the treatment is even worse and that is what I was told by corporate office. Quote, Your not our customer and we have no obligation to you about when we refund you payment.
Make sure you follow through with complaints about this company. Don’t give up. It will get you no where, but at least the complaint is documented. Hopefully with enough, something will eventually be done.

This place ripped me off! I paid for several years of spotty service and they never rectified their mistakes. Internet rarely worked, and every time I complained they just insisted on sending out one of their retarded technicians to «check it out». Technicians don’t know a damn thing they just run a bunch of stupid tests and then say «we’ll have someone come out and fix this in the main part int he basement where the cable comes in». Problem never gets fixed. I paid extra for RoadRunner turbo for over a year, and never got a speed increase. When they refused to rectify the situation, I felt they owed me big time so I just stopped paying them. Now they are trying to collect… GOOD LUCK ASSHOLES!

Internet speeds are decent, probably the best in Lincoln, but they still aren’t fast. I would ditch this monopoly if I had a better choice. Cannot wait for google to come take over.

OK Time Warner, I really don’t like you. I think your HD channels suck and your digital boxes take WAY too long to reboot. Five whole minutes? Really?
The only redeeming factor is that you seem to have nice people working for you, and customer service makes you or breaks you these days. I’ve only talked to two of them, but if the others are anything like them you have a good thing goin’.
