This place really needs an overhaul. We visit dairy stores on other Big Ten campuses and this one is really lacking. There’s no real comfortable place to hang out and the ice cream is just so-so. Go to Ivanna Cone for a better ice cream experience.

The ice cream was awesome! The only thing is that the tables are a little small. Other than that the staff was very polite and the prices were extremely reasonable!

Soooo good! Fresh, creamy… So many flavors and a beautiful garden to walk through while enjoying. If you haven’t been here it’s a local must… Also fab gift boxes to send and receive… I use them for holiday gifts… U won’t be disappointed

Who doesn’t like ice cream? :) It’s very creamy, which is not my favorite kind of ice cream, but it’s locally made, cool, refreshing and lots of great flavors!

Treated myself to a cup of Cookies and Cream and it was amazing! The scoop was so huge that I couldn’t finish it. I wish I could have though, because it was so creamy and great. They have a lot of unusual flavors – Bavarian Ming, lavender – but all look tasty. I can’t wait to come back here when I’m at UNL!

This place is fun, and on UNL’s east campus. It has a fun vibe, although it is a cafeteria so don’t expect too much. We usually eat outside on the benches enjoying our ice cream. Like other reviewers have said, the students give you a lot of ice cream for the price, and I enjoy trying new flavors.

We are fairly new to town and had heard wonderful things about the incredible ice cream here. We decided to give it a try on a beautiful Saturday evening. The only reason I’m even giving it two stars is because the beautiful grounds outside the building. We really enjoyed walking through them after we left. As far as the ice cream goes we were anticipating it being really creamy and full of flavor. It was neither. We didn’t even bother to finish it. We were both disappointed and will not return.

this is the best ice cream around here. One thing unless you come close to closing time, all the parking on campus here is either reserved, or pay parking. they do have good service. and the ice cream flavors do change daily. this is my favorite ice cream place. I have also had there ice cream at ice cream socials. if you are wanting ice cream for this you will need to call ahead a few days.

Since I’m on east campus, the UNL dairy store is a great place to grab a quick bite during a busy day. It can get a little busy during noon so if you can sneak in slightly before or towards the end of the lunch hour you have better luck of getting out of a long line. The ice cream is just great, I have enjoyed many flavored with my favorites being pistachio and peppermint. Most of the flavors without cookies in it are gluten free. My coworkers enjoy lunches there and say the sandwiches are fantastic. I’ve wanted to try things that sound like they should be gluten free but that is a downside about this place is no one has any idea about whether or not anything except the ice cream has gluten. Prices are reasonable and the atmosphere is just a fun casual place to sit and have lunch with classmates. If you haven’t tried it yet I recommend it, would love if they’d get more information about gluten content to their employees.

This is a must stop when in Lincoln. I used to live really close to the East campus, and enjoyed the mini cheeses so I could try several flavors. The ice cream is really delicious though, a showstopper, and a great price. Enter at Dairy Store Drive and Holdrege — meters on left and right for parking. You can taste any flavor. I got a HUGE scoop of 4-H Clover Mint(see photo) on a waffle cone, on the cheap. While licking and transporting myself to a happy place, I peeked into the dairy processing room through the windows just west of the store. Delicious!

I really need to petition my alma mater to add one of these. Food: My friend used to work in the dental building behind this store, so we had several opportunities to drop in and sample the cones. Their flavors change daily, but one thing always remains the same: the ice cream is unbelievably good. There is actually a food science school associated with the store, so I guess there would be something horribly wrong if it wasn’t knock-your-socks-off amazing. I came twice and had two strawberry concoctions( , ) in waffle cones. The ice cream was sinfully creamy and full of fresh fruit chunks. Perfect treat for a hot and sweaty Nebraskan summer day. Atmosphere: If you enjoy the décor of a school cafeteria, look no further, you’ve found home. The neon UNL Dairy Store sign is super cute( ). Service: I think students work here. They really cram the ice cream into the cone well, so you actually receive a sizeable amount of dairy with each purchase. Synopsis: Studying stress plus easy access to inexpensive, high quality ice cream seems like a bad combination, but it’s a great spot for visitors to shake off the heat.

I was searching the internet for things to do in Lincoln and found this place. Wow – I am impressed! I would say this is one of the top three vanilla ice creams I have ever had. The store is very clean and also serves hot sandwiches. One of these days, I’ll probably come back and pick up cheese and ice cream to go. As an added bonus, the meters are not monitored on Saturday afternoons, making parking free. It is easy to get into and out of, and it overlooks a beautiful wooded view of the East campus. This is a must stop if you are visiting Lincoln!

I have been going to the UNL Dairy Store for years, mostly for the ice cream, though they sell cheese too. The ice cream is really good and even though I now live several states away, when I’m in town in the summer I’ll go. They sell cones as well as ice cream you can take home.
