We enjoyed our meal of fried catfish and shrimp. This place is family owned and during our meal the owner, their son and their granddaughter(which was our waitress) came by our table thanking us for dining with them. Everything was very good. The pieces of fish were good size and cooked just right. The hush puppies and tartar sauce were home made. The salad bar was small but adequate. We will be back. The price was reasonable for a fish and shrimp.

After a long day on the bicycle, my wife and I decided to try Lindale Landing. It had been a good catfish restaurant some years ago under a different name but had been closed for a few years. It was close, lots of cars, so we went in. We were met at the door by the cashier who informed us, «Due to waitress rotation, I’m going to have to seat you all in the middle of nowhere…» She did — against a wall in between the bathrooms. My wife ordered the stuffed jalapeño poppers for an appetizer and our very friendly waitress brought our drinks. Tea arrived(they have no beer/wine) with well over six ice cubes which melted promptly. When the appetizer arrived, two of the stuffed fried what ever it was looked«Grade D» edible. The batter resembled Quickcrete. We dissected one and hid the rest under our salad plates. When our entrée arrived we knew we had made the wrong decision. The fish had an aroma, no, it had smell to it that was just foul. My wife’s potato casserole was cold. Our waitress came around and politely explained that she would be more than happy to adjust our ticket but that would entail talking to a manager. We declined, paid and left. Lindale Landing shouldn’t have — it should have kept on flying.

Everything was very good. Service was also great. Had catfish, coating was excellent. Only gripe was having to leave table to fix my baked potato. Would have preferred it would have arrive at table topped!
