While I have seen Dr. O’Sullivan before and have always been happy with her care I feel forced to write this review as her group has now been taken over by Resurrection Health Care and their Billing practices are deplorable. Looks like I am going to have to find another doctor. I recently went in to see Dr. O’Sullivan after having had a cough all Summer that wouldn’t go away. I got there 15 minutes before my scheduled appointment to fill out any paperwork and to be able to go in right away if they were running ahead of schedule. No such luck. After filling out a few forms my scheduled appointment time came and went and I sat for an additional 30 minutes with only one other person in the waiting room the whole time. Once I was taken into the examination room an aide came in and weighed me, took my temperature and blood pressure then I sat for another 25 minutes waiting for the doctor and had time to check and answer email, go on Facebook post pictures and make comments, and catch up on my word games. I should have brought a book! Once the doctor came in it was pretty straight forward. She listened to my chest and asked a few questions and gave me a prescription for an antibiotic. Total time in the room with me was 7 minutes. I packed up and stopped at the counter out front to pay my bill. The girl charged me $ 111.60 on my credit card and gave me a receipt. Today, nearly a month later, I get a bill in the mail from Resurrection Health Care for $ 56.40. Half way down the second page in small print it says provider B O’Sullivan and date of service 10÷08÷13, otherwise I would never have known what this was for. There is no itemization nor explanation of charges or any indication as to why I am being billed additional. It says right on there«office outpatient new 30 minutes» $ 280.00. Total patient payments -$ 111.60 which is what I had paid and had a receipt for and then Total other adjustments -$ 112.00. Amount due for this visit: $ 56.40 Now I am NOT a new patient, I have seen Dr. O’Sullivan before and she even had my chart with all my previous information and the track record on my visits. Yet because I haven’t been there in 3 years I am considered and NEW patient. «30 minutes» it says that right on the bill. Is that for the 30 minutes I sat in the waiting room? Because I would have just as soon forgone that, or was that for the 25 minutes unattended in the exam room amusing myself plus the 7 minutes that I was actually interacting with the doctor? Then there’s the«total other adjustments» What the heck is that!!! No idea. Screwy billing system, makes you feel like you are being taken and when you call in to ask and have them clarify you might as well be talking with automatons. They have no explanation, they have no mercy and they don’t care. Good thing they are in the healthCARE business. Needless to say I am not at all happy with this and it’s a good thing it came in the mail today as I am going to be out of town for a while and it would have just sat, unpaid, and I would probably have come home to a collection notice! Really not happy with this at all and am going to have to start looking for a doctor in the city now. Bummer, because I really liked Dr. O’Sullivan.
