One needn’t visit Rome or New York to find a piece of coffee heaven. Sitting beside the beautiful green court square of quaint Lincolnton is a tiny coffee shop where southern charm presides over first class Italian espresso and cappuccino, plus all the American variations on the theme. This is exactly the kind of shop where everyone knows your name. Worth a trip to Lincolnton for this alone, but check out life on a true old fashioned Main Street while you’re there.

Why would anyone in Lincolnton EVER go to Starbucks or DD when you a gem like this in town? Fresh coffee, farm fresh milk, and wonderful service. Lydia and Tiffany are the sweetest. And of course the owners when they are there! I buy coffee from here usually several times a week and have never been disappointed. Sometimes you can get local honey here as well.

What can I say? Fausto feeds me breakfast several times a week. It has great atmosphere, friendly, hands-on owners, and great coffee and snacks. If you are in Lincolnton, skip over the chains and come here for a mocha.

If Italians are known for two things, it’s their amazing espresso and their famous cyclists. Right? Either way, you’ll find both of them here. Famous cyclist Fausto Coppi is the inspiration/theme/namesake for this cute coffee shop in downtown Lincolnton. While you’re sipping on one of the wonderful espresso drinks, take a look at some of the memorabilia hanging around the room. Pictures of Fausto and other cyclists from previous Tours. That is, if you’re not talking to Miriah. She’s the owner/manager/head barista, and a great conversationalist to boot. I come to Fausto Coffee every time I visit my grandparents, and being only a few times a year, I’m always amazed when Miriah remembers not only my name, but follows-up on things I’ve told her from previous visits. Being in rural NC, where the coffeeshop abounds with Southern hospitality, it lacks in foot traffic. I’m always pleasantly surprised because I never know if I’ll have the place all to myself, or be greeted by a mix of teenagers, grandparents, or the antsy businessman who’s decide to walk across the square for a pick-me-up. I can’t blame any of them – it’s a great place no matter the occasion! Overall, it has done wonders to help the revitalization of the downtown scene in Lincolnton. I plan to continue my regular visits, and you should, too!
