We were very happy with Dan and the landscaping job his crew did. They planted a crape myrtle and put down top-soil and grass seed wherever needed. This was not a complex landscaping job but the work was done neatly with top-quality seed and tree. We also buy most of our plants at Colonial because of price and selection.

Lesson learned, I would hire a «professional landscape architect» not happy with their design or follow-up. Dan claims he has been doing this for over 20 years and is well qualified but after everything was planted his design has a lot to be desired. One month after his landscaping was completed everything was growing into each other. Dan refused to come back and correct errors saying«He’s the expert and I don’t know what I’m talking about». I may not know a lot about landscape design but i do know when bushes are to close together to grow. I had two independent companies assess Colonials work and all came to the same conclusion… he sold you way too many plants(upwards of 30 plants) and there is NOTENOUGH room for them to grow properly. After presenting Colonial with this information, Dan sent an email saying he will NOT comeback and rectify the situation, stating, «The other landscapers don’t know what they are talking about».

Huge selection, healthy plants. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly; they made great recommendations for plants that would do well in different parts of our yard. Prices on plants are significantly lower than at other places, but flowerpots and garden beds seem pretty pricey — you may want to shop around for those. Highly recommended!
