Helen is the best! The food is so fresh and tasty, heads above all the others out there! Plus prices are good and the décor is so warming and inviting I would recommend this little café to anyone!

Love the personal service and the new location. I recommend their cinnamon rolls and breakfast burrito. They make a great cappuccino!

First time here!!! Real homemade baked goods that look like Grandma made them. I had the carrot cake, don’t think I’ve ever had a better one. I’ll be back for sure… keep up the amazing work.

The owner Helen is a great gal. She works very hard at making the café a success. Everything she makes(freshly I might add) is delicious. My favorite are her scones. She will be moving down the street in just a few short weeks. Give it a try folks.

Stopped in for ice cream and ended up getting lunch. The wait time was very quick. The turkey and avocado sandwich was big enough to split and the waitress/cashier was extremely nice. The only thing I would change is the chips they offer should be a larger and better variety. What they have now are the tiny .25 cent bags that they up charge $ 1 for. We also got ice cream. Their single scoops are huge. Overall we were very happy with this café.

If I wanted a donut from Safeway, I would drive a mile down the road. Seriously a disgrace. Terrible service, and overpriced.

Coffee is just okay but the McBean shake is absolutely delicious, very overpriced(over $ 5 for one regular size) and everytime we have came into the shop one of the employees(a young girl) is always very impatient and has horrible customer service skills. she seems like she’s constantly in a bad mood! they’re lucky that the McBean shake is to die for or we’d never come back.

Went here for a quick breakfast and coffee and was not very impressed. First off I got an iced latte that just tasted like watered down milk and coffee. Then me and a friend shared a cranberry orange scone and a blueberry muffin. The scone was actually pretty good but nothing out of the ordinary. The muffin was very dry and not very flavorful.

Driving passed the whistle stop café everyday, I was excited to finally come in and check it out. Unfortunately, as a chai tea lover, I ordered one on the rocks, which did not taste very good and tasted nothing like a chai. I also tried to order a bagel. The bagels were sitting out wrapped in plastic. They were hard as a rock. I asked the girl at the counter if they were fresh and she said they had gotten them from Safeway a few days ago. VERY disappointing. Hungry and out of a bagel, I looked at the pastries. The pastry containers were bare and the pastries looked like they were a week old. I feel like, especially on Monday mornings, that the food should be fresh and abundant. Everything in the café is also very overpriced.

This is a beautiful building and location! Try to stop here for your morning coffee! Really nice staff and great coffee and breakfast treats! This business has more character than all the Starbucks in CA.

This is kind of a cool old place, lookin all old fashioned. Service was a little awkward. Couldn’t tell if she was in a bad mood or if I was taking too long to order. They had quite a few things that they were out of. 9.95 got me a turkey sandwich on a croissant with a side and a drink. Not bad. Food was pretty good. They had the damn front door open so there was a lot of flies roaming around which I hate. Would I be back, perhaps, but it won’t soon or often.

I’ve never had a baked good here that I didn’t like. I highly recommend their gluten free breakfast bars and the zucchini bread(both if which I first tried at the Sun City farmers market). I stopped in today to get some more breakfast bars and a slice of blackberry pie, and the slice I got was HUGE! And to that the friendly service, and I’ll definitely be coming back here again. It’s nice to have a full-service bakery in Lincoln.

I have tried this place about 4 times. I keep going back hoping for a change. I will say their milk shakes are good but that’s about it. The service in this place is just the worst. Its awkward and unfriendly. You have to order, then wait(a very long time) for your food to be prepared, then pay. I don’t understand why you can’t place an order, pay, then wait. Such a strange way to run a coffee shop. It took almost 30 minutes for them to make a cold veggie sandwich and a milk shake. There were 2 people in line in front of me at about 2 pm. It just shouldn’t take that long to make those simple items. And to top it all off the veggie sandwich was so plain, dry, and overall not good. Really disappointing to wait that long and end up with an unsatisfying lunch. The other times I’ve gone I’ve gotten the same service. Awkward and unfriendly people working there, super long wait times, and unimpressive food. The owner is very sweet and I’ve brought up these concerns to her but nothing has changed. Maybe she should stick to what she is good at. Ice cream, and based on other reviews, her scones. I would love a great local coffee shop to patronize but this place is just not it.

I visited this place on 4÷26÷14 with my daughter. We both had the special, which was a Tri-Tip sandwich, choice of salads, we had the California Summer salad and a drink for 10 $. It was worth every penny. It was hands down THEBESTSANDWICH I have ever had. It came with their special spicy mayo which was so delicious, they were very generous with the meat and the bread was soft and fresh. It was so filling I could only eat ½ of the sandwich. The salad was worth the trip alone, they use their own special poppy seed dressing and my mouth still waters thinking of that salad. .Also available were many home made baked goods, the serving sizes were large and all looked delicious. We did sample the macaroon cookies and they were also very delicious. I want to go back very soon and bring some friends. This place is definitely a 10, and I am a hard consumer to please, It needs more attention paid to them. WAYTOGOWHISTLESTOP!

Came home very upset-paid $ 35 for a custom birthday cake for a friend a senior citizen. I wanted to patronize a local business & have a beautiful elegant cake for her special birthday. The cake was was decorated with plastic toys &LOPSIDED with blue frosting.. The decorative writing was done on the paper platter not on the cake as I had asked. I was so upset that I walked out after the owner offered my $ back so I could go to Raleys which I would have done if the birthday dinner wasn’t in 2 hours. My husband was with me when I ordered the cake and he said I was clear that it was not for a child and that I described how I wanted it done. My husband stayed behind to wait for the shabby plastic children’s decorations to be taken off and flowers & butterflies substituted-NOT artistic at all the flowers or butterflies. He came to the car with the cake NOT in a box-now he is on the way to Raley’s to try and buy a cake box as we cant take the cake into the restaurant without it being in a container. I cant believe being charged $ 35 for a LOPSDED birthday cake, and no box to put it in. I am sure the owner tried but she should have fixed the cake and given us a discount since it was lopsided, NOTWHATWEORDERED and no cake box-this would have gone a long way to making me feel less upset and embarrassed about taking such a poorly executed cake to a very special adult birthday party. I will take a picture of the cake for my records to prove if any questions that it was lopsided etc. We wont be returning. & when my husband returned from Raley’s the staff had given him a container for the cake – for free-now that is customer service and I should have gone to Raley’s instead for the cake. Still cant believe that there was no box for the cake and that we were expected to transport the cake without a box to the restaurant-thank goodness for Raleys.

I’m surprised there aren’t more reviews for this place. Friendly, helpful service. Great food and LOCAL. I agree with the other review the Mcbean shake is delicious. Homemade baked treats and cake bites are delicious as well. Help support this local gem so we don’t lose it!
