Two Men and a Truck

I can’t say I’ve experienced better but if I ever move again, I doubt I’ll use Two Men and a Truck. I hate to leave a bad review because the two young college boys helping us move were very polite and professional. But they were SLOW and they didn’t move but maybe a box at a time. We moved from a two bedroom apartment to a ranch style home a mile away! My husband spent several nights and took several trips to unload the bulk of the boxes so it wouldn’t take as long! I have a lot of stuff, but the literally loaded up from our floor level apartment with a patio door straight to the truck and then most of it went straight into our garage at the new house. It took 5 hours!!! It cost nearly $ 600! They were also late because they got lost, which is fine, but not if you’re charging me from the office location. After just buying a house and spending a week packing, moving boxes and cleaning, the last thing I wanted was to have to fork over $ 600 to move. Ridiculous!!!

These guys cost me thousands. Asked them to load a 40′ container in Lincoln. Told the girl on the phone it wasn’t going to be a walk in the park. Lots of items. They turned up and said they wouldn’t load a container for international shipping and didn’t know if they’d be paid anyway. I had to rebook container and pay a week extra on storage to get the job done. Just disgusted. They knew they were dealing with an Australian calling from Melbourne, Australia who owns a house in Lincoln, Nebraska. International loading excuse was a joke. Loading to go across town, across the USA or across the Pacific doesn’t require different duty of care. I wasn’t asking them to take any responsibility anyway. Payment! I gave my Lincoln address, my brother in law was on site. My next door Neighbour and warehouse owner where loading took place was there. I also verified I could pay be credit card when organizing with the guy at 2 men and a truck the night before. People who aren’t going to pay aren’t likely to be making sure payment arrangements are correct. Brother in law could have taken cash to them anyway. The reality is that this was a difficult load and they just walked away and left me in trouble. My wife then found multiple bad reviews on these guys and couldn’t understand why I used them. The real reason is that they were available on short notice. Makes sense for them to be not working or booked heavily when you think about it or research them.

I took their services last week. But I deeply regret, as their charges are excessive, and some hidden costs exist. Though apparently, it had seemed to me it’s reasonable since the two men had to carry in lots of heavy stuffs.
They have a horrible charge of office to office. Even though I made the appointment at 12.00 pm, they counted 11.30 am as starting time. Both ends they added 30 mins, summing up to one hour of hidden charges of $ 108. They will also add fuel charges. When I ordered over the phone, was not aware of the horrific charges.
Their office is located within 10 – 12 mins from my both residences, and they drew up an imaginary figure of 1 hour, 30 mins both side. Why will you pay them for their commuting to your home?
Please do not take any hourly basis service, unless you are 100% sure of how many hours you will take. For example move a Piano from one place to another.
I would rather approximate and stick to that before negotiating with any movers. I strongly discourage others to take their service, and getting ripped of.

Two men did a great job moving us last weekend. All three guys were very friendly and careful with our stuff, even the piano. I would definitely use them again and refer to others.
