Got the works burrito and tried both sauces. The green is yummy, red pretty average. Chicken was well cooked and flavored. Reasonable price for a good sized burrito. Will have to come back and try the bowl or tacos. Pleasant staff with good recommendations.

Yummy taco, rice and bean combo. Little harder with kids because no hamburger which they’re used to but my son loves the carne asada after convincing him to try it. All the kids LOVED the salsa and chips. Unique atmosphere. Definitely will try again when in town for children’s museum next door!

I’ve been there three times and every dish I’ve had has been awesome. The employees at Wahoos feel like friends as they take your order and converse with you while waiting for your food. Everything tastes awesome. The smothered spicy fish burrito is epic. Unfortunately Wahoo’s is not the local restaurant I thought it was, I learned it was a chain when I was visiting my home state Colorado and saw a Wahoo’s sign.

People stand in line in California to get into a Wahoos Taco. Nebraskan’s don’t know how lucky they are! Now that the Lincoln location is under new management(August ’15) this location is running great! Great food, great prices, great tap beer selection, great catering!

I’ve been here 3 times in the past 2 weeks, and I’ll most likely keep coming back. Tommy at the counter is great at recommending a meal that will satisfy your hunger and appeal to your taste buds. And for me, he was able to recommend a delicious low-carb option(Wahoo’s Salad with Volcanic Fish). The greens are fresh, the fish is delicious, and all of the flavors blend perfectly. My dinner companion had the two taco combo and really enjoyed the tacos as well as the rice and beans(you can get a mix of both types of beans if you ask). Tonight I tried the chicken soup too and it was great.

Having been to the one in Hawaii it stays true to form. A skate/surf vibe that seems more like a walk through Santa Cruz, CA than a restaurant, but at least there aren’t urine soaked hippies lying about. The food was ok. I could only image the challenge to get fresh seafood in Nebraska. I love fish tacos and the menu here does not disappoint. The down side is that it is virtually hidden. I have taken my daughter next door to the Children’s museum a few times and never saw this.

Fish is good but fish is better at wahoo. I hope they don’t raise price of their tasty fish burrito after my great compliments. This is one of the best place to get fish burrito. No, the fish is solid, healthy, perfectly stringy, not watery or tasteless like those zombie fish raised in fish farm in Vietnam and sold in cheap hypermarts. Order yourself a side of chinese hot sauce, I think it is called mr lee’s sauce to go with the burrito. If i’m not wrong it already comes with the green chutney sauce. You’ll love it. But guys, please don’t raise the price. The counter staff is very friendly and sincerely helpful. I used to live in Las Vegas and their wahoo fish burrito is equally good. Thank you guys!

Love this place! Skater dude working was very helpful in choosing what to try. Got the Wahoo fish tacos with black beans and brown rice. I love healthy food and it was all just what I like. Chips and salsa were good as well. Salsa had some smokey chipotle peppers you could tell which I liked. And the hipster skater atmosphere is just what I like. See you soon Wahoo taco dude! I’ll be back.

We stopped into Wahoo’s after a football game for late lunch. The place was a little crowded since we weren’t the only people hungry after the morning game. The wall menu is a little hard to read for a first time visit but there was a picture of a Wafu Bowl by the entrance so I just got that with brown rice & black beans. It was really good. I now realize I was lucky because, apparently, much of the menu has lots of cilantro but this didn’t and I’m not a cilantro fan. It was nice to have healthy food on game day. The Wafu bowl is tofu with veggies and rice & beans. Veggies were perfectly cooked and still crisp. Also, the staff was super nice and seemed genuinely interested in our experience. My husband also liked his shrimp bowl. Bonus for clean bathrooms, too. I’ll return if I’m in Lincoln again.

The atmosphere here is fun. The menu board is a bit confusing and over whelming. The service is fabulous. I got a steak burrito… and it was delicious. The tortilla wasn’t one of those soft stretchy kind that everyone else has… but tasted homemade. There was a fair amount of cilantro but not overdone. The pico salsa was great too. The order taker seemed to care about me and not only greeted me but said goodbye when I left. and invited me back. Yeah I’ll be back.

Salesperson was thorough and helpful. Loved the cilantro in both meals. Gave them a fresh taste. Skip the queso Dip. Chips are kind of hard and meal was too big with all the rice and beans. Big fan of salsa and green sauce… yum.

Every time we go here we get consistent friendly and fun service and the shrimp tacos and brown rice are INCREDIBLE. They even gave me an awesome free drink on my birthday. I haven’t been able to find shrimp tacos like these anywhere else in the area! Now that I’ve moved to Omaha– I miss it terribly!

Wahoo’s is alright. I liked it the first time I went there, when I was ravenously hungry, and less so the second time. Both times I ordered two cajun-spiced chicken tacos. What I wasn’t ready for the first time was the veritable forest of lettuce taking over my entire plate. Underneath that foliage somewhere were my tacos. I don’t count this against them, because hey, some people like lettuce. I don’t like lettuce but neither did I say«no lettuce», so I’m really to blame. The second time I came prepared, and ordered my food sans lettuce. This restaurant has fallen under the spell of the Cilantro Witch, and the flavor of it was in everything. I’m one of those people who don’t like the taste of cilantro. There was cilantro in the rice. Cilantro in the chicken. Cilantro that was blended up into some sort of green liquid, garnished with some cilantro. But anyway, here’s the bottom line. Food: The chicken is nice and flavorful, especially when cajun-spiced. The beans were good. The tortillas were… eh. Frustrating. They had a great flavor but were very fragile, and I could never get them to my mouth without them ripping and dumping stuff all over me. If not for the ever-present ghost of cilantro, I would probably have gone back some more. But alas, there’s no avoiding that fateful herb… Service: Both times I went the service was good. Creepily good. I think the cashier was trying to hit on me. It’s hard to say if they act the same way to everyone, but it seemed like the people who worked there genuinely liked their jobs and gave a crap, which is nice to see. Atmosphere: Yeah okay, the atmosphere is a little different. I’m not really a «skater» so I felt a little out of place the first time I walked in. There are stickers everywhere. But it’s not really dumpy; in fact, it’s actually very well taken care of. It’s clean. It’s intentionally decorated. That works for me. If I were just judging this place by the food, it would probably get two stars. The food just wasn’t my thing. It might be other people’s thing, though. The service and the atmosphere are great. I recommend you at least give it a try.

You better love Cilantro — if so, read on! Wahoo’s is a fun change of pace for taco(and burrito) lovers. I have been in about 5 times now and tried a few different things. It’s a very different feel(And taste) than most taco joints or Mexican restaurants in town. Any place I can get fish and rice is a winner. First, the bad news: this place is always dead. You go on any week night and there’s nobody here — only a few college kids that don’t seem to be eating or drinking, just sitting there watching the televisions. Seems to be a lot of friends of the staff that hang out. It’s very low key and if you like quiet, with beer and all the ambiance of a skate shop — you’re golden! But you are reading this to hear about the food, and that’s the good news! I have been a fan of the pork carnitas. Lots of juicy pork goes great in their tacos(which are all soft), which are served doubled up with two chewy tortillas, or in the burrito which gets a big, thinner, warm tortillas(more like you are familiar with). I’ve also tried the cajun white fish and was pleasantly surprised. The fish is dryer than I like, but considering it’s fast food and cajun style — no problem. I thought it was awesome that I could pick the meats to go in taquitos — even fish! Great for dipping in the guacamole and sour cream that comes on the side(and no extra charge, which is a nice change from having to hear the disclaimer every time you hit Chipotle…). You get to pick from two rice choices and two bean choices — you cannot go wrong. I am most impressed by the great brown rice and cajun style white beans that heap your plate and it’s a nice change for those familiar with Chipotle(And kin) just tossing a burrito on your tray and kicking you out. Great sides. Ask for the sauce«Christmas Style» to get both a spicy red salsa and a green cilantro love fest All in all, a quite, skate shop looking, bored college kid having, fantastic burrito rice and bean making joint that also has omg way too many veggie options for your special needs friends.

I was confused when I walked in. Seemed like a skate shop, not a restaurant. Found it odd that you order at the counter from a menu on the wall. There is no drink menu on the wall so if you want anything besides water or soda, ask for a menu. I had the 2 fish tacos plate with black beans and rice. Food was actually good and felt satisfied with the portion. Prices were average. If you don’t know what to order, start with fish tacos. This just wasn’t the same type of Wahoo’s I had been at in Denver. Seems like some sort of douchebag hangout more than anything…

Love this place! I always ate here when I lived in Honolulu and then to find out they just opened one in Lincoln… my mind was blown. The BEST shrimp tacos out there. Great place you just have to go.

So I love love love fish tacos!!! Wahoo’s stands up to my standards! the fish was cooked perfectly and the combination of the rice and beans, and pico was great. But here we are again with customer service issues. Zach is awesome, don’t know what he does exactly but he is super friendly. The chicks that work the register and take your order may need to lay off the recreational drugs. One chick looked so rough and didn’t even say a word to anyone, the other one I would equate to a kindergartner. She was possibly the dumbest person I have ever met, and literally had 0 customer service skills. The verdict for me is although the food and atmosphere were good, if those 2 girls are the only 2 people I will come into contact with to represent Wahoo’s, I won’t be back until they are gone!

To be fair, I am not a fish taco expert, so I don’t have a lot to compare to the fish taco I ate at Wahoo’s. I can say though that it was very flavorful, very distinct. I had one mild and one cajun spiced. Cajun spiced is better. They have decently priced appetizers. We order chips with salsa and guac and it was only about $ 2. Two fish taco meal with beans and rice $ 7. Prices are reasonable. I’m a little puzzled by the image they’re trying to sell. Is this a beach club, a contemporary mexican restaurant, or what? Kind of felt like Long John Silvers meets Applebee’s and opened inside of a Hollister. Accurate?

This new location is a piece of SoCal in Lincoln. The newly remodeled space is perfect for the type of restaurant Wahoo’s is, a surfer vibe with a focus on service and fresh food. I was there on the second day of business and they were still putting on some finishing touches to the décor. I had the shrimp tacos with black beans and white rice. It was a great mix of shrimp, shredded cabbage, pico and sauce. It was right on par with the other Wahoo’s I’ve eaten at in SoCal and Denver. They also have a full bar which is perfect for the downtown location though I hope they leave the kitchen open past 11pm as I was told when I asked. I’m not big on chain restaurants but this is a welcome addition to Lincoln and I look forward to returning soon.
