Carvel’s are hard to find so it’s nice to know this one is still holding on… I go to carvel for ice cream cakes… They are so yummy and the crunchies in the middle are delicious. You can usually find coupons in the star ledger on Sunday’s for there ice cream cakes as well.

Can you believe they still offer Cookiepuss and Fudgie the Whale?!! Amazing! The soft serve is still my favorite, but if you don’t know about the saucers, then you need to get up on it. Not much has changed over the years as far as product offerings and packaging… and that’s a great thing. This particular location offers ample parking in a lot or on the street. The hours are decent. Just remember that they only serve ice cream products here. No froyo. No food. It’s not like Baskin Robbins, Dairy Queen, or even Friendly’s. This is a true ice cream shop and it’s been that way since they opened. COOKIEPUSS!!!

carvel reminds me of my childhood… they’ve closed most of them down but this one is still open. The saucers are the best! Second best are 2-for-1 Sundaes on Tuesdays. hehe

4.5 stars is my real rating — I absolutely love Carvel ice cream cakes and this location always has a nice variety to choose from but the staff at times is a bit ‘thick’. A couple days ago we went there for a cake and the guy had trouble spelling my cousin’s name, had to fix a mistake which always looks a bit funny. Their variety of ice cream flavors is decent but I have a feeling they could do better. The staff is pretty courteous and even borderline friendly. It’s the ice cream cakes though that keep me coming back!!!
